Advantages: Lots of choices, a potion for everything

Disadvantages: You might become an addict

Ever since the day I received my first Lush Bubble Bar Bath Slice ive wanted to try even more Lush products. It’s a rarity that I find perfumed products that I am able to use without coming a rash erupting over my body, so naturally I want more....

As my current Lush stock dwindled I decided to look on the Lush website to see if there was any other delights which would take my fancy should I stumble across a Lush shop on my travels… BIG MISTAKE… I wanted everything!

The website www.Lush.co.uk is set out very clearly with headings to make your navigation throughout the site really easy. One thing I would suggest any Lush virgin does is to click on the ‘Find out more’ for more information about who Lush are, what they do, how they do it, their policies on animal testing, information for pregnant women and much more. This is the first link I went to before proceeding to the main website pages.

The first link on the top left hand side is titled ‘Gifts’ and here you will find a wide variety of gift packages should you feel the need to send someone a Lush package (for information, if anyone is feeling generous then I will have the Super Deluxe box gift set…thank you) and if you click on each individual item the contents of the box will appear on a page for you to see. If you are not sure how much you would like to spend, don’t worry, there are different packages for denominations of £35 and over, £25-£35 right down to £5 and under. Some of the gifts are designed for specific people such as the “Daddy Cool” which is designed for Dad’s with a Lush addiction and another example is “Dude” anot! her gift box aimed at the male species.

Within this section you can also choose whether or not to have your gift wrapped for an extra £3.50 with a ribbon but if you choose a single gift item it will come wrapped already.

The second link along the top of the homepage is my favourite part of the site and that is ‘Products’ everything you need all under one roof as the saying goes and an opportunity to view everything Lush have to tempt you. For those people who have yet to sample any Lush products, I shall mention some of my favourite sections.

Bath Ballistics are as I've mentioned in my previous review, ball shaped bath bombs, which are made up of bicarbonate of soda and packed full of essential oils which give off wonderful aromas. They are about the size of a Tennis ball. Bath Ballistics are designed to fizz away in your bath to create a heavenly and relaxing aroma to soothe away the stress of daily life and they leave you feeling totally refreshed, cleansed and stress free. Bath Ballistics come in all different flavours and some may contain glitter or dried flowers. Ive now tried four different ballistics and I've got a Lush package next to me with even more Ballistics to try. Prices for Bath Ballistics range between £1.80-£2.50 depending on their size.

Bubble bath Bar Slices so far have ultimately been my favourite product and must for those people who love to fill their bath with bubbles. Bubble Bar Slices are designed to be crumbled by hand under warm running water to create a mass of bubbles and as with all Lush products, a wonderful aroma spreads throughout the bathroom and lingers throughout the house. Bubble Bar slices do leave your skin feeling totally moisturised and clean and as someone who has extremely sensitive skin I am yet to find any irritation caused by Lush. To date my favourite is Two Timing Tart, simply because it is pink and when I used it my bath water was turned pink. Prices for Bubble Bar Bath Slices range from £1 to £3 depending on their size.

Lush Soaps are the most intriguing product to date for me, anyone who used soap is probably wondering what is so fabulous about a lump of soap… well let me tell you. Lush soaps as you would imagine by now come in all different shapes and some have a fruity scent and some have a spicy scent to them. Lush Soaps either come in a 100g or 200g bar but it is always better to check with the Lush website or Catalogue for clarification. They range in price from £1.80 to £5.00 and although this is a lot more than most people would pay on the high street, with Lush soaps you get a lot more lather and moisturiser I have found, my skin is super soft and feels clean and moisturised in comparison to the dryness I feel after using high street brands and they also not only smell ! divine but they look brilliant on display in your bathroom. I personally have no trouble justifying the cost of Lush soaps in fact the only problem I have is that I have too many to choose from, there are currently 21 different soaps to try and sample.

So what else do Lush have to offer? It certainly doesn’t stop there, you can buy facial/body cleansers, moisturisers, body butters, toners, body creams, hand creams, lip balms, temple balms, shaving creams, foot treatments, dusting powders, deodorant, face masks, exfoliators, butter creams, shower jelly’s, shower gels, shower bars, bath melts, liquid shampoo, bar shampoo, hair conditioners, hair moisturisers, hair henna, perfume, massage bars and finally hair colourings. There is no product that Lush does not cater for; you can literally spend a good few hours (not that ive yet done it) going through the whole site picking out things like you want. As I sat and wrote this review I put things into ! my imaginary basket to buy at the check out and the cost was frightening, with over 30 items I had decided I wanted to try, before my husband has a heart attack I am pleased to let you know I didn’t actually buy anything this time!

The third section of this website deals with special events and quite simply if you are hosting a corporate event or wedding then Lush can cater for your every need, all you need to do is contact them.

Finally, the main purpose of this website is to encourage you to buy products online and have them delivered to you direct. Having done this already I am pleased to let you know that Lush get the thumbs up from me. Shopping online with Lush is a total breeze and even if your not used to shopping online, this website will not be a problem.

So how do you shop? As you progress through the many millions of product pages, if you see something you fancy then simply click on the item you would like and on the screen you will see ‘Add to Basket’ and you simply click it and a little pop up will appear on your screen to let you know what you have put in your basket, at this point in time you are not committed to buying anything. Once you have gathered all your goods you simply click ‘Review’ and in front of you will appear all the items you have requested, along with the price, quantity and the total, the total will also include the standard delivery charge of £3.95. You can if you prefer, remove any items you have decided you don’t want, like I have said, at this stage you are under no obligations to buy anything yet.

Once you have double checked that you have everything you heart desires then simply click on ‘Cashier’ and you will then proceed to the checkout where you fill out all your details such as your credit card details, name, address etc. and most important your email address because you will be sent an email receipt and within 5 to 7 days your good arrive on your doorstep tightly packaged in a box. Delivery options and charges are clearly set out on the site under the terms and conditions but if you decide you simply cannot wait for your goodies, you can opt to pay around £1 more for next day delivery.

So do I recommend Lush, quite simply yes I do. From their website it is evident that customer satisfaction is of high importance which is why I feel they have opted to have a user friendly site with little or no pop up adverts, everything is set out clearly and concisely so you know what you are looking for.

In comparison to the Body shop with whom Lush has worked with in the past they are miles ahead as a competitor. With the Body Shop I have had many allergic reactions to their products due to having extremely sensitive skin, but have never had any sort of reaction to any of the products I have purchased from Lush.

One word of warning however…once that first Lush package arrives you could suddenly turn into a Lush addict.

Summary: Potion for everyone for everything all under one roof
