Quality Items and Good Service - What more can you ask for? (fossil.co.uk)

Advantages: Good looking, quality items, good service (before and after sales), free postage!

Disadvantages: It can take a week for your item/s to arrive, but it's worth the wait!

After having a look around the Fossil shop in Birmingham and fancing a number of their products, I thought I'd take a look at their website when I got home (I'm never one for buying something on the spot, I tend to deliberate about it for a while!).

Fossil primarily sell their own brand of watches, but they also have a range of jewellery, sunglasses, purses/wallets, handbags and bags - for both men and women.

The website itself (www.fossil.co.uk) is split into two sections - Women and Men. Under each section you can select which range (watches, jewellery etc) as well as "New Arrivals" and "Best Sellers". The website is laid out very well and everything is easy to find, so you won't have any problems finding the product you're after.

I was after a new watch, one with a wide strap (like a cuff), in particular. Browsing through their selection, I found a few watches that appealed to me, but one stood out the most. I chose the women's "Blueberry" watch (Style No. JR9149). It was £65, twice as much as my previous watch had cost me, but I loved this watch and I'd heard that Fossil was a good quality brand. The website includes not only a picture of the watch (which can be enlarged, turned and zoomed in on), but also detailed information about the product (such as measurements, materials, style, movement, if water resistant, warranty etc) - this information can also be printed (as their is a special "Printable Version").

You can select a quantity (I couldn't afford any more than 1!) and then simply click the "Add to Basket" button. Adding the item to your basket will allow you to enter a promo code for a discount. (Also note that Fossil are currently automaticall giving a 3% discount to cover the recent VAT reduction).

Fossil.co.uk are currently giving free shipping/postage and your item will take 3-4 days to arrive after it has been dispatched (I suspect this is because the products are dispatched from Germany, well mine was anyway!). Once your product has been dispatched you will be sent an email with information about tracking your shipment. My watch actually arrived a day earlier than the expected delivery date I was given, so it was a welcome surprise when I arrived home from work!

An added bonus is that the products (well, the watches, at least) arrive in a beautiful presentation tin which is very ideal should the item be a gift for a loved one.

Should you need help with ordering through the Fossil website you will find a page called "How to Order", however I found the process simple and didn't need to read it.

Fossil.co.uk has a vast range of helpful pages, including PDF downloads of maintaining your Fossil product, as well as pages about warranties and repairs, returns and exchanges etc. It's always good to see a company being very helpful with things like that as we all know how difficult it can be to get repairs, return items or exchange them.

So, all in all, Fossil.co.uk is an easy-to-use website which not only functions well, but also looks good. If they have a competion on the go then you'll usually find a reference to it on the Home page (I've entered 2 of their competitions since the end of October!). The prices may be a little more than I normally pay for things, but I do believe that you pay for what you get and with Fossil what you get is quality and good service.
