Advantages: Makes you appear a top-notch chef, Arrives on time, Truly yummy
Disadvantages: pricey
i recently won a competition for a Leaping Salmon meal for 2 on another website, so off I trotted to look at the menu. Certainly got the tastebuds going - mind you the prices are a bit dodgy. The meal I chose was the Beef wellington described as follows: Succulent fillets of Angus Beef, encased in Chicken Liver Pâté, Mushrooms, Cognac and Truffle Oil and wrapped in Parma Ham and Puff Pastry. Served with a rich Madeira Sauce, Sautéed Potatoes and Red Cabbage. normally priced at £19.95 for 2 It duly arrived on the date I picked and I unwrapped it all with some trepidation. lo and behold - lots of little plastic boxes and bottles with everything but the utensils to cook it in. I was well impressed. Cooking was easy-peasy - wrap up the wellingtons and bung in the oven, saute the potatoes and warm up the cabbage. It was truly delish. Leaping Salmon deliver anywhere. Basically they deliver food kits - All the ingredients are weighed and separately packaged, together with all the instructions. There are different levels from easy to tricky, depending on your level of skill. I can recommend this to people who have the dosh to spare and who aren't that kosher in the kitchen, or if you really want to impress someone - the Mother in law for example.

- 01/02/02 This has the potential to be a great op - flesh it out and watch those VU's roll in! i read about leaping salmon in the metro the other day. What I would
like to know is, is the food really any better than, say, spending a similar amount of money in marks and spencers?
It sounds tasty - but is it worth the effort? Cheers, Kaz |

- 01/02/02 Hi, sorry for the SU, but well, it does not help somebody who is considering using the site that much. I know you won your meal, but what are the prices? What is the range if other food like? All these things are important for other consumers who may want to use this site.
Sorry for coming across as a grump, but I am sure that you rather heard the truth. |
