I have been ordering online from Virgin Wines for some time and have only had to complain about two bottles.

Unfortunately, my experience with Madabout has not been so good.

Now don't get me wrong...I'm no wine snob. I like wine for every-day drinking and (horror of horrors) have been known to adulterate it with soda water!!!

We normally buy white, as red wine gives my wife asthma. Sticking to one type also allows for easier comparison I believe.

My first (and last) purchase from Madabout was a case of 12 mixed whites and were awful!

One, a chardonnay called "Flat Rock" was supposed to have been "subtly" oak matured.
I think they left the tree in the bottle! I'm sure I could have used it as fence preserver.

Another, a french number with a pretty lable, was so tart that it sucked my cheeks inside-out and left me feeling as if I'd been sat on by Lisa Riley!

Several bottles we simply tipped down the sink having endured a glass each.

I told Madabout after the first two bottles had been swirled down the drain and to their credit, they have refunded the cost. (not just of those two bottles, but also of the remaining two of the same brand that I doubt will ever be drunk)

Pretty good service, but, I'm afraid, not good enough to entice me back.
