Advantages: None
Disadvantages: The worst customer service ever!!!, Not receiving refunds, Not being able to contact anyone.
I would whole heartedly suggest that you do not order games from this company. Back in September 2002, I ordered 2 copies of Battlefield 1942 for myself and a friend. I should have received these games on the day of release, but over a week later they had still not arrived. As I wanted to get playing, I cancelled my order with GamerUK.com and bought the game from elsewhere. I spoke to a customer service reprasentative who said that although the games hadn't left their warehouse, I had been charged but she would see to it that the money was refunded to me. It is now th 3rd December 2002 and I am still waiting to get my money back. The first excuse I received, (after waiting for nearly 2 months), was that the refunds computer system was down, so they could not refund my money. I then suggested they just send me a cheque if they were having hardware issues, and after disscussing it with her MD the customer servcie rep came back and said that this was OK and a cheque would be sent to me. This was on the 19th November and there is still no sign of the cheque. After waiting for a week or so I enquired why I still had not received a cheque, which would take 5 mins to write and put in the post and received the following reply; "I cannot apologise enough for the inconvenienced caused, my colleague in the validations department has been off sick for the pass few days, and I have fractured my wrist, so I am trying to do 5 jobs at once sole handed (literally.) So I have passed your details onto my MD, he has instructed me to advise you that a cheque will be dispatched early next week" So apparently there are only 2 people that can issue refunds according to this, and GamerUK.com are meant to be "one of the biggest on-line game retailers in Europe" Also, you can never actually get to speak to anyone on the phone, the line is either constantly engaged or there is no answer
, and if you e-mail a question or complaint you will have to wait usually about a week to receive each response. The last mail I sent, on the 29/11/02, stated that I was going to issue a small claims court action and asked if they could send a response ASAP and they as yet, (03/12/02) still have not replied. So in summary, if you like being in possesion of your own money and like to receive at least some form of customer service, I would recommend using an alternative company.

- 04/12/02 I am having the same problems with them now. They are useless and I am going to make it my mission in life to slag them off to everyone. They took my cash on the 19th Novemer and I haven't seen, heard or got anything from them. |

- 04/12/02 Thanks for the warning, matie!
You should try play.com, I've used them many times with no problems whatsoever. They generally seem to be one of the cheapest places around, too... |
