I have shopped with Figleaves for some years now and love to spread the word of big bras out to the big boobed lady. I struggle finding underwear in my size in deparment stores, especially underwear that looks pretty. Figleaves caters for all sorts of shapes and sizes, I challenge you to find a bra size they do not stock! They are an online only store so paying for delivery is a must but they offer free returns which is fantastic if you want to order a few different styles or sizes to choose from. Over the years I have had to call their customer service line a few times but the staff could not have been friendlier. I would recommend Figleaves to anyone who struggles (like me) in finding well fitting bras in their size.
Being a larger woman I was cautious and hesitant to buy from online, but I was reassured by the promise of free returns - it takes away the extra stress of ordering online.
The website is really easy to use, its easy to filter your required options - such as by size, colour or brand - they also had a large range of brands I was familiar with which guarantees a high quality. There are also so many styles and ranges to choose from - there is something for every occasion - from a every day underwear to fancy! There is also a great price range - so something for every budget!
I was extremely happy with the items I bought, they looked the same as on the website and were of very high quality.
I was also impressed with the speed of delivery - I was told that it would take at most 5 days, but it was there within 3 days, and was presented in a very professional format.
I would definitely recommend figleaves, and would definitely order from them again!
I placed my first order with Figleaves just recently. I'm 23 weeks pregnant and thought it was time to get some maternity/nursing bras. Most of the shops I've looked in only have a very limited range of nursing bras and 9 times out of 10 they're plain and boring. Not so at Figleaves.
I ordered a two pack of lovely lace bras and a maternity swimsuit which arrived only 2 working days after I'd placed my order - I was very impressed! The bras, although lovely, were a little too big, so I returned them for an exchange and the new ones arrive again within just a few days.
Customer services is second to none, and the quality of the products is excellent. The bras I know will last be well into the 6 months I plan to try breastfeeding as well as wearing them for the remainder of my pregnancy. The swimsuit is stylish and pretty, not frumpy and matronly as so many maternity swimsuits are.
I will definitely be buying from here again in the future!
I feel I should start this review by being completely honest. My name is Stephiej, and I am a lingerie addict. I am ever so slightly obsessive about it, and I have an overwhelming compulsion to ensure my underwear is always matching. I think this is because at work I need to dress professionally and in my spare time I'm usually either in jeans, running kit, or rubber (wetsuits - in case anyone was imagining weird fetishes!), so lingerie is my main outlet to buy and wear what I want and like rather than what is practical. I probably spend more than I can really justify on lingerie, but I look on it as a little luxury I can indulge in every day, which makes me feel good and always puts me in a positive frame of mind in the mornings. I like to buy good quality items that feel nice against my skin, and although I have found some gorgeous sets on the high street I buy most of my lingerie online. This is because although I'm not a particularly unusual shape, size 14 and 36D, I find that high street stores often sell out of my bra size really quickly, so I'm more likely to find what I like in my size online.
Figleaves.com is one of my regular online haunts, along with La Senza, but I find Figleaves usually has a much greater range. The website is well laid out, user friendly, and very intuitive. The homepage displays the Figleaves banner at the top, along with links to the main departments; Women, Men, Brands, Offers, Holiday Shop and Outlet, these departments are broken down further into categories within the department e.g. Men, Nightwear, Pyjamas . There is also a search box in the banner, which is really handy when I know exactly what I want. Above the banner is a series of links to the Figleaves US site, a Currency Converter, the sites Help facility, and the facility to Register with the site or Sign In. In the top right hand corner a Shopping Bag symbol is displayed, with the number of items the user has placed in their bag, this Shopping Bag is displayed on every page visited. Down the left hand side of the homepage is an advanced search facility called "Find Me", where the user can specify their size, colour, price, brand and/or item, to limit the search results to those that are appropriate. Below this is a list of links to the many site support features. These include a Fitting Room function, which displays information and a video tutorial on bra fitting (it is estimated that approximately 80% of British women wear the wrong size bra), a Size Chart, which compares UK sizing with US and European, this is particularly useful as many of their brands are not in British sizes, a Gift Wrapping option and Delivery information amongst many other features. At the bottom of the home page are links to the company contact information, their customer service pages, company recruitment etc. The main part of the homepage is given over to visual displays of the current featured products and ranges.
