Good prices but bad Customer Service (Ebuyer.com)

I chose ebuyer as
(A) they had all the items i needed .
(B) they had them all in stock.
(C) had very competitive prices.

the website itself is quite slick and is comparable to other big sites like dabs.com.
They offer several delivery speeds at varying prices which is quite flexible.

The order tracking system can be patchy though as ebuyer ship from multiple warehouses. I found that on my order, I got a tracking number for one parcel that they shipped from their own warehouse(a set of case fans) but nothing at all for the other part of the order which was shipped from a suppliers warehouse (an LCD monitor) which made it frustrating.
they did have a series of icons for the delivery stages
security check->order placed->order building->payment taken->delivery (consists of three icons - warehouse->van->home)
but for the supplier delivery part of my order it just hovered on "home" even though it had not been delivered. combined with no tracking number made it impossible to guess when i would arrive.

I ordered an LCD monitor (Viewsonic VX922) and some case fans from ebuyer last sunday and paid for priority delivery (tuesday delivery).

On tuesday as i wasn't in at the time, my Father signed for the package. When i returned i found that the case fans were ok but the monitor they had delivered was the wrong one. the one they delivered was an unbranded monitor (HD-972KC). What is even more curious is that ebuyer don't sell the monitor they delivered.

i submitted an RMA online asking for a replacment as they had delivered the wrong product and also rang up customer services to verify the returns procedure. They stated that they would collect the item (they do that if the cost of returning it to them exceeds £5) but would not dispatch a new monitor until the old one had been returned to them and validated (a week plus!). They were quite unhelpful on the phone and it took quite a bit of arguing (and an escalation to a supervisor) for them to at least agree to dispatch the new monitor once the pick-up agent had confirmed they had received the monitor from me.

i finally received the correct monitor on thursday evening.

Overall the customer expierience i received was not one I would soon like to repeat.
Would i shop again at ebuyer? perhaps, but not for anything expensive and not if I needed an item urgently like I did in this case.

Summary: you are better off going to other e-tailers like dabs for peace of mind
