“ Lunacy Boutique Clothing & Accessories Online Store „
I have recently started reviewing a number of fashion and clothing websites as I thought why not? I visit several daily and I know how it is when you discover a site that you like the look of, but are apprehensive of how the quality of it actually is. So I thought it would be a good idea to share my experience of some of these sites with others.
I saw a small ad for Lunacyboutique.co.uk in the back of one of the magazines that I read, I liked the sound of the name of it and I also liked the brief description of their items. Quite often I check out the clothing sites that are advertised in magazines, particularly the smaller ads because these are the sites where you find real bargains and very different stuff from what everyone else is wearing!
On my first visit to the website I could tell straight away that it was certainly very quirky and different, I could tell this from the images featured of their items and site logos etc. The layout of the site did seem a little bit messy, there were a lot of different pages to choose to go to and content all over the place which often puts me off. But after a sneaky peek on the homepage of their quirky items, I just had to have a browse over the rest of the site.
Each page is broken down into categories, for example you can choose to visit the Bags & Accessories Page or the Dresses page or the Jewelerry & Watches page. I have to say they do have quite a wide range, they sell pretty much every type of item you can think of. They even have a 'Little Lunatics' page for your little girls, which at the moment is very small but I'm sure they will expand on this in the future.
From what I've gathered so far, this fashion site is mostly all about their accessories, particularly their very individual jewelerry and cute bags. This site screams 'Hippy Chic' and they certainly sell clothing and accessories that are very different from any site I've seen. Personally I don't have a Hippy sort of style, but even I managed to find several items on this site that I loved! I particularly like their 'Sweetie Jewellery' - that is jewellery that looks like it's made up of real sweets! Everything from Pick 'n' Mix necklaces to Liquorice Allsorts necklaces to Party Rings bracelets and Jammy Dodger rings! I just love how unique all of their stock is, a lot of it appears to be very hand made but it is still very nice and doesn't lack in quality at all.
They also stock items by different brands, again it's usually the quirky and hippyish or retro brands that they stock such as Anna Lou of London, Aura Bella, Biscuit Boutique, Anisa and many, many more! So there's quite a lot to choose from.
Now you don't get cheap and unique items for cheap these days and this website is no exception. I have seen the occasional bargain, but the majority is a little bit pricey which sadly makes it unlikely to be a site I purchase from often. For example, you can expect to pay £20+ for a piece of their jewellery and £60+ for one of their dresses. But if you are looking for something that will stand out from the crowd or something that no-one else will have then I certainly reccomend giving this website a look. Even if you don't end up buying anything I'm sure you'll just enjoy having a look at the fabulous things they have to offer!
They do sometimes have Sale Items where you can pick up a bargain or two, but most of the time expect to pay full price. I haven't seen many discounts for this website, but if you join their mailing list you will receive 10% discount. They have a 'Help' phone number too which I always find reassuring if you are making a purchase.
Personally, I have only ever made one purchase from this site but I cannot fault it at all. They are apparently a few Lunacy Boutiques around the UK which will allow you to place an order on the website and then pick it up for free from your local store. I don't have one near me though so I had to opt for delivery, but it was free! A massive bonus when shopping online in my opinion! I must say though I think it was only free as a special promotion but it is a positive thing that they do at least have these promotions! Usually though the options available are; Next Day Delivery, First Class Delivery or International Delivery. There is no set cost for their delivery, the price depends on the weight of of your order and you can work this out before ordering by looking on your order page. I actually prefer this as it means you aren't over-paying for delivery. I should also mention that their International Delivery does include quite a number of countries which is good.
If your order arrives and there is a problem or you simply don't like it, you can return it by emailing them and sending your order back for a refund. But unless their is a genuine fault with the item, then the delivery charge won't be refunded. Some items can't be returned though for hygiene reasons such as underwear & jewellery so you need to check this first.
From what I've seen so far their stock isn't updated that often, so they usually have the same stuff on the site, but now and again I see something new that I like. I'm glad I found this site as I love discovering new fashion outlets that are different and a cut above the rest.
They stock UK Sizes 6 - 16 (XXS - XL), there's a search facility and you can shop by brand or price so I'm sure you'll find your way around easily!
