How many people out there have got strange names and cannot find a personalised mug?

If you're anytHow many people out there have got strange names and cannot find a personalised mug?

If you're anything like me and have mean parents or even if you emigrated to Britain and you can't find a mug in Clinton Cards(tm) (or wherever) with your name on it, then http://www.designamug.co.uk is the site for you! This site also comes in very handy for gift ideas for that special someone (or in my case, an Indian flatmate's birthday!) as they stock a range of mugs from bog standard normal white ones with whatever you want printed on them, to a heat sensitive black one with your name (in black!) printed on, which instantaneously changes to a white background with the exception of your name! I received Mautik's (now you see why i needed to have one specially made) mug today and i've been showing the rest of the flat and amusing myself by pouring boiling water into it!

Before the mug is printed and sent out to you, you receive an e-mail asking you what font you would like the copy of text printed in and on top of this, the company will e-mail you back and attach a picture of the text to ensure that you're 100% sure that you want it printed in that fashion.

But that's not the only thing that this site offers. At the side of the front page is a list of options you can pick from templates such as birthdays, anniversaries, and even children's drawings. Photographs of momentous occasions can also be superimposed onto mugs and using state of the art technology, the photo is fine tuned to perfection to improve such aspects as colour depth and quality.

The prices on this site are very reasonable and start off as little as £4.95 per mug. Gift boxes are also available for only 45p and p&p is £2.00 unless you order in bulk. This brings me onto my
next point, bulk buying. The site not only offers you the choice of buying a single mug as a gift to a friend, loved one, or just you, but companies may also like to know that you can place gargantuan orders and get P&P for cheaper or even free (I honestly don't know, but there's a section for you to get a quote if you order more than 10 items). By attaching the design that you desire, the site will use their computers and tweak them to a high resolution and e-mail you back in order to ensure the highest standards of customer satisfaction.

The site itself is set out extremely well and is very user friendly and the customer service is beyond any that I've ever encountered through my years of on-line shopping. That is to say that they are prompt, polite, formal and very pleasant people to deal with. Speaking from personal experience, whenever I fired a question at them, a response is not only guaranteed but it's also very speedy and very helpful. I do believe that I actually got a response from their service team within three minutes after sending it! Hurah!

Payment for your goods is very easy as you can pay via one of three ways. Those of you who are familiar with eBay know that the main methods of payment are by the way of PayPal or Nochex, however, sceptical users who prefer good ol' fashioned snail mail can pay with a cheque.

The mug arrives within a couple of days (although the site states that it may take up to a week, just to be safe) and is well packaged in a polystyrene box to ensure that they are well protected, even when tossed around in the parcel collection point at uni! A large "fragile" sticker adorns the mug(s) so that's not a problem for incompetent mail handlers (I have issues, ok?!).

This site was actually a random site that I found on http://www.google.com but I am very please
d with the results and will definitely be using their services again cos I need a personalised mug, as I am sharing a flat with nine people and you've seen how my name is spelt on my profile!

On a final note, I would like to thank Mark and Amanda from the Design A Mug customer service team for their five star service and efficiency.

Rah!

PS. No I DO NOT work for Design A Mug, nor do I know anyone who does, I genuinely think that the sun shines outta their bum!

PPS. I'll write more about the site's layout when I get back to uni as I don't have broadband at home and it's amazing how much better you realise it is when you actually HAVE it! :-)