Browsing the site is simple and easy. Selecting a department from the homepage banner or using the advanced search facility will display a page of 12 thumbnail images, with brief information on the range, brand, style, and price underneath. Selecting one of these thumbnails displays a full page of information on that item, including several views from different angles and a zoom facility, available colours and sizes, general product information, advice on the material and care of the item and delivery information. A facility that I find really useful is the option to read consumer reviews on each of the items, and a star scoring system based on these reviews. To buy an item the process is similar to most online stores, simply select the desired size, colour and quantity, and click on the Add To Basket button. A pop up window then appears under the Shopping Bag at the top right of the screen confirming this item has been added to the bag, and listing any other items already in the bag. The option to continue to the checkout is at the bottom of this window, otherwise clicking anywhere outside of this window on the main screen will cause it to disappear and allow the user to continue shopping.
On reaching the checkout a list of items in the users shopping bag is clearly displayed with the cost of each item and the total cost of the contents of the bag. There is an option to enter a promotional code or gift card code. I have found there are frequently promotional codes for Figleaves on Vouchercodes.co.uk often for free delivery or 5 -20% off. Figleaves also currently have an offer 10% off any order for new users signing up to their newsletter. The delivery option automatically defaults to UK Standard, which is 3-5 working days, but there is an option to select alternative faster delivery options. To make a purchase you will need to register with the site and create an account. This is a relatively quick and painless process, requiring only an email address and a password. However, I would recommend registering for the Figleaves newsletter as well because it frequently has details of promotions and offers e.g. 3 for 2 on Figleaves own brand etc. Payment is accepted by all major credit and debit cards, and also by Paypal. Progressing to the delivery and payment screen if you are a new user you will need to enter your delivery address, but for existing users this information is already stored. This is where you are also presented with the option of selecting the gift wrapping service. Gift wrapping costs an additional £3.50 and includes a lovely deep purple gift box, with the items inside wrapped in delicate tissue paper and secured by a sticker in the shape of the Figleaves symbol, a gift card with your chosen message is also included. On completion of the order a confirmation screen is displayed with an individual order number. A confirmation email is also sent to the users email address, it is worth saving this email as an invoice is not included when the order is delivered.
Although I have always chosen standard delivery (usually because I have been able to get it free with a promotional code), I have found that more often than not I receive my order within 2 working days by first class Royal Mail. Even without gift wrapping, my orders have always been beautifully packed. They arrive in a sturdy white box, with the items wrapped in white tissue paper with the Figleaves symbol printed on it in pale green and secured with a Figleaves sticker. I have always found something extra included with my order, sometimes a voucher for my next order, once a beautifully fragranced soap and once a pretty scented drawer sachet. This is great because, let's be honest, who doesn't like a freebie! Receiving my deliveries from Figleaves always feels like receiving a present from myself. Returns are free, although I have never needed to use this facility so I cannot comment on how easy, or not, it is.
Figleaves sell a variety of brands, from their own Basics range, to Calvin Klein and Quicksilver to the more expensive and luxurious Fleur of England and Chantelle. Because of the breadth of their range there is something to suit every budget. As well as lingerie they sell swimwear, nightwear, accessories, a bridal range, a fuller figure range and home and gift products. I really enjoy shopping on this site, and find I have to set myself a limit, both financial and time, before I start looking otherwise I can find temptation gets the better of me. The site has some very useful facilities, including a telephone advice line and personal shopper service. There is also a gift range which I would recommend as the ideal first port of call for men who want to spoil their significant other with a luxurious lingerie gift, but are a little unsure of where the line is between desirably sexy and unpleasantly tarty. To be honest this line is probably different for everyone, and buying lingerie as a gift is never going to be easy, but so worth it if you get it right! This website will certainly increase your chances of hitting the spot. At certain times of the year, like Christmas or Valentines day, the website has special gift guides for these occasions.
I love this website, and because of my obsession I have to ration myself, but for people with more willpower than me, and the inclination to look online for relevant voucher codes, this is a great place to buy underwear. The site is well laid out and easy to navigate, the product range is varied and there is a good range of sizes to cater for most people. It is not the cheapest option, but the products are good quality, and with voucher codes, the cost is reasonable, particularly the basic ranges. The service and delivery is excellent, and overall it is a pleasure to shop here.
