On hearing that E-Toys was withdrawing from the UK and having a massive closing down sale, I decided to get my order in as quickly as I could. I surfed around the site and managed to find some bargains and a few birthday pressies for my daughters. I placed the order with fingers crossed, because you never really know whether you'll get the goods under these circumstances and you do hear awful stories of companies who withdraw and leave customers high and dry. www.etoys.co.uk has now closed down. In its final death throws, it had a sale, where to start with everything was reduced by 50%. To start with there was a pretty wide selection of stuff available. Then a couple of weeks later, they reduced the price of everything by another 50%, although by this time there wasn't much choice left. I made three orders in this time. The time to delivery got longer each time, but when they did arrive, I didn't have a problem. If etoys.co.uk had still been going the next time I needed to buy some toys, then I might have used them, although not at their full prices unless I was in a real hurry. To be bothered ...

Toy shopping heaven - but now they've gone! I've bought numerous toys from etoys web site and have never had a complaint about them. To my horror I've found they've ceased trading as of the 19th January 2001. Horror - they were so reasonably priced and saved a fortune over the Christmas period for friends and family alike. Their recent sale was great as they knocked upto 75% of the prices. Brio items were vastly reduced and has filled up my sons box quite quickly and cheaply. One thing this has taught me is to support these sites, if they're good, to ensure they continue trading. They will be sadly missed! ...
