I recently started shopping at House Of Fraser online. I actually never normally shop in the high street stores but I found myself on the website after searching for a particular hard to find brand of women's clothing. I discovered this site was one of the only sites in the UK selling the brand.
House Of Fraser sell clothing for women, men, children and babies as well as electrical items, accessories, footwear, home-ware and more. My only experience with them has been the purchases of ladies clothing but my experiences have helped me decide whether I would shop for any other item with this brand in the future.
The website is well designed and easy to navigate with a clear menu on the homepage showing options to search by brand or department. You can then further narrow down your search to specific items. I really love the fact that the clothing is so well described as well as the fact that the pictures are so clear with options to zoom in to see small details as well as to see certain clothes on a model or laid flat. They also often provide a close up of important details on the item. Each page also has a 'Find Your True Fit' option which is an interactive style size guide. However, I'd be cautious about the validity of this as when I filled in my details it said I would take a size smaller than I thought I would. I basically ignored this and went for the size I thought I was and I was right!
I do find the prices on the site quite high unless they are doing promotions. There are some great regular discounts though which can be very tempting especially when many of the items sold by House Of Fraser are exclusive brand names.
Deliveries are free unless you require a quicker delivery or specific day delivery. You can also order to pick up in a store that is local to you if this is more convenient. I've had items delivered to my home only and I'm happy with the service and the time taken for goods to arrive.
I will definitely shop at this website in the future and although I have only purchased clothing so far I'd be happy to consider purchasing other items given the ease of the purchasing process and the quality of both the delivery and the goods themselves.
I never normally made House of Fraser my first point of call, it used to be Debenhams but that's gone, just in my opinion, a little downhill and lost it's way.
However I receive a gift card this year for House of Fraser and have shopped there since and now need to tell everyone!
When I recieve the gift card there was a sale on, I thought House of Fraser was too pricey for me and had my credit card on stand by, however, I brought 5 items for £97.50, three sale items and two full priced items!
I know I was shocked too.
There jumpers from the following ranges by great brands.
YUMI JUMPPER £25]
VERO MODA [£18]
JANE NORMAN [£12]
All these were half price except for Jane Norman the jumper was only £12, a further dicount.
I brought two full price products
LANCOME DRAMA MASACARA [£22.50]
ESTEE LAUDER £25
Plus free delivery which came way earlier than expected, packed really well.
I know its teidous putting the prices but I really want to convince someone that the prices here are fantastic in a sale and to spend £100 and get five items I was thrilled and amazed by.
The website was very easy to navigate and they even have a buying guide that is surprisingly good despite it being virtual to buy the right sized clothes.
You have the luxury of knowing the stock is in or not in the comfort of your own home. I was also kept informed of the tracking of my parcel so I knew when it would arrive.
I applied for the recognition reward card and when you sign up they keep you informed of new lines, promotions, and how to increase you points to enable you to earn and save quicker. I have many cards but this actually works for me.
At the moment card holders only can earn 10 points for every £1 and once you earn 500 points it's £5, but when I was looking at the sales in the jewellery section there was plenty to buy there for £5 and the accessoires like gloves and scarves, so you can buy with little or save. You don't have to use the card instore to collect points shop online as well to collect them, and whatever way you pay online you can still collect the points.
There was even an invitation to join their customer panel. I jumped at the chance, not only do I love reviewing and reading reviews, but you have a chance to win gift cards to spend in House of Fraser.
I didn't realise the choice here was more edger than elsewhere that I mentioned.
The thing I liked and possibly a little geeky, is that I can review my order whenever I want, so I can review products in my own time, remember what I brought [!]- don't ask long story. But I like seeing my account on a safe secure site like this.
I know I will have many happy years shopping there, and I hope you do to and grab some bargains. [can't believe I wrote that about HoF!]
The popular department store house of fraser also has a website www.houseoffraser.co.uk from which I made my first purchase from last week and thought I would share my experience.
The website allows you to shop by department or brand and sells men’s, children’s & women’s clothing, shoes, bags & luggage, beauty, home, furniture, electricals and gifts. The site is fairly easy to navigate around, I was looking for a specific item so was able to use the search bar feature on the site to find the Havaiana flip flops my husband wanted. But if you are just browsing it is possible to sort and refine your search once you have selected what type of item you want to narrow down the results.
I was lucky as not only was the flip flops my husband wanted in stock but they were also in the sale too. It was very easy to select the size and colour flip flops I wanted and add them to my virtual bag. You also have the option at the selection point to check stock at your nearest store too which I think is a nice feature.
I was quite impressed with the delivery options available as you can choose to collect your item free from your local store or to have it posted to a UK or international address. I opted to have the item delivered to my local store to save on the cost of postage and also missing the delivery as I work full time and I was given several different days to select to collect my item. I opted for the earliest delivery day which was only two days after my order.
The checkout and payment process was also straight forward, I paid with my husband’s house of fraser recognition card but they also accept my major debit and credit cards as well as house of fraser gift vouchers and paypal. After I had completed the payment I was given a order number and received an email with this for my records. On the day my order was due for collection I received both a text message and email with detailed instructions of where in the store to collect my item.
Collection was from the collection point on the second floor of my local store and was quick and easy by just showing the member of staff my order number and waiting a few seconds for her to get the parcel. The flip flops were nicely packaged in tissue paper and a thick bright pink house of fraser sealed plastic bag.
Overall I have no complaints at all with this website I was able to find everything I needed, experienced no problems with the ordering or collection of my item which arrived in perfect condition, therefore I will certainly shop online with house of fraser again and recommend the website.
This shop is useless. Once again pay for same day postage and yet again they didn't deliver. First time on a wedding dress! Cam you imagine how careless that was And now on a incredibly important gift that I have a small window to present to someone tomorrow. I am going to make sure I let use as many forms of communication to let as many customers know how poor, and unsatisfactory your company is. You have taken my money and not provided me with my products, you should be ashamed with your service.
Wanted to order a bed and mattress on their website that I had seen in their store. The website is one of the most "un-userfriendly" sites I've come across. It makes it difficult to see what's what, poor images and poor descriptions.
When you do finally add a product to the basket and want to pay, the payment checkout process was one of the poorest I've seen in a long time.
To add to the frustration of the poor web experience, they call to book in a delivery time (outside of the 7 days that is promist on the website). When the delivery finally arrived, it was an external company (not house of fraser themselves). The headboard was missing and they didn't know where it was.
Upon calling customer services whilst the delivery drivers waited we were told that they didn't know if the headboard came with the bed at all. Customer services told us to refuse the delivery and reorder!
Not very helpful. Would not recommend and would never order again myself.
