Advantages: Variety of items; good service
Disadvantages: Expensive
Okay, I admit, I love doing jigsaws. They are amazingly therapeutic - my mind completely switches off from all cares and worries in the world. I'm too absorbed!
If any of you tend to buy jigsaws, you may appreciate what I'm saying - that high streets stores do not sell a great variety and I have yet to live/visit anywhere where there is a designated jigsaw shop. So I've searched and bought jigsaws online. Jigsawgallery.com is one of the better ones.
Jigsaws:
There is a wide variety to choose from and you can search by manufacturer; category, e.g. children's, fantasy, etc.; no. of pieces; and type of jigsaw, e.g. circular or 3d. There is probably something there to suit everyone.
Obviously, the quality of the jigsaws do depend on the manufacturer, but typically speaking they are very good.
Cost of jigsaws:
I think the downside of this shop is that it is rather expensive, although their special deals can be worth it. They have taken into account the recent VAT reductions, but I have noticed that prices are creeping up. It would not be a cheap visit to this site.
However, in fairness, to counteract this cost, this website allows customers to obtain Loyalty Points - I haven't come across this provision elsewhere. However, you need to spend £5.00 to get one point, and you need 20 points to get a free puzzle, so again you need to spend plenty here.
Customer service:
I haven't really had much cause to contact customer services, but on the rare occasion, I have found them to be pleasant and helpful. E.g. if an item you want has now sold out, they will try to contact you to discuss the next option (e.g. an alternative jigsaw). They don't just ignore this matter, which I have experienced under different circumstances elsewhere.
Delivery:
There are various options for delivery, but again, costs are not cheap. You'll be looking at least £5.00 for the most standard of deliveries.
Website:
Lots of colour on this website and a lot of information - everything you need to know is available. It does appear chaotic, particularly at first, and it can take one or two visits to get used to navigation around the site. There are also plenty of links to other sites, which can be distracting, but what I do like is that one or two of the links are very useful, e.g. a Puzzle Doctor. Without the site, I may not have come across it.
Your account contains information on your orders, including order tracking, previous orders, and cancellation services. You can also develop a favourites list and see you Loyalty Points total.
Overall rating:
Jigsaws aren't for everyone, but for those of you who like them, I do recommend Jigsawgallery. Good services all round.
Major downside, however, is that it is expensive!
Summary: A jigsaw shop that delivers
