I have hit and miss purchases from the La Redoute website I have bought both clothes for the kids and myself over the last year since signing up for the account. Last Summer I purchased lovely good quality outfits for my girls but one of the outfits did not have much wear in it and the stitching came undone only after a few washes. The length of delivery time is ridiculous which is really off putting when there are so many companies offering next day delivery. I would probably purchase more if delivery was free and no in a rush for the items because it takes so long to come back. However I have returned items and they were added bak onto my account quite promptly. I have recently ordered my winter coat from the catalogue whch took a long seven days to come back but when it arrived I love its quality is up to scratch on trend and reasonably priced.
I'VE HAD AN ACCOUNT WITH LAREDOUTE FOR YEARS AND I SWEAR I HAVE NEVER PURCHASED ONE ITEM OF CLOTHING THAT I DID NOT RETURN TO THEM. THEY USE SUCH CHEAP FABRICS THE CLOTHES NEVER LOOK LIKE THEIR PHOTOS, THEIR SIZES DIFFER FROM ONE ITEM TO ANOTHER AND THEIR SO CALLED DISCOUNT CODES NEVER WORK!!!!!! I'VE RECEIVED DOZENS OF CODES OVER THE YEARS, I FOLLOW THEIR TERMS + CONDITIONS RELIGIOUSLY AND THEY STILL DO NOT WORK, NEVER, NOT 1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I ordered a pair of curtains from La Redoute and waited two weeks befor phoning to find out what was happening. They told me that the curtains were on order from France and would be despatched within two weeks. Two weeks later the curtains hadn't arrived so I called again and was told that there had been a delay and that the curtains would arrive within two weeks. A package arrived after a total of nearly eight weeks and contained one curtain. I rang cutomer services and was told that the curtains were sold individually.
I do not believe that La Redoute are at all serious about internet shopping. The responses from customer care are terse and unhelpful. fulfilment is painfully slow, descriptions of goods are inaccurate and so on and so on. My advice is to try anywhere else for your shopping, it couldn't be a worse experience than at La Redoute.
I ordered a dress from this site a couple of months ago. It was cheap and the delivery cost wasn't expensive, which was great.
However, the site was very difficult to use. I kept getting warnings from Firefox that the pages could easily be read by someone else (even the page where you enter card details! There was no secure sign like you get on places like Amazon or any other online shop), and it was generally awkward in terms of entering information because it wouldn't remember things entered and it took me four tries to actually place an order.
Two weeks later, no product. I logged in, and it told me that they had taken the money from my bank account. Usually sites wait until an item is ready for/has been dispatch. When I logged in a couple of days later, it told me again that they'd taken money from the bank- but it said they'd done it that day. So I panicked, believing they'd taken two payments from my bank rather than one. It turned out they had only taken one payment, but the website does not make this clear.
I e-mailed customer service to find out what had happened with my order. It takes five days for them to respond to you, which is frustrating as more well-known busier companies only take two to three days to respond. So if you're panicking about an order, it'll only worry you further.
Thankfully, the lady who responded was polite, and apologised and said the product would be sent ASAP. I received the product the next day. It fitted well, and doesn't seem tacky. Unfortunately, the shade is much darker than advertised. The photo showed a very light blue; the dress is teal coloured. Thankfully, I like teal anyway. But if the shade of something is very important to you, you may be disappointed.
Stupidly, I didn't research this company before I ordered from them. While waiting for my product, the reviews I found online for the company were majorly negative; only a small minority gave three stars or more. Luckily, I did receive my product, even if it was very late and the wrong colour. I also received a letter of apology a couple of weeks later saying that they'd been updating their website and payment system, which was the reason for the delay. However, no-one had bothered telling me about this before, the new system was clearly not without fault, and the lateness of the product arrival would put me off ordering from the site again in case I needed the product in time for a certain event (like I needed this dress- so I'm very glad I ordered it a couple of months before!).
My advice would be to read any reviews you can find and decide whether you're willing to risk ordering. I'm thankful I received my product and had a polite, helpful person responding to my query, plus they send packages by Royal Mail rather than the atrocity that is HDNL! But I probably would not risk ordering from here again, because I experienced some problems and an awful lot more people have experienced far worse.
For a very long time I didn't even bother looking at what kind of stuff La Redoute sold because I was a little off put by its French name. Not that I have anything against the French but I find the style of clothing not really my cup of tea. However after seeing such big discount offers available I thought I would have a peek and was actually pleasantly surprised.
La Redoute has a very simple to use website that has mainly men's, women's and children's clothes but also stocks some home furnishings too. Each is separated into it's own category, making it simple to use whether you are after something in particular or just want to browse. I have only ever ordered Women's clothing so I can not comment for anything else really.
All the clothes are pictured clearly and there is also the option to zoom into the pictures much closer which can be so helpful in seeing the finish and quality of the item a little better. Items of clothing start off at a very reasonable price and La Redoute even has it's own Mini Price range for very affordable, but simple pieces. The style of clothing wasn't as 'out there' as I expected but I would say La Redoute is suitable for a variety of ages and styles and might even encourage you to try something slightly different to what you would normally wear.
I have placed 4 or 5 orders with La Redoute so far and I have always been pleased with whatever I have ordered. As I mentioned before there are usually many discounts available for so much money off so I would never order without one of these discounts. It can make such a big difference to what you end up paying although the discounts are not usually available on their Mini Price or discounted items. They do have a finance option available but I have never looked into this, preferring to only buy what I can afford rather than go mad. Delivery is 3.99 per order no matter how much you want and it takes about 3-5 days for your items to arrive as they are sent from France. It is a shame there is no express delivery option, although I imagine if they introduced that it would be very pricey.
Thankfully so far I have not had a bad experience with this company or been unhappy with any of my purchases so I shall continue to shop with La Redoute from time to time. Compared to some mail order/online offerings they can be very reasonably priced and offer something a little different.
I first used this site the other day to buy some clothing. I found the site easy to navigate, and very user friendly. Some of the full-price clothes are quite pricey (well, a top I saw was £40 - thats pricey to me!) but they have sections on the site for "Basics" and "Sale". In the Basics section, they have staple items such as T-shirts, jersey tops, trousers and skirts for work etc. Basically causal type clothes. I found several bargains in the Sale section, a lot of items had up to 70% off. They have a handy "Stock Availability" viewer, which shows you at a glance which colours and sizes are in stock, out of stock, or how many weeks you will have to wait for the item. When I ordered they had an introductory offer of £15 off your first order when you spend £20, which I thought was pretty good! You have the option to pay by credit or debit cad, or you can open a credit account with them. I went for the credit account. When you get your statement through you get three options for payment: you can either pay off the balance in full, or make the minimum payment of 5% (but get charged 29.9% apr interest) or pay it off in three equal instalments and pay no interest. It was easy to apply for the account and they emailed me to inform me of the status of my order.
The only thing that bothers me about the site is that you can't always see the different colour options available for the items, you just have to go by the description like "Peacock Blue"!!
A great site overall though.
