I recently ordered from this company, as the site was relatively easy to use, the prices were good, and I thought it was good to see a rival to Virgin Wines.

Unfortunately, madaboutwine.com do not appear to have the infrastructure to support such an operation, offering not just little but apparently no customer service whatsoever.

Having placed a not inconsiderable order, I enquired a week or so later as to whether my order had been despatched (I had not received any notification from them at all) and whether I could have a receipt (which is in fact, the law!). I was cut off in mid-sentence by a very rude representative, and when after she had raised her voice at me, I politely asked her whether she had in fact realised that she was speaking to one of her customers, she paused long enough to draw breath and continue her tirade!

Needless to say, I have yet to receive an acknowledgment, or a receipt.

I would strongly advise you to try Virgin - they may be ubiquitous, but at least you know that you're going to be treated with courtesy.
