“ Jokers' Masquerade offers a large selection of adult fancy dress costumes and Halloween costumes. No costume is complete unless it is accompanied with accessories. „
my product arrived quickly, a bit creased but everything was there, it was cheap, good quality and over all a good product. I needed it for my school world war 2 topic that started the day after this arrived. it fits perfectly and is really efective. I would reccomend this to people doing WW2 topics because it is very comfy and is relalistic.
On receiving the "Police costume" it arrived with the plastic collars and peak of the police hat, that are meant to look plastic were so creased to look awful.
The hat is so small it would barely fit a child. The response for their customer services was:-
"We note your comments and we do state on the webpage that the hat for this costume comes up on the small side and may need a pin to hold in place."
How on earth would a pin help if you cant even get it on!
My daughter who had ordered was so keen for it to look ok, as party a few days later unpicked the hat to get it on, and the company wont do a thing. The costume cost £36 and really isn't worth it.
Shocking quality of all the other outfits too.
Very fast delivery service, but that is where the positives end - don't use this site!
I was quite simply browsing for a fancy dress costume. I had an invite for a fancy dress party a month away so I was in no rush whatsoever. I was working my way down the google listings from the top after searching "fancy dress", jokers masquerade were 1st and I only visited the lower down sites to compare prices.
In the end I went for a Sexy Ninja Turtle costume, it was cheaper at JM than the other sites I checked, many websites didn't have it at all. Jokers masquerade also informed me there were only 3 in stock of my size so based on that I decided to buy it there and then. As my party wasn't for a while I was in no rush and decided on the 5 day delivery. To my utter disbelief the costume was waiting for me on my doorstep the very next day. I was quite simply flabbergasted. I tried the costume on and it fit me beautifully as the sizing on the website suggested it should.
I don't have the need to buy fancy dress very often but I am looking forward to my next invite to a fancy dress party so I can go back to the site and find another great costume.
Over the years I have collected alot of fancy dress costumes. This has mainly been down to alot of people deciding that for their birthday they wanted to go for a fancy dress theme - this inevitably led to more and more people wanting to do the same thing in a bid to make it bigger and better than the last.
I discovered Jokers Masquerade whilst looking for a fancy dress costume quite awhile ago and have never looked back. I have converted all my friends to using them too because they are that good!
The website itself is very easy to use. The homepage has costumes for the next possible day for you to dress in fancy dress - at the moment its St Georges Day. It also shows some of the more popular themes such as pirates and film favourites. What I love about the home page is that there is a quick search where you enter your gender, the price you want to pay and what you want to be and it will find a choice of costumes for you.
The site is so easy to navigate, you can choose if you want adults fancy dress, pet fancy dress, childrens fancy dress and lots more! The site is easily split up so if you go for adults fancy dress you can look at men/women or a certain theme such as medievil, heroes & villans and doctors & nurses.
Once you have chosen what type of costume you want there is usually a large variety available. Whats great about the site is that there is large selection at different prices. This means you can buy a fancy dress costume for £20.00, but prices do go up to near the £100.00 area for 'elite' costumes. Prices on the site can be a little more expensive than on other sites but their service is so good that its worth it - I have had problems with other sites taking ages sending items out or not actually stating they dont have it in stock, this is paticularly annoying if buying for a party thats a couple of weeks away.
When you pick the costume you want, you get a more detailed description of what the costume is made up of and what sizes are available. I think you do need to be careful with the sizes you choose and make sure you get something thats likely to be a little larger than just right or a little small. I have seen many people struggle to get in to their costume or have to use only part of the orignal costume as some bits were too tight to fit. This is obviously a waste of money so make sure you know its going to fit with room to spare - you can always pin it if its a bit too big! The site also recommends items that would match the costume, a great way to tempt you to buy extras.
I think you do need to be prepared to pay at least £30.00 for a costume. I have had friends who havent wanted to spend much money - around £20.00 and their fancy dress outfits look ok - but nothing special. £30.00 will buy an outfit that looks good and has some nice detail to it. However, if you really want to splash the cash then buying an elite costume is the way to go. I had a friend who bought an 'elite' pirate costume and it looked amazing, though at the price definitely something that needs to be reused!
An example of a fancy dress costume I have bought from there was the 'mesmerizing mermaid' costume - bought for a disney themed birthday. The costume itself cost around £30.00, made up of a halterneck top and a skirt. Its good quality and made out of material covered in shiny sequins, with fin details on the skirt. With this I was tempted to buy an 'extra' and bought a seaweed boa for £10.00 - this was expensive but looked really good and did add to the outfit. The site does recommend a red wig to go with this for another £10.00 but I decided that it was too expensive and I didnt really want to wear an itchy wig, instead I opted for the cheaper alternative of using semi-permenant red hair dye (bought seperately). All in all, this costume, with delivery cost around £45.00 from the site.
