Advantages: Quick and easy to order, meanu is available online

Disadvantages: Its quicker to phone if you know what you want

I have just made my first order with Just-Eat, so I thought I would write a review and tell you all about it.

Today I realised that I didn't have anything that was quick to cook for tea and I really couldn't be bothered with cooking a meal that takes too long, so I decided to go for a take away.

I couldn't find any take away menus and I wasn't really sure what I fancied. I went online to try and find menus for local takeaways but didn't have much luck, then I remembered I heard somewhere about an online order service.

I did consider using Dominos or Pizza Hut delivery, but they are pretty expensive so I typed 'online takeaway ordering' I got a big list of places where you order online and get it delivered, but they were mostly for a single establishment, so I kept searching through and I found Just-Eat.

The first thing to do is register, this is super quick, you just need to enter your name, address, e-mail address and contact telephone number, then select a password - your username is your e-mail address.

When you have registered, you are ready to start ordering. You can either input the first part of your postcode, or click on your area on the map. If you select the latter, you will have a list of postcodes in your area come up on the screen. Select your postcode and there will be a list of local takeaways.

Obviously not every takeaway in your area will be listed, as establishments need to be in partnership with Just-Eat, although if you regularly order from somewhere, it is possible for you to suggest the establishment to Just-Eat and they look into adding the takeaway to their site.

In my area there were 8 places, 7 of these were curry houses, the 8th was a mixed menu, offering kebabs, burger, pizza, side orders such as chips, fried chicken, I could go on. This place even delivers lasagne!

I chose to order from the 8th place as I was ordering for other people too and it gave us more choice. Having clicked on the icon for the restaurant I chose, the screen gives a full menu. Against each item a box to write the quantity of that product which you would like to order, next to that is a plus sign, when you click on that, it will add the item to your order.

When you have finish ordering, click to place order, this will take you to a page with an order summery which includes a box to add comments. The comments box can be used if you do not want and sausage on your meat feast pizza for example, by writing in the box, the restaurant will know not to include sausage. You can also write directions to your home if it's hard to find, I put some delivery instructions in the box as I am difficult to locate as we are tucked away.

On the summer page you also have the option of adding extra toppings to a pizza; you will also see a little reminder about ordering drinks if you wish to. There is also a drop down menu for you to choose the delivery time, you can pick an actual time, or ask for it to be delivered as soon as possible.

When your order is complete, confirm your address, click confirm and you will be taken to the payment page. You have the option of paying by credit or debit card there and then, or you can choose to pay cash on delivery. I personally chose cash on delivery because I had never used the site before and didn't know how safe it was. I think in future I would be happy to pay by card though as I have now read positive reviews from others.

When you have chosen your payment method and clicked order, the screen will show that the restaurant of your choice is being contacted and being asked for confirmation that they can accommodate your order. The screen will then confirm your order and tell you when to expect it. You will also have a reference number on the screen, I was not asked for this when my order arrived, but if you paid by card I think it might be asked for as the screen asks you to make a note of it as you may be asked for it.

When your order has been placed and confirmed, an e-mail will be sent to you with full details of your order in it.

My order was due to arrive at 10.30, it arrived at around 10.25 so I was pretty pleased, especially considering the restaurant is about a 20 minute drive from us, my order was made at 9.50 and of course they had to cook it all first, so a 34 minute wait was go.

The delivery is then the responsibility of the restaurant rather than Just-Eat, but I will include it anyway.......

I wasn't overly impressed with the delivery person, she was not very polite, and I kind of felt like it was a big hastle for her to be there. My order came to £21.65, I gave £22, was handed my food without another word from the delivery person, I said thank you and she just walked off! Now, I know I was only due 35p change, but it would have been nice to have been at least offered my change. Usually I let the delivery person keep small amounts of change (so long as they have been polite); this woman was in no way polite and not to have offered me my change in out and out bad manners.

So, we all sat down and unpacked the food and began to eat, my partner than asked me for the bag with the onion rings in, but I had already unpacked all the bags. We had to ring up the restaurant and tell them our onion rings were missing. I checked my e-mail and I had ordered and paid for them and they were not in our order. I also asked for 2 pots of sauce as I had forgotten to order them.

Unfortunately the same delivery woman came back to us. By the time she arrived with the sauce and onion rings 30 minutes after we had called to say they were missing, we had eaten most of the other food. She knocked on the door, pushed the bag towards me, said 'okay' and walked off - charming! At least we got the 2 pots of sauce free though; she walked off before I had the chance to offer her any money.

I am happy with the Just-Eat service and it was a good experience with the exception of the lady, who made the delivery, but she is not part of Just-Eat, they are only responsible for the placing of the order. Just-Eat do ask you to let them know if there were any problems, or to contact them with some feedback about the delivery.

I was quite pleased to find that by using Just-Eat, I could also earn some rewards. Firstly, I am a member of the cash-back site Greasy Palm and I have the rebate catcher so it registers every site I visit that earns a commission with Greasy Palm automatically. The message box popped up telling me I would get 2.5% cash-back on my purchase. As well as the cash-back, Just-Eat also award you with points which can be swapped for different things such as t-shirts, money off vouchers and charity donations.

If you want to earn extra points you can refer people to Just-Eat, my link to Just-Eat is - http://www.just-eat.co.uk/pages/Reffer.aspx?userid =240081
If you do decide to use Just-Eat, if you wouldn't mind using my link to get me a few extra points that would be fab, and you will also earn points when you order and pass your link on to people.

I have saved Jus-Eat in my favourites and I will definitely use them again. I hate using the telephone and always make my partner call for a take away, now I can just do it online and I can see the menu too. I am going to send in suggestions for some of my favourite takeaways too so hopefully they will be added.

Just-Eat is a really good idea and is so simple to use, I highly recommend it.

Summary: I will be using Just-Eat again !
