Advantages: Quality
Disadvantages: Not the cheapest
I've only bought the shirts from this company so will tell you about them. They also do other gents' stuff - shoes, ties, cufflinks, etc.
They make really nice shirts, with lots of options available. Almost all are 100% cotton, and the cotton comes in various grades, including poplin and long strand. The variety I the catalogue is very good, and the pictures both on paper and on the website are a very accurate reflection of what is being sold.
Best of all, you have a choice of styles for each shirt - regular or French cuff (i.e. a choice between buttons and cuff links), pocket or no pocket (a pocket adds £5) and also the choice of shorter sleeves (£9).
Shirts come in a variety of colours - and can be plain, stripey, checked, or "party", with a choice also of style between formal and relaxed.
The price requires a bit of patience. According to the catalogue, they cost a basic £53, but you never have to pay that. The best I've seen is £26, and you usually get at least a quarter off the £53, and virtually always more. It's worth waiting around a bit for seasonal drops, and winter is often a good time to buy.
You pay a little bit for delivery - around a fiver, but then if you are buying more than one shirt, this isn't much more than paying petrol and parking, or a train fare.
They wash well and iron beautifully.
Summary: Well worth a look, though check out the competition too