Figleaves is largely an online retailer of designer lingerie, bras and swimwear. However they also sell a small range of menswear aswell.
I came across Figleaves when I googled a diamante bra and one of the sites it directed me to was Figleaves who stocked the Splendour backless diamante bra... Splendour do actually specialise in this kind of underwear for evening wear, but I found that Figleaves had a good range. The price was only a few pounds cheaper but the reason I went with Figleaves is because they had a quite a range of other underwear and I ended up ordering a couple of items.
The website itself is fairly easy to navigate and you can search by designer if you have something particular in mind. They also have an outlet category which has an extra 70% off the usual prices so you can pick up some bargains so its worth having a look.
After I had placed my order the goods arrived in a few days. They were packaged very nicely and the bras were wrapped in tissue paper... there is just something about receiving something wrapped in tissue paper! They were also in a box so they weren't all crumpled up....
Fortunately I didn't have to return so I cannot comment on how easy it would be to return. However if you are buying a brand I would suggest trying out what your size is in a shop before ordering to save you ordering incorrectly...
What I do find odd about this site is that they have random clothing on here such as mens jeans... not sure I would buy clothing from them such as this so perhaps they should just stick with the underwear...
Figleaves.com are the worlds largest online sellers of as they put it "branded intimate apparel" !! Or in other words underwear. More recently they have expanded their products to include clothing as well. However their main speciality is underwear, swimwear, nightwear and hosiery.
They have a huge selection of underwear and cater for all shapes and sizes. They also have a good search function on the website which allows you to search for items by brand, size, price, colour, style or occasion. I like this function as there is nothing worse than finding something you like only to then discover it isn't available in your size.
They have a good range of products for all price ranges. Bras start from £9 for a basic bra going up to £148 for an "Enticing swarovski encrusted balcony bra". They have a good range of well known brands and designer names.
The advantages of buying underwear and other clothing online is that you can try it on in the comfort of your own home and check what it looks like under different clothing. The disadvantage is that if it doesn't fit then you have to return it. I have bought items a number of times from Figleaves.com and have had to return some items as they didn't fit but I found it a really straightforward and easy procedure. You simply fill in the return form stating why you are returning it, return it in the original packaging and to the freepost address and get a proof of postage certificate from the post office. Figleaves acknowledge your return quickly and my money was refunded quickly back onto my credit card. The whole process was hassle free and I would use them again. You must return the item within 10 days of receipt to ensure that they get it back within 14 days so don't leave it too long before you try your items on.
The orders are shipped quickly and mine arrived in a lovely little box and wrapped in figleaves tissue paper which just added to the pleasure. They state that in-stock items are usually despatched the next working day after ordering.
UK standard delivery is £3.50 which is 2-3 working days and £6 for next working day delivery. However often they have free delivery offers so its worth doing a quick search to see if there are any free delivery codes. Its also worth checking for discount codes as they often have these and you can get anything from between 10 - 20% of items which makes a huge saving especially if you are buying a few things. If you sign up to the figleaves newsletter they will tell you what offers are on so you don't miss out. I would recommend buying when there is free delivery and a discount offer as they do run them frequently.
I really like Figleaves as a company although I do wonder how successful their reaching out into general fashion will be. To me Figleaves means underwear and nightwear and I would happily buy these from them again but I wouldn't really think of considering them if I was wanting a pair of jeans and although they do stock quite a few styles they seem to all be very expensive ones.
If you are in need of some new underwear or nightwear then I would recommend a visit to Figleaves.com and shop in comfort.
As an avid fan of internet shopping I have purchased underwear online for several years and one of my favourites is figleaves.com.
Access and rewards
Cashback is offered on this site through www.topcashback.co.uk so it is worth going through that site to access. Other reward programmes that Figleaves participate in include ipoints (and you can get cash back and ipoints on the same order) and if you have an Egg credit card you get a 10% instant cash back if you use that to pay.
What does it sell?
As you might expect from the name figleaves is all about underwear although in recent times they have broadened their items and now also sell a limited clothing range.
The range of bras is extremely broad - the sizes available from 28AA - 44HH I think so something for most people!
The website is very easy to navigate - any special offers will always be highlighted on the front page and you can click through.
If you want to search for a particular item you can search by
or you can just browse the categories.
What brands are sold?
