I originally ordered from letsbuyit.com because they offered by far the cheapest price for the products I was looking for, and I'd been impressed by their polished advertising. Big mistake. They may be cheaper but the service is absolutely abysmal. I will never, ever buy anything from this site again, and I wouldn't recommend them to anybody else either, cheap they may be, but cheerful they aint!

The concept at letsbuyit.com is simple. The more people who order an item, or "join a co-buy" as letsbuyit.com call it, the cheaper the item will become until it reaches the preordained lowest price.

I ordered a CD-RW at the beginning of August, I was a little unhappy that it was going to take up to 15 working days after the end of the co-buy to receive it, but decided that the price, which was extremely good, was worth the wait.

Well, 15 working days came and went with no delivery and it was now the end of August. After 17 working days I was, understandably, quite annoyed so I called letsbuyit.com's customer service number to find out what had happened to my order only to find out that they didn't even have any CD-RW's in stock two days after I was supposed to have received mine!

After half a dozen phone calls and several e-mails I finally received my order three weeks later than the final delivery date they gave me, which was six weeks after the co-buy had closed.

What really riled me about the whole thing is that I was not kept informed of the status of my order at all. I only found out what was happening by contacting them, even though I asked repeatedly to be informed when anything changed with my order and was assured that I would be contacted.

Even the ridiculously slow delivery time pales into insignificance compared to the attitude of their customer service staff. I only spoke to one genuinely nice, helpful person during all the phone calls I made. Everybody else sounded bore
d, unhelpful, defensive and a couple of them were downright rude and extremely patronizing. Also the vast majority of my e-mails to this company have gone unanswered.

I couldn't in all honesty recommend letsbuyit.com to anybody. They might be cheap, but they’re also slow, rude and downright rubbish. The only good thing I can say about them is that I did, eventually, receive the items that I ordered from them, and they did send me a £10 shopping voucher as compensation (however, this was only after I demanded compensation for their shoddy treatment, they didn't offer!)

I totally agree with this opinion, I am still waiting for customer services to reply to an email sent over a week ago, and I,ve given up trying to get through on the phone.
