Advantages: Good bargains
Disadvantages: Delivery Charges
Littlewoodsextra is the online version of the Littlewoodsextra home shopping catalogue previously known as the Index extra catalogue. The prices & the range of goods within their catalouge is'nt great compared to others e.g. Argosadditions or Kays e.t.c. But the online version of the Littlewoods extra catalogue has some great bargains. They sell a range of items from clothing to electricals, toys, gifts e.t.c. although the emphasis is on clothing. I myself have been an index extra shopper for previous years & had'nt purchased anything from their home shopping catalogue since the change to littlewoods extra. I visited the latest site a couple of weeks ago while comparing prices of other catalogue websites. The general price range for their standard items was either pretty much the same or higher. While browsing I spotted their bargains section although you have to actually register with them to view this. The registration is quiet simple requiring name, address, e-mail, just the basic details. Once registered it allows you to browse by categories i.e ladies fashion, mens, kids, electricals. Once you enter the particular section you can further narrow your search to the particular item range & then click on the amount of discount you're intrested in. I generally start off with 50% off as this section has the most items & the others often include the items shown in the 50% off range anyway. I managed to do most off my shopping within their bargains section unlike other bargain or special offer sections of other websites, this site had a range of items to choose from some branded goods such as nike, reebok, addidas e.t.c. For first time shoppers of Littlewoodsextra.com They are currently offering a further 10% off of if you actually apply for a flexible account which gives you the option of 3 months interest free credit although you have to go through an application for t
his.(I'm not sure if they have the same offer for home shopping customers). They also accept major credit cards. The drawback has to be their delivery charges £2.95 not very convenient if you're only interested in a single item. However delivery's free with orders to the value of £100. There are other quiet intresting sections such as Star Product & "Bidding for an item" where you specify a price your willing to pay for an item (from their chosen list), then a few seconds later it lets you know if your bid has been accepted. I feel this site is worth checking if you're looking to buy clothing, or just enjoy bidding for a one off bargain.

- 06/01/02 i know what you mean about the delivery charge but it's cheaper than Argos (£3.95) and if the item is bulky OR if you live near a USELESS Index store (Lewisham branch) then it's worthwhile for anything except really low value purchases. |