All the big ones - Gossard, Ballet, Royce, Hotmilk, Elle Mcpherson, Calvin Klein and many many more.
There are special sections for swimwear and DD+ for the fuller figured lady.
At the moment there is also a special "thermals" section which is very apt!
Is brilliant - there is normally a full range of sizes available and it is always clearly marked if there is not for any reason.
Just shop online - or call them up and order over the telephone.
There are great sections on the website including - fitting guide which helps you to find your perfect fit of bra.
Personal shoppers: If you want advice you can call Figleaves and speak to a personal shopper who will give you advice about any type of underwear. I found this particularly useful when buying a nursing bra online - as was advised not to buy more than one until the baby comes. I thought actually being told not to buy many was really honest and shows that Figleaves really care about customer satisfaction and service.
All major credit and debit cards are taken plus paypal. If you are not confident paying online you can call up and pay over the phone. The website is very secure though and I have never had a problem!
Unless you qualify for free delivery (if you sign up to Figleaves email newsletter then you often get offered free delivery days) then the cost will be £3.50. If you spend more than £100 they will upgrade your delivery to next day delivery £5.50 for free.
Normally goods arrive the next day or two days later at a push anyway so I really would not bother with the next day expense!
Could not be easier - free to you and there is a no quibble returns policy - just make sure that any swimwear / knickers you keep hygiene labels intact. You just take them back to the post office and you will normally get your refund within a week.
Customer service - excellent
Range - excellent
Delivery - good (should be free!)
Returns - excellent
Prices - again very competitive - cheaper than department stores and excellent special offers.
Overall a great place to buy your smalls!
I love Figleaves and refuse to buy my underwear from anywhere else. I chanced upon this site several years ago and decided to give it a try as the website was very comprehensive and had absolutely loads of choice. I was not disappointed and have used it regularly ever since.
The website itself is arranged really nicely and you can conduct product searches according to size, brand, colour, price etc. You can also choose to view only "sets" of underwear if you so wish. Once you have found what you want, the website also gives you other colour options as well as other items in that design (such as the pants to match a bra). It's easy to add or remove items from your shopping basket and the checkout is easy.
You can choose to have the items delivered to your home address or to a local Post Office for you to collect at no extra charge. I did have an issue with the latter option a few times because some Post Office staff don't understand/aren't aware of the service provided and try to charge you 50p to pick up your item, so if you do this then make sure you take the email with you which confirms there is no charge for this service.
The items come boxed and nicely wrapped in paper, and the packaging is discreet and doesn't shout "UNDERWEAR" to everyone nearby. The returns policy is good as well as you can return or exchange items for free. All you do is take your items to the Post Office and get proof of postage. SIMPLES!
Figleaves offer items at competitive prices and there are usually a fair few sale items as well. I suppose the one downside is that because it's all online you can't try-before-you-buy, but if you order a few different sizes then one of them is bound to fit and you can simply return the surplus.
As a woman with an apparently awkward bust size (30F -32E depending on brand) I have always had a total nightmare trying to find bras to fit on the high street. In fact it was so difficult I invariably ended up in the nearest size I could find that almost fitted or if I was feeling flush, Rigby and Peller (for which I usually had to take out a small mortgage!)
Having suffered the indignity for years of being told that "we just don't have anything in your size" you can imagine my delight when figleaves started up!
The website is excellent, just type in your bra size, style of bra, state if you want matching sets and hey presto a gorgeous array of bras in my size appears before my eyes. I am no longer presented with grannyesq "over the shoulder bolder holders" in pointy 50's fashion burleigh style. Now I get lots of lovely stylish bras to choose from. With everything from T-shirt bras, plunge bra, swimwear, matching sets, fancy lace, printed, you name it the options are mind boggling.
I always end up buying around 10 matching sets so that I can try them on at home, the major benefit is that you can see which ones work under your clothes and make truly informed descisions (not an option you get if you are trying on in the high street). If I'm not too sure which size will fit I order a couple of sizes, that way you don't have to pay for a 2nd lot of postage!
Delivery time is really fast and any items that are out of stock you are constantly updated as to their expected despatch date. You can track your orders through your figleaves account too. When your order arrives it is always beautifully packed in a box and tissue. Once I have had my mamouth trying on session I then pick out what I want to keep.
