There is in fact a terrific web-site dedicated to giving you a vast reference-bank of information on a very wide range of DIY subjects and much more!

Diyfixit provides very well informed instruction on such diverse subjects as Building issues, Tiling, Painting, how to handle Electrics, Plumbing problems, Loft and Attic Insulation, Wallpapering and Central Heating.

Each article is laid out with easy to follow ‘step by step’ details together with clear illustrations where required !

There are literally hundreds of pages of advice, how-to’s and tips for the DIY’er so you need never be stuck again.

Just to give you a wee idea of how comprehensive the site is, clicking on ‘Electrics’ will get you a list of subject heading which include: Appliance connection, Basic electrics, Bathroom electrics, Connecting flex, Connecting sockets, Earth bonding, Flex - extending, and the basics of how to handle Electrical Fuses.