The site offers lots of different delivery options so if you are in a rush you can get your outfit delivered next day. However, the cost of delivery can be quite expensive. Normal delivery is £4.95, very reasonable taking around five days. However, next day delivery costs between £10.00 and £20.00 depending on what time you need it to arrive. I have always found delivery to be really good whenever I have ordered from here, with the items well packaged and wrapped.
If you need a fancy dress costume then I cant recommend this site highly enough. Its really easy to use and the site is very clear but you do need to be careful with your sizing and with this site be prepared to spend your cash and not save it by buying online.
www.joke.co.uk - go have a look its a good website even if you dont want any fancy dress items. However be warned, if you do have a dog, the costumes for pets are so cute and funny you might just be tempted!
Having been invited to a fancy dress party I was quite excited until I got told I have to go as someone American! I was stuck.. What the hell can I go as?
Anyways after looking on www.joke.com I found lots of different outfits from TV and Film to Disney Characters. I decided to go as Minnie Mouse and my boyfriend wanted to go as Buzz Lightyear!
I ordered the costumes and choose the standard delivery of about £4, as I have another 3 weeks until the party.
I was surprised but please when it arrived the next day! The box was quite big and I thought this is a big box for a fancy dress costume.
When I got home (I had it delivered to work) and opened it I found how well they have packed it. I was very impressed. Each costume came in a bag which was all zipped up!
The costumes them self are excellent quality! The Minnie mouse one is great and fits perfectly!
The buzz lightyear one is a bit small for a boyfriend.
This is where I was a bit disappointed.
I phoned them to ask for an exchange and they said I would have to pay the return delivery which I said was fine. She said they then have to refund the product back onto my card and then I have to re do the order. I said okay that's fine, as they do not except maestro I paid on my credit card. She then told me it would take 14 days to be refunded. So I now have to pay out another £50 for the outfit and £4 delivery and still have to wait for a refund. I think this is a silly way to deal with refunds.
Also I noticed my Minnie mouse outfit had a make up make on the top of it. I told the girl on the phone about it and they are refunding me 5% of the price.
I would defiantly use this company again! Just a bit disappointed in the returns policy!
One of the problems with the current obsession with all things Halloween is the seeming need for grown people to go around dressed in silly costumes. I have to admit that I have been forced to go to a Halloween party myself this Friday and am currently looking for a costume, which I really am not going to enjoy wearing, but heigh ho, I'm told I have to get one so I guess I'll have to.
This need took me to joke.co.uk where one can buy lots of different kinds of costumes. I have to say that the prices that are charged are exhorbitant - over £100 for a Pinhead costume (Pinhead is one of the characters in the movie HELLRAISER). If you are spending that on a costume then you must be made of money.
The best part of the site is the section for pet costumes - the pictures made me laugh bu I have to feel sorry for the poor pets being forced to wear these things. Seeing a dog dressed as Superman or Wonder Woman is a sight to behold.
The site is worth looking at if you need a costume and want to spend a lot of money on it. Why you'd want to do that though is beyond me.
The occupational hazard of working in the people-orientated business of recruitment is that you are inevitably going to have associations with the normal and the nutty of personalities. Consequently, it is highly probable you are going to receive an invitation to a fancy dress party at some point. There are about ten million themes one of these parties can take, and the one I so happened to be invited to was a 'pimps and ho's' party. I will say now that being a 'ho' was not an option for a macho man such as myself. Either way, I did not have a single thing, as you'd imagine, in my wardrobe to reflect a pimp. Therefore, what were my options?
Luckily, the recent emergence of retailers of fancy dress costumes has caused the industry to take a giant leap. Four years ago, costumes were unobtainable, particularly not in the variety where you could buy it, most costumes were for hire. Typically, if you are a party-goer unlike myself, you are probably going to attend a few parties during the popular seasons of Halloween and Christmas, and maybe once or twice at other times of the year for general random fancy dress parties. Buying costumes, but at a very reasonable price, is therefore an appealing solution than hire options.
When I typed into Google 'fancy dress costumes', one of the first websites that manifested on the results page fortunately happened to be a locally based fancy dress giant. It also just so happened to be one of the world's best online retailers of fancy dress costumes - Jokers Masquerade.
Jokers Masquerade is the brainchild of Managing Director Mark Lewis. The business originated from humble beginnings, operating from a shed back in 2001. With use of a strong vision, strategy and business acumen, Mark rapidly created an empire, spearheading Jokers into the world top 5 of online fancy dress retailers, and among the top 2 in the UK. They now operate in a 40,000 sq ft premises in Newbury and have a product range that comprises of well over 10,000 fancy dress costumes.
Jokers Masquerade's most recent and famous exposure to the media arose when a selection of players from Liverpool's Premiership football team, which included Peter Crouch, were snapped sporting their fancy dress costumes at a Christmas Party in 2006.
You can buy any fancy dress item supplied by Jokers Masquerade on their website - www.joke.co.uk. You are also able to purchase via the phone, the number of which is on the website.
Visually, the site is very colourful and attractive, and each and every product they stock is modelled by a person of the appropriate age and sex.
