Advantages: Excellent customer service and delivery

Disadvantages: Website can be fairly slow to upload after searching

We found this Empire Direct some two years ago, after searching for a combi microwave oven/grill at a good price. So far we cannot fault their customer service or delivery times and it makes me sad to see that other DooYoo-ers have not had the same happy experiences that we have had.

For our first order (the microwave) we telephoned them to place the order at 3.15pm ... by 8.45am the next morning, the couriers were at the door. The item had been delivered safely, securely packaged and was immaculate. All as expected but with exceptional delivery service.

The second time we ordered (portable tv/video combi as a christmas present) we had to wait a little longer for delivery, but it was well within a 7 day window which we were pleased with, given the pre-Christmas rush. Again, faultless customer service with updates given regularly - and safely and securely packaged.

We've subsequently used Empire Direct for other household items and gift items. Our latest buy was a pedometer - an excellent discounted price with a few nifty little extras - and again, this was delivered within 2 days after ordering online, securely packaged.

The only downside to Empire Direct (online) seems to be that the website runs a little slower when you use the search facility, rather than just clicking through the lists on the left-hand-side of the web page. They do say patience is a virtue but ...

Their offers are always genuine and we struggle to find better value for money. Admittedly it does pay to shop around, but most times we've had very good results when looking for a specific model/make.

However, we've seen recently that they are heavily marketing themselves in the national press and we fear that they will lose their crown as Discount Electrical Goods Champs once they taste the dizzy success of more customers and more profits. We loved their personal service and superfast delivery service, at a very good postage price ... however, we will see what happens with our next order!
