Advantages: Easy ordering, quick, very efficient
Disadvantages: having to wait in for delivery ?
I have for some time wanted a better printer; I have an Epson 440 which cost about £125.00 when I bought it 2 years ago and it has done me proud but I love doing graphics and pictures etc so decided to upgrade but to what ? I’ll look on Dooyoo I thought – see what the other have to say. Being happy with my Epson I concentrated on them and found a very good Op. on the Epson 890 which sounded just what I was looking for. I checked out the prices with Dealtime and found quite a variation but it was definitely cheaper to buy on the web. Another dilemma, which company could I trust, who would deliver quickly and efficiently? Again I turned to the Dooyoo Ops and decided that Jungle. com sounded quite good; not the cheapest but then my Mum always said – “you get what you pay for ” so I am always suspicious of the cheapest deal. I also checked the prices of the cartridges which were much cheaper than I could buy locally or from my normal office supplier so I also ordered these. The printer too was £26.00 cheaper than at my local Staples store - quite a saving. I linked to their site( on 25th May ) and it took no time at all to process my order and I immediately received an e-mail confirming my order in great detail so that if there had been an error I could have done something about it straight away. When ordering I was told that the printer was not in stock but should be available within 7 days. Three days later I received another mail asking if I would like to split my order as the printer was still not in stock; as I could not use the ink cartridges without the printer I did not bother to reply. The following day ( 31st. May) another mail arrived to say that my order had been shipped with Parceline and I could check the progress of my order with them if I entered the order number. Today I logged on – checked my order – it was on the van for delivery today & with that, my doorbell went and t
here it was ! Such efficiency is to be admired if not wondered at; I just thought it was brilliant service and I will not think twice about ordering from Jungle.com again. Seven days they said and seven days it was. The printer ? agh! I think I will wait for my ‘little man’ to install it for me. Something about USB and parallel ports has got me all of a tiz! Will let you know what I think of it when it’s up and running. Then again – I might just try and do it myself – it’s the only way to learn isn’t it? Watch this space.

- 02/06/01 I like Jungle, too. It's very easy to look things up, and there are links to the manufacturers' sites. Good op. |