The sets I don't like or that don't work for me, I then send back using their free returns service. Really easy to use, just fill in your forms re-box and take to the post office. Anything I return is credited back to my account really quickly and if you time when you buy and pay by credit card it has often been refunded before I receive my statement, so I only pay for what I keep and don't accrue interest on the items I send back.
Frankly Figleaves has changed my life, I now know that I can buy gorgeous bras and swimwear in all sorts of styles and colours in the correct size. I don't know where I would be without them! Probably still trying to squeeze myself into a 32D!
When it comes to buying underwear I really do believe that the internet wins hands down over the high street which fails miserably in comparison. Despite more and more shops adding an underwear range to their collections, be it their own make or a celebrity endorsed range I am frankly quite outraged at how unsuitable these are for the larger woman. Now, I can't believe I'm going to do this but I feel it is important to tell you all that I am only a size 16 in clothing and my bra size is a 38F. I find it very strange that I can buy my clothes from most high street shops, yet I have never been able to buy my underwear from the same shops. Even shops like La Senza which is purely a lingerie shop sell a very limited range above a D cup and even then they are not as pretty as the rest of the bras they stock. Often the underwear that high street shops sell is unsuitable and most ranges seem to stop at a D cup. This is so frustrating because what sell they is very good value for money and they are extremely pretty and I end up leaving the shop like a spoilt five year old screaming 'It's not fair!' in my head.
In the town where I live there is currently only one shop that caters for my needs, however this is at an extremely high cost. Despite selling some larger sizes they still only have a limited range and at an average cost of £30 per bra. This to me is shocking and I just cannot warrant spending that much money on one item. This is like a kick in the teeth when my sister could buy six bras for the price of one of mine! Surely the cost of the extra material doesn't equate to that much of a difference? Anyway after being utterly disappointed by the high street I decided to turn to the internet and it was then that I found a solution to my problem in the form of the website Figleaves. After accidentally stumbling upon this gem of a website I have never looked back and have religiously bought my underwear from them for over four years now.
What do they sell?
I suppose in many ways Figleaves is a little bit like La Senza in the fact that their main product they sell is lingerie. However, they go one step further as they cater for both women and men. They sell everything from underwear, sleepwear, swimwear, maternity wear, bridal wear, loungewear, some beauty products and towels, which I find a little bit random but I won't argue with them!
I personally find the website extremely simple to use thanks to the very straightforward layout. At the top of the website there is a header with the Figleaves name and logo on to the left hand side and then a search bar to the right. Above the search bar there are three smaller buttons to visit the U.S version of the site, or your account and finally a help button. Underneath this header the categories are divided into 'Women' and 'Men'. If you hover over these menu's a longer list of all of the available sub-sections appears so you can go and view only the items you are looking for.
You also have the opportunity to 'Shop by Brand' or to visit the 'Fitting Room'. This is a really useful function which explains a lot of the common problems with ill fitting bras and of course how to remedy them. At times like Christmas or Valentine's Day there is a special section dedicated to those products that are particularly suited to being bought as a gift for that special someone. This may be especially useful for men who struggle to buy presents for their partners. At the end of this header there is a link to their clearance site where they sell of certain stock with up to 70% off.
I find all of these menus are straightforward to use and it is my method of choice when shopping for something other than bras. However if I am shopping for bras I prefer to use the 'Bra finder' which is located on the left hand side of the page. All you have to do is enter your bra size, brand, colour, price and style. By filling in all of these details it is really easy to find the exact type of bra you are after. If you are unsure about what you want you can just enter your size so that you are shown everything that is available in your size. I love this function as I hate looking at a really lovely bras and then being disappointed that they either don't make it in my size or that it out of stock. This function completely eliminates all of this as I can quickly view everything in just my size.
Underneath the 'Bra finder' there is an option to sign up to their email updates. As I have never done this I cannot really comment on it. However, it looks simple enough and could be quite useful to inform you of any upcoming sales.
The majority of the bras that Figleaves sell are quality brands such as Freya, Panache and Fantasie as well as many more. As such the prices are pretty competitive and usually a pound or two cheaper than other sites such as Bravissimo. Although each bra is still sold for around £28 by the time you have included any voucher codes I can usually reduce the price by quite a bit. They also have a lot of items reduced on their clearance website and lots of special offers on. Before Christmas they were selling three pairs of briefs for the price of two, saving me almost £10. For me Figleaves is by far the cheapest way to buy good quality and pretty underwear despite the prices being initially scary.
