I have taken a small number of supplements for many years now and naturally these can cost a lot of money. Whilst regular vitamin pills can be fairly cheep things like milk thistle (a good liver tonic) and green tea extract (immune system booster) can be expensive. Well since I discovered Healthy Direct I have saved a lot of money on these items as they are cheaper than high street shops. Not only this but the company was founded in Guernsey so their prices are always VAT free.

Whilst this is a company you have to order from hence you have to wait for your items to be delivered I have never had a problem with them and my orders have always been delivered within 4 days. However, they do say it may take up to 10 working days to arrive. To make things even better delivery within the UK is free. Most items are delivered in 'letterbox friendly' packaging hence if you are out the postman can put it through your letterbox so there is none of the annoying 'we are sorry you were out' card business.

The range on the website is outstanding and there are probably more items than most heath food shops would carry. The website is also very easy to use. There is the best sellers list as well as items which are 'on sale' and a 'clearance corner'. There is also a section for items which are suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Another good section is the 'how do you feel' tab. This brings up a selection of common problems such as 'I have high blood pressure' or 'I have high Cholesterol'. By clicking on one of these it takes you to the items which are meant to help. Naturally as with everything these will not work for everyone.

One of my favourite things about this company is their customer helpline and order line. For a start both of these are free phone numbers so even if you are kept waiting it won't cost you anything. This is perhaps something other companies need to look into providing. I have personally found the call centre staff to be very helpful and polite. If you prefer, you can order by phone as well which is useful for those amongst the population who are yet to get the Internet.

Once you have an account with Healthy Direct they will send you a catalogue every couple of months. This has a range of their products as well as 'combination orders'. This could be a reduced price for three certain products or 'three for the price of two' on others. These are always worth taking advantage of - as long as you want the products that is. There is also the 'offer code' which needs to be entered in the red box on the website. This code is on the most recent catalogue you were sent. By entering it it makes sure you get the special prices and promotions advertised. However, some of these in the past have required a minimum spend.

They have in the past also had some items specifically designed for children such as chewable lemon flavoured omega 3 fish oil tablets. However, if most children are like my nephew and I was when I was a kid they will work out what they are quickly and then not want to take them. Unlike most health food shops the website also has a section for pet heath as well as specific sections for men and women. Whilst the pet care section is small it does have useful items in it.

The company also has a 'golden guarantee' which states 100% satisfaction or your money back. This even applies to the taste of the liquid supplements which are available. Can you imagine trying to get your money back at a supermarket or another high street shop because you didn't like the taste of a supplement? Although I have personally not had reason to try this guarantee as I have not had a problem with any product it is reassuring to know the guarantee is there.
