I can't believe the amount of negatives but I order very regular with fragrance direct and I have never ever had any problems with them. I even get items earlier than ordered most times depends what time of day I order them i suppose the earlier the better but I am defiantly a fragrance direct lover & I tell all family & friends! Ilove the prices and the products i never buy from shops ever!! Keep it up!
Ordered aftershave for my sons birthday 2 weeks ago and still waiting for parcel to arrive. I have missed his birthday a few days back ! Customer service say I have to wait 15 working days before they can do anything. I placed my order 26th and they say I have to wait until the 15th of this month before they will do anything. That's a load of use now his birthday has passed. I felt I was being fobbed off by the customer service advisor. I won't be using this company ever again and I would strongly urge you not to unless you want to wait nearly a month !! Shop elsewhere ! I will also make my friends and family aware not to use this site either. Hopefully may get this for Christmas now if I,m lucky ?
I am quite shocked by some of the negative reviews about this particular website! I have been a loyal customer to fragrancedirect for a year or two and over that time have made around 5 different orders from the company and always found them to be of great service.
Every product has been delivered very quickly, packaged very well and I have not had any hassle whatsoever. Mind you, I have never had to contact them directly so I wouldn't actually know much about their customer services.
I think their prices are great and nearly always cheaper than other discounted cosmetic websites. I have also found that they have a large variety of cosmetics available whereas other discount websites seem to only have a few. On top of this I have always felt their website is very easy to use, has great features to let consumers know if a product is missing of packaging (which some websites don't do), and have a handy review feature.
I would give them a full 5 stars but due to not having any experience with their customer service team I will give 4 for now.
I ordered two bottles of perfume for a gift, but when they eventually arrived I received a tester bottle for one of them and the other the box was crushed and was broken, i telephoned customer service to ask for a replacement but was told they dont sell tester bottles and the other couldnt have been crushed, i felt I was being called a liar and her attitude was disgusting she just didn't care, I was told i could only return the perfume if i took photos and proved it had come from them, and then I would have to pay the return postage,only then would i get a refund for the perfume and only if i could prove that was the perfume they sent out, but I would not get a refund for the postage to return the perfume and would not get a refund for the p&p i had already paid its a big rip off as they get to keep the p&p and you get to pay for postage and if you want a replacement you have to pay the p&p again. I asked to speak to a manager to complain but I was told they do not have one here as the company is owned by someone overseas and is not available, they only have a small staff here. Won't be using again
I've found Fragrancedirect a disappointing experience. I've placed two orders and won't be placing another. The first in December was for three products totaling £85 and I paid for next-day-delivery. It took almost a week to arrive and only after I kept chasing by telephone. They admitted they hadn't despatched and have repeatedly promised a refund of the premium for next-day-delivery but haven't honored it.
I thought maybe I was just unlucky, so placed another next-day-delivery last week, this time totaling £140. The order status keeps showing 'released for despatch'. I called them up to be told, yet again, they haven't posted it. This time I got a stroppy assistant who claimed it was my fault as the order automatically went to 'tracked' and I should have re-entered my request for next day delivery. I'm not sure how that explains why they still haven't posted it utilising any method!
I'll be giving either Perfume-Click or CheapSmells a try for future orders.
I have just got in from a hard night at work and found a small package at my door, on opening the package (I order a lot of things online and so genuinely didn't know which of my many orders it could be) I found the perfume that I had purchased for my Mum for her birthday from Fragrancedirect.co.uk and I just HAD to come online and write a quick review.
Why are you so eager? I hear you ask, well my Dooyoo friends...I only ordered the perfume yesterday afternoon!
I had never used fragrancedirect.co.uk before and in all honesty didn't even know that it existed until yesterday when I stumbled across it while searching the web for the best price for my Mums perfume (stingey or wise, you decide). I'll admit that I'm not one for using the little known websites, unless it is well known and has a good following of customers such as Boots or Amazon I usually tend to steer clear, however I have lots to pay for this month and as they say, every little helps.
