The Gamecube is a newish console that aint been out long. Its also the best console just now or atleast one of the best. The console itself is a pretty good size. Compared to an old console such as the Nes or even the PS2 its much smaller. Its also light so thats another added bonus. When buying this console you have two choices of either Purple or Black. I picked Black myself but their both the same. At the front of the Gamecube is four controller ports. So you can have up to four players at once playing. At the back the adapter plugs in. The best games console ever - period! I bought this console on the first day it was released, and to date it has served me admirably. OK so i can't play DVD's - big deal - I have DVD player AND a PC which does that for me. Nintendo have been developing games for over a 100 years - so they know a thing or two about the market. Your average gamer probaby won't like the look of the design - admit it looks a bit like a fisher price toy - but if you're after top notch graphics / fab sound and games that a fun - don't be fooled - this packs a mean punch.