Shopping (i.e. the best part):
Whether you search for a particular product or use the bra finder service you will be taken to a page showing the results, which all show a small thumbnail of the product. When you click on the thumbnail you are then shown another page containing a lot more detailed information about the product. Although this is all pretty standard stuff when it comes to online shopping, I find this website particularly informative. There is a large enough photo of the product which can be increased if you need more detail. There is also a description of what type of bra it is and the materials that are used to make it. To the right of this there is a box showing the overall rating that previous customers had given it. I find this invaluable when ordering a new brand or product that I have never tried before.
Underneath all of this there is a box showing all of the different colours that the product comes in and a helpful statement of whether or not the product is in stock. It also tells you when the product is likely to be dispatched along with the current price. When you want to add items to your basket you simply amend the quantity and then click 'buy now'. This then takes you to your shopping basket where you can either continue shopping or proceed to checkout.
If you chose to view your shopping basket you are taken to a very simplified page showing the products you chose previously. It is here that you are given the option to use a promotional code or voucher. Before purchasing I always have a sneaky look around the net to see if there are any good voucher codes for Figleaves and more often than not I find one. Compared to some stores there always seems to be one or two good ones floating about. Failing that when you make a purchase from them you are sometimes sent one in the post which is always a nice surprise.
When you proceed to the checkout if you are not an existing member you have to create an account. Although I find this irritating in some cases, it is quick and relatively pain free. All you have to do is enter your email address and a password. You only have to do this the once so I suppose it is not too bad and it does make your shopping quicker for subsequent visits.
After creating an account or signing in you then go through a very quick four step process. This involves picking a delivery option, whether you want a gift box, then payment, followed by a confirmation of the order.
Standard delivery within the UK costs £3.50 which I think is pretty good considering the service provided. To the rest of the world delivery is £5.50 which again is pretty reasonable. They are currently doing an offer where delivery is free if you spend over £100. To me this is pretty unreachable at the moment but at least it is better than nothing.
The website states that delivery is by Royal Mail First Class and this is exactly how all of my orders have been received. I have always received my items promptly and most importantly packaged extremely well. I love the packaging so much as every time I have placed an order I have received it packaged in a lovely white cardboard box, with the items sealed in white tissue. It looks really classy and gives me confidence that the company are professional and care about the customer.
The only downside about the packaging is that I find you do not get a paper invoice with your package. This can be slightly irritating but on the whole is probably best as it saves paper. They do however email you with all the details so it's not like you never receive them. For me this is only a very minor niggle and it would not stop me using them again.
I really enjoy shopping with Figleaves and I definitely see it more as a pleasure than a chore. The website is very simple to use and I can always find what I'm looking for very quickly. There are no hidden charges and I always know where I stand. I have never had any problems with any of my orders and I really look forward to receiving my item, mainly because of the packaging - it's like I've bought myself a gift rather than buying it just for necessity. The prices may not be the cheapest but they often have sales and deals on and I always manage to find a voucher codes so I can almost always get a bargain.
I've always found it difficult to find the right bra, after much time searching the high street, I never thought a website would be the answer, when I know exactly what I'm looking for and I want to see it and try it!
I stumbled across figleaves when it popped up as a sponsored link at the bottom of an ebay page. I bought on the first visit and have been back many times since.
Whatever style you are looking for, whatever your size and budget I really do think they have underwear for every woman! I was looking for non wired bras and had found a few grannyish ones in M&S, other than that the high street was fruitless. Figleaves had about 6 pages of them! From basic ones at £8 to the most gorgeous styles from Lejaby and Calvin Klein (at a little more!).
The site is very user friendly, you can browse through their entire catalogue or refine your search by a range of criteria depending on the item you are looking for. For example, for bras you can search by colour, price, brand, style and size (I would always recommend doing this as some styles are only in certain sizes).
The search results are shown clearly with thumbnails of each result, description, brand and price of each item. Clicking on the ones that take your fancy brings up very clear large pictures of the products, some from more than one angle. If an item comes in more than one colour they provide pictures of every colour, which is great. So much with catalogue and web shopping and item can be available in 10 colours and they'll only photograph one.. this is a pet hate! Also if item have matching items they will direct you to these.