It turns out that fragrancedirect was initially established by a husband and wife in 1999 and in 2008 launched their 4th generation website, enabling them to sell a wider range of products and improve their overall service. The company now sell branded perfumes, aftershaves, cosmetics, hair care, skin care and beauty products at discounted prices and claim that they are able to do this by keeping their overheads low and cutting out the middle man.
My Mum really loves the Sun, Moon and Stars perfume by Karl Lagerfeld, a fragrance that she has worn for many, many years and is not easily purchased in our town. After spending some time trawling the net, I discovered it on fragrancedirect for only £9.99 with an additional cost of £1.99 postage and packaging, taking the total price to £11.98 - still cheaper than many other websites including Amazon whom I usually rely on for bargain prices. So I bit the bullet and added the perfume to my basket before entering in my card details and just hoped I wasn't about to be ripped off.
The website states that you should allow 5 working days from dispatch for delivery, so imagine my utter delight at finding the perfume at my door on my return from work, safely packaged and in perfect condition. Not only was I not ripped off but my mum's gift was delivered in record time!
I am (obviously) extremely happy with the service received from this company and will definitely be using them in the future and recommending them to everyone I know and as an added bonus I discovered you can also use this website with topcashback.co.uk for even more sayings!!
ordered goods nothing arrived then got email saying items had been returned, as not know at this address, what a joke I am housebound and have deliveries nearly every day from royal mail.. the cheek of this company they will refund the cost of the goods but not the p&p , So I am paying for this companies inability to ensure delivery.. I agree with reviewers who say there customer service is awful, Didn't it cross there mind I wanted the items, no contact other than a returns email.
I order items from numerous internet shops/companies and this is the first time I have come across such an awful company...
I would avoid this company you may think you may save some money but I would use someone who actually wants your custom and offers customer service rather than drones on about terms and conditions.. As they are so keen on these terms and conditions I would suggest that they put a large warning banner on the site to advise customers that they aren't interested if items don't arrive
If only i had read reviews before i ordered. Paid for a BVLGARI for men and got a BURBERRY for WOMEN (after two weeks). I've tried to contact them on e-mail but all i get is an automated answer from the robot over and over again. I was so glad thinking i was saving almost half of the price the product costs at the mall. Now i'm just angry (again...). Probably that's why stuff costs less than in stores (where still i must admit perfumes/edt ar overpriced, regardless of how friendly/smilling is the staff working there) : I'm not xenophobe (i'm from Romania :P )so what i'm saying has nothing to do with that: the idea is that they probably use very cheap labor, unqualified, with poor understanding of the language...the kind for wich BVLGARI sounds the same with BURBERRY ...maybe even romanians :( And about customer service ... is there any? (besides the robot who answers automatically each time you e-mail them) Don't know what to do. I'l probably give the perfume to my mother and buy another...but where from? (stores are expensive and websites aren't trustworthy)
If an order goes missing from Fragrance Direct like my order has done, "Don't expect good customer service" I placed an order with the company 36 days ago. Goods did not arrive within 5 working days as advertised on website. Reported order missing after "15 working days" following Fragrance Direct "Terms and Conditions". After many emails to "customer service" I am still waiting for a claim form from the company and the date is now 11th March 2011. Is this acceptable? I don't think so.
Fragrance direct is a website which sells discounted beauty products and a wide variety of perfume and aftershave. Brands on fragrance direct include BeneFit, St Tropez and Thierry Mugler.
The products change regularly so i often visit every weke to have a look what has been added
I often order nail polish and lip glosses for 99p...probably too many but they are so cheap that it is hard to resist.
Delivery is only £1.95 no matter how much you order, i think this is a reasonable price to pay! The products are well wrapped and delivery is very quick, i have never waited more than 2 days for my products to be delivered which is great!
On one occassion i had to email fragrance direct about a missing product and i received an email back within 30 minutes and the issue was dealt with quickly and effectively. Really good customer service in my opinion
I often use fragrance direct for christmas and birthday gifts as i get such good products and save money at the same time!
I will continue to regularly use fragrance direct and stronly recomment the site to others

number is for my delivery...? You are responsible
for the delivery of this item, you clearly stated
that it was 5-7 working days including despatch.
