Advantages: wide choice, cheap
Disadvantages: con men, time it takes to get goods
I have used ebay to buy on many occasions with great success and managed to save myself a few quid at the same time. But like most things, I feel that Ebay too has its pro's and con's. The best thing about ebay in my eyes is the wide choice of items available. Whatever you are looking for you can normally find it on Ebay. For instance, I am a slightly (yes slightly!!!) larger than normal guy hence the name big squidge. Trying to get clothes from brand names in my size from a high street store is not the easiest task in the world. On Ebay I have managed to find a fair amount of items from brands such as Lacoste and Hugo Boss that fit me a treat. The bigest down side is the fraudsters. I came very close to buying a sony laptop on ebay for £1000.00 but decided to do a search on the name of the payee of the cheque that i was due to send. Sure enough I found the name on an internet fraud list. Now I know why he wasn't prepared to meet face to face to exchange goods. But that was the only time it has haoppened to me so it is unfaire to not recommend what on the whole is an excellent site. My last comment is that I found the site to be quite addictive at one point. Many nights I would be sat at the computer until 4 or 5 in the morning looking at things that I had no intentions on buying. As long as you deal with reputable dealers with a rating of 10 or more, I don't think you can go far wrong with ebay, after all like I said it has saved me a few quid since I started to use it.

- 03/12/02 Hi! what fooyoo says is right. Easily understood as ebay and ebuyer are very close in names but are totally different websites. IF you have any problems getting it moved then let me know at criple1@hotmail.com but don't forget to let me know it's from you as it will go straight in to trash otherwise. |