Lingerie for the women is extensive, with the biggest range of bras and briefs on any website or in any shop I've seen. Also hoisery, socks, sleepwear and in summer they have a great range of swimwear too.
However, it not just for the ladies. There's also a good range of mens briefs of every style colour and for all budgets. In addition there's mens sleepwear, socks and T shirts.
Postage costs just £2 and I got my parcel within 3 days which I don't think is bad at all. My purchases came wrapped beautifully in tissue and ribbon.. so would be a brillant site for present buying!! Delivery is free on orders over £75 if you wanted to splash out on a few designer items.
I guess the risk you run with ordering lingerie from an online outlet is how do you know if it will fit or if you are going to like it when it gets there. After all, I think it's something most people are rather specific about what they like. With figleaves though, they have an extensive section on sizing and how to measure yourself to make sure you buy the correct size.
As for what you get when it arrives, the pictures on the website are brillant. The items were as good as they looked in the pictures on screen and the quality was even better than I was expecting.
If you aren't happy with the items for any reason they do offer a free returns service. I'd love to review this bit for you but I've never wanted to part with anything I've purchased and so never had to use the return service. I'll guess I'll have to leave that for another reviewer!!
Once you are on the mailing list for Figleaves they send you regular offers such as free delivery and discount codes, so they really do try to reward their customers loyalty.
Overall, a very good site with an extensive range of lingerie for her and him. I know this is a glowing review, I assure you all I have no shares in figleaves, I am just very pleased I have found a company that has fully earned their 5 stars!
figleaves is def one of the best underwear website for mens underwear in the UK. there seems to be clearance on many items throughout the year and if you have a search on google you can find discount codes that get you up to 20% off and free delivery on your order. i have ordered several items from them and it is so simple and stress free compared to going in to different shops and price comparing. they deliver within 2 days and have a great returns policy. and they are ever increasing the range of mens products that they stock, even though is it predominantly a female underwear website. the best ranges it stocks are emporio armani, hugo boss, calvin klein, and diesel.
but there are also basic brands for those who just want to stock up without spending a fortune. basically there is something for everyone on this website so is worth a look at for yourself or your partner
My husband wears thongs - so now you know! I usually buy him a couple of pairs as a stocking filler at Christmas and a couple more as part of his birthday present just to keep him well stocked.
In the Midlands I used to be able to buy them from Debenhams, but, when we first moved to Llandudno, we didn't have a branch of Debenhams in town and no where else stocked thongs for men. I did try looking on EBay but a search for mens thongs didn't get me the results I wanted at all! I didn't quite see him in leather, rubber or a red nylon posing pouch somehow!
I then decided to search the Internet and found a site called Figleaves at www.figleaves.com which gave me just what I was looking for!
I had seen this site advertised but had never bothered to look at it before this. I have to say that I immediately liked what I found.
The home page of the site is well laid out with the current offers, new lines and only a few adverts, so nothing too irritating!
There is a menu bar across the top of the page giving the following options:
You can choose one of these options or you can choose to shop by size, shop by brand, shop by department, what's hot, fitting room or gift shop.
There is also a list of categories down the left hand side of the page together with a list of the more popular brands supplied by Figleaves. So there are plenty of different ways to search for your items including the tradition search bar where you type in a word or two and click on 'go'.
I am not going to explain every section and what is on sale as it is pretty much self explanatory, but suffice it to say that Figleaves provides a comprehensive range of underwear, swimwear and night wear in all sorts of styles, colours, prices, sizes and brands and browsing the site could keep you amused for hours!
The fitting room section gives details of how to measure yourself properly to get the correct bra size for you and even tells you how to put it on correctly!
The gift shop section has a list of options such as baby shower, Fathers' Day, hen night, sexy gifts, silk gifts and luxury gifts to choose from.
As I said at the start I visited the site to purchase thongs for hubby so I will go through the process with you to tell you about the ordering and delivery from Figleaves.
'I usually use the search facility and type in 'mens thongs'. This brings me a list of 27 different thongs shown in 2 pages of twelve at a time and one with the remaining 3. The prices range from £19 per thong (how much?) to £7 per thong (that's more like it!)