You have not kept to your part of the contract...
and I reiterate this delivery was sent before the
weather issues.... discount-branded-perfumes got

We are dispatching orders within hours of the order being placed so I think you'll find that we are not in breach of anything. We have done all that is expected of us regarding your order so I fail to see what your issue is with us? I take offence at your remark that we do not care about customers, I care very much for our customers when it is reasonably in my control to help them, on this occasion a backlog in a mail system that is absolutley nothing to do with us is what I would consider as not reasonably under my control.

I have no proof that this tracking number was for my
product, send me a scan with my address next to that
tracking number... that's proof...
As at 14:25 on the 23rd December I still have not received any proper proof. I have started a paypal claim yesterday which they have not yet responded to. You can see from the transcript that I mentioned proper proof a few times and they never acknowledge that statement until the last moment, and just to inconvenience me even more they are going to keep my money to the last possible moment.
It's not the fact that the gift is late its the way they have dealt with it that matters the most.

There are also various banners on the site which when clicked upon take you straight to various offers such as the stock clearance section, kids section or stocking fillers for Christmas etc. With everything offered under the RRP I can easily spend a fair amount of time browsing the site.
You can also sign up for a newsletter or enter the monthly prize draw to win a bottle of fragrance by leaving your name and email details.
I find it very easy to navigate the site as it is clearly laid out and not cluttered. Purchasing items is a quick and easy process. Add the items to your basket then checkout using your credit or debit card via a secure server. Details of the security in place when paying by card for your order is explained on the site to give reassurance.
It is good to know however, that if you prefer not to pay by credit or debit card, that Paypal is also accepted.
I am impressed that the postage and packing charge for your order is only £1.95 for first class postage via Royal Mail, whatever the size of your order. I personally think this is very reasonable.
It is also possible to return items to Fragrance Direct for a refund if not happy and you have 28 days to do this. they must be unused and you are responsible for the return postage, unless the items are faulty or incorrect.
~~ My Experience ~~
Each time I have ordered from Fragrance Direct I have had no problems or complaints whatsoever.
My most recent order arrived a few days ago and once again I was more than happy with both the products and service received.
I ordered some cosmetics for both myself and my daughter and they are what I can only describe as absolute bargains. For example I bought a Maybelline lipstick last year from a local supermarket and paid over £6 for it. I couldn't believe it when I found the exact same lipstick here for just 99p! And the bargains didn't stop there. I ordered Bourjois lip glosses priced at 99p ( RRP £7.25) and nail varnish, eyeliners and lipsticks were all 99p too. My daughter found the eyeshadow she wanted at just 99p also.
It is a great way to find loads of stocking filler items for Christmas and I ordered 6 items all at 99p each, which is a fantastic saving.
I can also recommend you make your purchase via a cashback site such as Topcashback, where I received 9.09% cashback on my order too, making it even more of a bargain.
I received an email confirmation of my order immediately and a few days later my order arrived. It had been held up by the snow which is affecting all Royal Mail deliveries in the North East right now, otherwise it would have arrived sooner as it usually does.
My order was very securely packed in a small cardboard box filled with protective packaging to prevent any damage. All items were correct and intact. Once again a great bargain purchase and I have since been back for more.

They do some fantastic deals and when you visit the site you are bombarded with adverts for hugely discoutned lines and gifts, so it's hard to miss the savings. They even have a clearance section with even greater savings. Fragrance direct sell a lot more than just perfume, with their products listed under the headings of; fragrance, mens, gifts, cosmetics, skin care, bath and body, hair, at home, specials and brand. You can find brand name cosmetics at prices way below what you could ever find on the hight street, although stocks of their greatest bargains do go fairly quickly.
My recent bargains from Fragrancedirect include various shades of Bourjous Eau de Gloss lipgloss for 99p that had an RRP of £7.25 and a bottle of Roc tinted moisturiser for £3.99 with an RRP of £23.99! This is just a small example of the fabulous bargains that can be found on this site. If you are lucky enough to find your favourtie perfume stocked here then you are unlikely to find it cheaper anywhere else. Sometimes you will find that items are sold without their boxes but if this is the case it will be clear when you are ordering. I bought a lot of stocking presents from here this year and have placed at least 3 orders in the last month.
