Advantages: Gift well presented and really pleased with the engraving and quality of product, quick delivery.

Disadvantages: Wish that a choice of chain lengths for the pendants, Have to pay for postage and packing.

It's my boyfriend's birthday in a few weeks time and I was in a panic, thinking what on earth do I get for the guy who seems to have everything. If he wants something he usually gets it, so it does leave me very limited, I don't want to end up giving him something he already has but I also don't want to have to ask what he wants for his birthday either. I knew he wore a bit of jewellery, so I thought about getting a piece engraved. During an internet search I stumbled across this website Gifts in Design.

Gift in Design is a family run business based in East Sussex. It started in 2004 as they wanted to provide affordable and original gift ideas as well as show off British Artist's and designer's talent and craftsmanship. They only sell online to enable them to keep prices low and they also package there items in recycled packaging materials. Many of their gifts can be personalised for that extra special touch.

The website itself is very simple looking, not over crowded, easy to navigate, with a list of gift sections on the left hand side of the screen and a selection of payment methods including PayPal. It also has feedback from customers who have purchased the items so it good to refer to when deciding and purchasing the goods.

I ordered the Solid Sterling Silver military style dog tag ID Pendant and had it engraved as a special keepsake. Quick and easy to order, filled in the normal details along with the font and message to be engraved and paid for it via PayPal. The estimated delivery was within 10 days but I received my gift on the 4th day. So I was well chuffed it arrived earlier than expected, beautifully engraved and presented in a gift box, packaging was minimal with just a Gift in Design business card. My only problem was with the chain itself it came as a 16" belcher chain, I doubt this is going to fit round my boyfriend's neck without looking odd so they could of done with a choice of chain lengths too. So I had to purchase a longer chain from somewhere else, otherwise it is a good gift.

Just recently my boyfriend's mum has passed away and now I feel like adding another gift to his birthday present with the Silver plated chunky rectangle shaped keyring and some engraving which doubles up as a locket and opens to hold 2 photos. Just so he can keep photos of both his parents in there. So I might just make another purchase on this site soon. Considering the great service this site provides, I will keep it in my bookmarks to refer to when buying gifts.