The homepage allows access to a variety of different categories along the left hand side of the page and along the top, meaning you have a variety of pages - such as 'Half price items', 'New lines', 'Promotions', and 'Wholesale' pages, accessible for one central location. A solution to your problem is therefore easy to find within seconds.
From the website, you are even able to view a live webcam feed of the warehouse, sales office and front door area. The reasons for this, I believe, are because they are an open and transparent company and to give consumers an insight into how effectively the operation is run.
Jokers Masquerade provides costumes for any occasion, for any age, and for any part of the body.
Bodywear - This range consists of everything you could possibly imagine, from normal to naughty and bold to banal. If you want to dress like Elvis, Ali G, a pimp, a pirate, a barbarian, a playboy bunny or superwoman, you can get those costumes here. These are available in adult sizes, ith teen and children sizes sold where appropriate.
Face masks and gear - There is a wide range of high quality face masks available, in order to allow you to look like your favourite hero or villain, such as Freddy Krueger, George Bush, The Queen, Mick Jagger and Saddam Hussain. Moreover, you are able to purchase beards, sideburns, moustaches and wigs. The wigs range is vast - you can obtain judicial, regal, eighties, rockstar and TV character wigs.
Headgear and footwear - To add finishing touches to your masquerade, you can get a massive range of hats, such as witch, cowboy, police, pirate, bowler and top hats. Furthermore you can purchase a range of shoes such as high heels and thigh boots.
Costume Accessories - To compliment your outfits, you can also purchase accessories such as jewellery, toy weapons, sunglasses, nails and gloves. These can be purchased for very cheap prices and look very good.
Mascot gear - If you just so happen to feel the need to dress up in mascot gear, e.g. looking like a bear or teddy or football mascot, even this option is available.
Lastly there are seasonal costumes such as Christmas and Halloween fancy dress, which are available all year through.
Jokers has the licence to produce clothing ranges for the below films, cartoons and tv programmes. This means that for either you or your children, you are able to purchase very cool and well-known suits within the following classifications:
Superman - this includes various Superman and Supergirl costumes, such as the muscle chest version of the former and sexy version of the latter.
Harry Potter - you can find Gryffindor, Slytherin, Quidditch and Death Eater outfits along with wands and wigs.
Star Wars - here you will fit costumes of Yoda, Darth Vader, Chewbacca, and Jedi Knights along with light sabers and helmets.
Marvel Heroes - you will find the superhero costumes of the Incredible Hulk, X-men, Captain American and many others.
Nightmare of Elm Street - you can dress as Freddy Kruger and terrify your friends at the party.
This just goes to indicate the level of success this company has managed to achieve in that they have been allowed, by very well known brands, to supply these costumes to the public. It also shows that these brands also must have trust and faith in the quality and reputation that Jokers Masquerade has built.
Due to the ease of navigation around the site, I was able to find the range that catered for pimps and ho's party within the space of 30 seconds. Luckily I did not actually have to buy one because, having a lovely young son, I was able to decline the invitation... "Boo" I hear you all saying... I bet you were looking forward to seeing some pictures of me looking ridiculous. Having said that, with my group of friends, I won't be able to avoid these parties forever. Should I be invited to a fancy dress party which is more my taste, I have a supreme resource at my hands.
A friend did accept the invitation, and due to living in the same town as Jokers Masquerade, was able to purchase online and pick up at the company address of Bone Lane in Newbury. If you happen to live close, this is a great option in order to get your item instantly. Delivery is also an option, which is explained below.
The costume my friend bought was a purple Adult Pimp Suit & Hat, which costs £20.99 on the website. The quality of the costume was very high - the colour was very rich, and the detail was realistic so as to not make him look like a caricature. The strength of the material was also excellent, given the very reasonable cost of the item, showing that Jokers do not sacrifice quality for price.
The only aspect of the service that my friend had issue with was the customer service side. When he called to clarify that 'Customer Collect' at the premises was an option, it took seven minutes of being on hold before finally getting through to an advisor.
Delivery is obviously an option, and items purchased before 4pm will normally be sent out the next day. The normal delivery time is 3 to 5 days, which costs £4.99 for any size or shaped costume. There are premium options which cost more but will get decrease delivery times, such as the 1 day guarantee option and the 'next day by 9am' option, meaning that they want to do their best to meet the demands of customers.
For international consumers, delivery is available at different costs to Europe, but at a price of £40 minimum for USA and the rest of the world.
Jokers Masquerade gives the appearance of an absolutely world class retailer. The website is professional, visually attractive, easy to navigate around and answers any possible question you should have about Jokers' service. The product range is gargantuan - you will virtually find any character you'd like to dress as or any theme of party you would go to.
The efficiency of the operation is obviously very good - items are despatched very quickly and will arrive at your door within five days, and also there are tailored options for other consumers to get their costumes sooner, which means for the customer that Jokers Masquerade is a hard working retailer that endeavours to meet and satisfy a wide variety of needs.
I can honestly say, in conclusion, that unless I was to be invited to a fancy dress party with the most unbelievable and out of this world theme, Jokers Masquerade can provide a costume for party.
