I did this with a bank transfer this gave me added confidence that the business name and address had to be checked by my bank and there was a ‘paper trail’ to track when and to whom the money get paid. I used the website to check the production date of the car but this only arrives about 10 days before the date it is to built. I have just taken delivery on my new Ford Focus at a fraction of the cost thanks to Ford Canada in Brugge only thirteen weeks after ordering, including the Christmas break. Ford Canada, a Belgian Ford main dealer that took all the importing hassles out of buying abroad and still saved me a whopping 30% on the UK price. I, like most people I guess, was a bit worried about dealing purely electronically (internet and e-mail) when such large sums of money are involved. I got a quote from www.fordbrugge.com (also known as Garage Canada in Bruges) when I was shopping for a new Ford Focus. Things I liked about their service was that they had a full price list of all the various models and options at the price you would pay, instead of the silly money UK list prices. This is useful to read as at the time, Ford had the bright idea of setting the list prices in £500 steps. Of course in the real world, there were some models which you would be able to get at a bigger discount than others, so any transparency in prices wasn't much use.
