Advantages: The huge amount of choice
Disadvantages: None I've found
I've always found it difficult to find the right bra, after much time searching the high street, I never thought a website would be the answer, when I know exactly what I'm looking for and I want to see it and try it!
I stumbled across figleaves when it popped up as a sponsored link at the bottom of an ebay page. I bought on the first visit and have been back many times since.
Whatever style you are looking for, whatever your size and budget I really do think they have underwear for every woman! I was looking for non wired bras and had found a few grannyish ones in M&S, other than that the high street was fruitless. Figleaves had about 6 pages of them! From basic ones at £8 to the most gorgeous styles from Lejaby and Calvin Klein (at a little more!).
The site is very user friendly, you can browse through their entire catalogue or refine your search by a range of criteria depending on the item you are looking for. For example, for bras you can search by colour, price, brand, style and size (I would always recommend doing this as some styles are only in certain sizes).
The search results are shown clearly with thumbnails of each result, description, brand and price of each item. Clicking on the ones that take your fancy brings up very clear large pictures of the products, some from more than one angle. If an item comes in more than one colour they provide pictures of every colour, which is great. So much with catalogue and web shopping and item can be available in 10 colours and they'll only photograph one.. this is a pet hate! Also if item have matching items they will direct you to these.
Lingerie for the women is extensive, with the biggest range of bras and briefs on any website or in any shop I've seen. Also hoisery, socks, sleepwear and in summer they have a great range of swimwear too.
However, it not just for the ladies. There's also a good range of mens briefs of every style colour and for all budgets. In addition there's mens sleepwear, socks and T shirts.
Postage costs just £2 and I got my parcel within 3 days which I don't think is bad at all. My purchases came wrapped beautifully in tissue and ribbon.. so would be a brillant site for present buying!! Delivery is free on orders over £75 if you wanted to splash out on a few designer items.
I guess the risk you run with ordering lingerie from an online outlet is how do you know if it will fit or if you are going to like it when it gets there. After all, I think it's something most people are rather specific about what they like. With figleaves though, they have an extensive section on sizing and how to measure yourself to make sure you buy the correct size.
As for what you get when it arrives, the pictures on the website are brillant. The items were as good as they looked in the pictures on screen and the quality was even better than I was expecting.
If you aren't happy with the items for any reason they do offer a free returns service. I'd love to review this bit for you but I've never wanted to part with anything I've purchased and so never had to use the return service. I'll guess I'll have to leave that for another reviewer!!
Once you are on the mailing list for Figleaves they send you regular offers such as free delivery and discount codes, so they really do try to reward their customers loyalty.
Overall, a very good site with an extensive range of lingerie for her and him. I know this is a glowing review, I assure you all I have no shares in figleaves, I am just very pleased I have found a company that has fully earned their 5 stars!
Summary: Online store that's doing everything right

- 08/12/08 Great review. I'm a big fan of Figleaves too.
P&P has gone up to £3.50 now though. I placed an order today so that's definitely the current cost! |
