It's christmas and as I give wine out to a lot of people as presents I decided this year that I was going to buy a mixed case of wine and then give the wines out. I had a look at a few websites and thought that it was really hard to work out what wine I wanted as I was trying to get wine that was a bit special. My husband had one of those birthdays that end in '-ieth' earlier this year and a couple of days before the big day I had a phone call from Majestic Wine Warehouses. They wanted to deliver a present. Oo-er. I just shopped at CD-WOE and discovered Dooyoo at the same time as Ciao. Tegistrered at Ciao and wrote their first opinion on Majestic. Moseyed on over here and found 3 like-minded souls! I can only agree. Their prices are great and I've always liked the wines (I've shopped with my local Majestic shop in Muswell Hill for a while) but what impressed me was their service. I ordered and within 24 hours had a call from someone at that same Muswell Hill store, arranging delivery (completely free, and I gather that covers the whole UK) for when I was in. Having read the opinion written by Gromit I really find that I have little to add. This website is a wonderful way of purchasing wine, you can spend as long as you like browsing and can search through their stock under many different categories, such as grape, region, price etc. The ordering is very simple, but should you have any kind of problems, they are extremely quick to respond to any email queries that you might send them. I had received an electronic gift voucher which I was having problems using, so I emailed them and within a couple of hours I had a very clearly written reply which sorted the problem out perfectly. Theres a voucher for £5 a case of wine at majestic if you sign up with the food and drink website. Ever the sucker for an offer I thought okey dokey then, and bought one. The website is perhaps not so comprehensive as its rivals, Virgin for instance, however it does offer similar facilities. I didnt check but I also dont think it offers the 'send it back if we recommended it and its manky' bonus. (I'd have to check that) However, for someone like me who likes their plonk cheap and cheerful its perfect. Majestic offers free delivery at pretty much any time within a two hour window.
