I have always wanted to like the DVLA and always hoped it would be a great service, however I much have been dreaming! Everything I have done to do with the DVLA over the past year has been such a hassle. At the moment I am in the middle of trying to purchase a new car - sounds easy enough - and buying a new car should be a lovely ... Read the complete review

I recently used the DVLA website to apply for a tax disc, and this is the first time I have done so. I was very impressed. As soon as the Tax disc reminder came through the post, all I had to do was go online, to the DVLA website, then enter the reference number on the reminder. The website was able to check all my insurance and MOT ... Read the complete review

I passed my driving test almost 10 years ago and haven't really had too many dealings with the DVLA. Apart from moving house a couple of times and having to send my licence back to them to change the address, which to their credit was a seamless and quick process. However the one major thing I want to bring to peoples attention is the ... Read the complete review

The DVLA - well the number plate department!! Where to start - when I was 16 years old I thought the DVLA were the best people in the world, why you ask because I was less than a year away from getting my driving licence, and they would provide me with my freedom. Which they did. Since then however my opinion has changed ... Read the complete review

When I passed my driving test back in 1999 I got one of the new photocard style licences that came with a paper counterpart, as they were introduced in July 1998. I found the photocard licence useful to carry around in my wallet as I don't look my age and would inevitably get asked for ID in pubs and clubs. However, I didn't realise ... Whilst the online road tax renewal facility has been very useful in the past, I recently had to declare a vehicle SORN because I had no other option. When I came to renew the tax, I found that due to a delay in effecting a cherished number transfer the year before, the donor vehicle was not taxed from the date I requested but from the start of the ... I really hate the DVLA, they are useless I am having to pay a £40 fine because they have not updated their records and I SOLD THE VEHICLE CONCERNED!!
I am really unimpressed, why is it society always targets the weak easy catch people
They have a chaotic system and I will never have a vehicle in my name again

This review was originally posted on ciao, several weeks ago, but given the problems I had with the service (explained below) it would be helpful to repost it here also. So today I had to call my former work place again to see if my tax disc had been delivered to them, and after I spoke to my old workmates and the DVLA themselves I ... Read the complete review

Recently I had the good fortune to purchase a white Mercedes Benz 190e and thought that such a magnificent car deserved a personal number plate. My first port of call was the adverts you see in the Sunday papers and I was able to find a really nice number which suited me and the car!!! The price looked ok so I called the company ... Number Plates:-A nice Earner. This is only a short opinion but you might find it useful,I did.I was out having a drink with a friend,(as you do)and he happened to mention that my number plate was the same first three letters as his which I thought nothing of until he told me he had just sold it for £200. So I took his ... Read the complete review

If you have any questions that you want answering about driving or keeping your vehicle on the road then have a look at the DVLA web site. The site has been designed really well and is very easy to navigate. When I first heard of this web site I thought that a site set up by Civil Servants would be very boring and full of jargon, but this ... Read the complete review

For a really special present why not try buying someone their own personalised number plates. It isn't as expensive as you might think. Providing of course you know where to look. For a really special gift for Christmas, I decided to buy someone their own plates. I asked around friends etc and they all said it would be very, very ... Read the complete review