Each one is shown with a picture with the brand and price underneath. You then click on the picture of the item in which you are interested. This then gives you the information about the product, what it is made from, the sizes available, the colours available, the price and the expected delivery time.
You choose the colour and size from the drop down boxes together with the amount you wish to order and click on the 'add the item to basket' button.
This takes you straight to your basket so that you can see that the correct items have been put there. It shows the total cost plus the standard £2 delivery charge. You also have the option to insert a promotion, gift card or voucher code if you have one. You can then continue shopping or proceed straight to checkout.
Before the site takes you to checkout you will be asked to log in by giving your e mail address and a password. This means that when you return as a customer your details are held (securely) so that you don't have to keep typing in your information each time.
There is a 'my account' page where these details can be updated at any time.
At the first stage of checkout you are asked to confirm your address and choose either the standard postage at £2, which will take 3 to 5 days to arrive or next day delivery for £6. You can also have your item in a gift box for an extra £3. I have never bothered with this as the underwear comes in a lovely box anyway.
On the next page you have a choice of paying by credit card, debit card, fax or phone. If you choose fax or phone this must be done within 24 hours of the order being placed or the order will be cancelled. The credit or debit card details are not held on the site and so you will need to enter these each time you shop with Figleaves.
If you are dissatisfied with your items for any reason you can return them free of charge for a full refund of the cost of the item and a returns label will be included in your order for this purpose. The gift box and original delivery charge are non refundable, however if you ask for a replacement you will not be charged for delivery a second time.
Obviously to obtain a refund the items must be new, with tags and in the case of swimwear or underwear must have been tried on over your own underwear for hygienic reasons.
Every time that I have shopped with Figleaves I have been very pleased with my purchase. It has always arrived quickly, within the time frame promised, even though I have only paid for the standard delivery. The items have always been nicely boxed in a Figleaves box surrounded by tissue paper even though they are already in their own branded boxes.
I can't comment on the returns and refunds procedure as I have always been so happy with my purchases that I have never needed to return anything!
So it's Figleaves for hubby's thongs from now on!
This review will also be posted on Ciao.
I have been shopping at Figleaves for quite a while now and have always found it a great online shopping experience!
My favourite thing about this site is that you can shop by size, so theres no disappointment when you find something you like and they don't have your size in stock.
They sell bras, briefs, lingerie, swimwear, sleepwear, full figure, shapewear and menswear. They also have advise pages about what styles are in fashion and about what type of underwear you need for different occasions/outfits. There is also 3-4 pages on how to find the correct bra size which can be quite helpful if you are unsure.
There is also a special section for DD+ sizes which stocks styles designed for the bigger sizes.
The delivery charge is a reasonable £2 but the prices of the items themselves can be quite expensive depending on the brand. Although you can get some reasonably priced items especially when there is one of their frequent sales on!
Another bonus about this site is that you can get a discount if you pay with an Egg card and use the link to Figleaves through Egg.com.
A quirky feature I found recently is that if your purchase is a gift and you were somewhat late in ordering it you can select a delivery option and Figleaves will put a card with the order that says something along the lines of 'We apologise for the late delivery but we are experiencing difficulties with our warehouse'. It's a bit cheeky but I thought some people may find that quite helpful!
There are also free returns so you can order more than one size/style and then return the unwanted ones.
Fig Leaves is an online underwear store. I decided to give it a try after I found a 20% discount code in a magazine. So, here's my experience.
The browsing through the items is quite convenient: you can search by size, by brand, by colour etc. But it's not perfect because once you choose an option you can't cancel it, you have to reload the page again.
The selection of brands and styles is impressive. I usually find it hard to find my size (I'm quite petite), but they have something for me too. The drawback is that they stock a lot of brands, and different brands mark the sizes differently. So the item description in terms of size is not always accurate.
They have sales quite often and it's nice to grab a bargain now and then. But there are fewer sizes available when an item is on sale.
The delivery was very fast: my first order arrived in 4 days, and the second one arrived next day! This is really cool.
Bad thing is that you can't track your item. They only tell you when your order is dispatched, and then it's all up to the Royal Mail.
The nice thing is that they included some other discount vouchers with my order: one for Principles, one for Virgin Wines and one for Snapfish. I understand that this is just marketing, but it's nice anyway.
So, overall, the transaction with Fig Leaves is smooth and easy, the delivery is fast and the items are generally what they seem.