My only gripe swith Frangrance direct are with the site itself, I find it a little difficult to navigate so it can take a while to find things sometimes and once you have placed an item in your basket you can return to that item but not the department you were browsing. However I can't mark them down for that as their bargains are so good!
The postage charge is only £1.95 which I find very reasonable as I am often put off ordering from websites when I only want a few thigns if the postage charge is quite high. With it only being £1.95 you can easily justify placing a small order and know you are still making a decent saving.
All orders arrive incredibly well packaged and I enjoy playing lucky dip, fishing my small items out of a box full of packing peanuts!
I have a couple of family/friends with imminent birthdays on the horizon so I used Dooyoo to look for a couple of scents my girlfriend had pointed out to me recently. Both were Kate Moss Eau de toilettes - the 30ml gift set for £9.99 and the 'Midnight hour' 30 ml gift set also for £9.99.
Both these items appeared significantly reduced according to the website, but a subesequent price comparison search revealed that many other outlets and online retailers also had similar prices. I hadn't used Fragrancedirect.co.uk before, so I thought I would give them a try. Their website contained a few display errors in relation to product description and quantity size, and I thought this was a little amateurish for a professional company, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt.
I am usually quite peeved with high postage prices for online retailers, but in this occurance I wasn't too put off by the additional £1.95 charge. I completed my order and received a confirmation email, and a couple of days later I received my parcel.
The box was massive. Inside it was bulked out in polystyrene pices and two much smaller boxes were inside. I can understand this to an extent - as perfume bottles need to be protected in transit - but both the gift sets had a great deal of plastic to secure the contents firmly anyway.
The Pink Eau de toilette set was encased in a brown labeled shipping box, and this reassured me that the contents had been brand new when they were sent out to me, and the 'midnight hour' set had just a blue card box around an encased plastic shell. Upon a cursory examination nothing was amiss.
It was only later ( a matter of minutes) when my girlfriend wanted to look at the contents of both sets and smell them that she pointed out to me that the pink eau de toilette set had damaged packaging. I took it from her and the entire left side of the plastic shell that holds the contents in place for display was mangled, as if it had been stepped on or cut. It was invisible from the outside as you look at the presentation box.
Instantly I knew what had happened. This was a returned item and had not been sent to me as if it was brand new. There were traces of white cream around the screw cap of the body cream and when I took off the lid it, the bottle had clearly been squeezed before. I examined the outside card box/sleeve of the gift set, and there was no tell - tale circular sellotape that you usually associate with new items. This seemed to confirm my suspicions.
I then looked at the 'midnight hour' gift set box. This also did not have sellotape fastenings on the outside sleeving. I opened the box and it had depressions on the opening - as if someone had repeatedly opened and closed it before. There were scuff marks on the clear plastic front - where you view the product before deciding to buy it.
What I established was that both items were either second hand returned/refurbished items or ex-display models. This is not something I would expect to get with my first experience of a new retailer.
First impressions last, and there is no way I will be using this company again. In fact, I am minded to recount this tale everytime I hear someone talk about buying perfume in the future. Well done fragrancedirect.co.uk - you have acquired a dissatisfied and very vocal consumer in me.
Worst customer service experience! I have been a client to this site for some time now and have recommended to numerous friends until I experienced improper customer support. I ordered goods with tracked delivery services & paid for shipping insurance, but in some 5 days time recieved e-mail from Fragrancedirect that my goods were shipped back to them as the delivery company suggested "nobody collected". This was very strange to me as I ordered to an office building with 24-hour round reception desk. I wrote to the retailer about this, but reorderd the same staff again. My surprise was when for the second order the same happened and thus I lost Pounds 22 for each delivery! Fragrance simply told me to bugger off & speak to my office, while I did not order simple postage but tracked service! I am very disappointed!!!
