Our local shopping centre has a variety of good shops and is practically on our doorstep. There isn't many of them but when it's only a 15 minute walk (a hill which is almost horizontal increases the time it takes to get there, worn out betime I get there!) I'm not going to be fussed too much.
As recent months have passed however my bank account balance seems unable to afford the make up prices in shops. I've never been somebody willing to splash out on a foundation which costs over £5. So what if it's a really good product? Ever the one for a good discount is what goes through my mind. Therefore I intended to find an online make up shop, certain that there was going to be at least one out there. Low and behold I came across Magic Make Up almost instantly. Let's just say I've never looked back!
When there's only a few quid in difference what's the point? You may very well ask, but then as Tescos adverts tell us, Every Little Helps.
Now hopefully you've twigged onto the fact that magicmakeup.co.uk is a website for those who want good make up for a cheaper price. It isn't just make up though. The site also provides discounts on perfumes, jewellery, handbags or even candles. So there is a wide choice for you to pick.
They don't sell cheap stuff either. As in products which aren't very good quality. You can buy Max Factor foundation for under a fiver whilst in places like Boots or Superdrug you'll expect to fork out at least £6 for them. The same with Revlon eyeshadow.
It will cost you £2.95 for postage and packaging so it's better if you buy more than one item at a time otherwise it's not really worth bothering with. It's also pretty simple to work your way around the site as everything is laid out in an orderly fashion. Clearly put so it doesn't take too much to find out what you are looking for.
All the different catagories are shown on the left hand side of the page, providing links to other pages so that you get what you're looking for properly and are not searching around for ages trying to find it.
On saying that, at the top of the page on the right hand side there is a search bar where you just type in what you want, so maybe foundation, click the search button and then you get the items you want. In some cases I've found that they've thrown in one or two make up products which shouldn't really be there but I think they might be doing that on purpose. So you can see these items and decide that you might like them as well.
One problem I find is that they don't always have the shades or colours you want or need. Again I'm going to use the foundation product. Whilst you may be pale, sometimes they only have products for the darker skinned people.
In the jewellery section you can get a pair of earrings for as little as 97p or handbags for just under £4 or bath sets for 68p so every thing comes at a lesser price although in the fragrance section there is very rarely more than one item in it.
Buying your products is also very simple, just find the item you want and click the 'add to my bag' link. On the right hand side it will tell you what you've already got in there. When you get to the checkout page you will have to give them a few details if you haven't signed up for an account but it's all very simple and won't take more than a few minutes.
This has become a favourite site of mine if I feel I am running down on items or just want a present for somebody. It caters for a wide variety of people and is simple and easy to use.
So far I have not received any of the usual rubbish that websites like to send out to your email address to promote new items which I very much am glad of. Even if this does happen there is likely to be a link which enables you to not have them.
This is definetly a site I'd recommend as it is helpful with cheaper products when you don't have the money to spend. Worthwhile and easy to use it isn't time consuming so you're done in a speedy amount of time. Of course there is the problem of being able to know if the make up suits your face and I have been unable to find any words which mention unsatisfactory items or products which you want to return. So it is a bit of a downside. Other than that I find that this is a site which you should give a chance and have a look at from time to time.
Thanks to ldaniels69! After reading your review I went and had a look at this site as it's a new one to me and they've some nice Urban Decay and Too Faced stuff (I just placed an order). I did look for the Rimmel eyeshadow as I like green shades but couldn't find any and it doesn't look like they have any Rimmel in stock. Can't comment on the W7 products as I've never heard of them but they look nice - there's a cool eyeshadow set with loads of different shades called a Paintbox. The site is clear and in nice girly shades, easy to navigate and simple to place an order. Lots of makeup and earrings for 99p - bargain!
Magic makeup sells, handbags, jewellery, makeup and candles, although I think there mainly known for selling discounted makeup. The site is easy enough to navigate around, and is nice enough to look at, nothing special though.
They do not have a great product range, there are a fair amount of products don't get me wrong they have quite a lot of products available, however there are only about 3 consistent brands featured, one of them being the already cheap W7.. so not much saving there. There are a few Revlon and Rimmel items which if you are purchasing from here they are the type id recommend (or any other recognisable brand you come across) as then you can easily compare how much you are really saving. Amongst each of the brands there are very few colour variants which is also disappointing, for example the Rimmel eye shadow set there was only the green colour available, which I would never use.
A lot of the products are only a £1 alongside with delivery so if you manage to find some decent products in colours you like then you'll be sure to get a good deal.
