Disadvantages: Dishonest, Poor customer service, No delivery
Probably the worst company i have ever dealt with. My experience is as follows :
05.10.08 - I ordered some memory, which was listed as in stock, even though it apparently wwasn't
07.10.08 - I received an email from them saying product was out of stock and there would be a delay of 5-7 days.
24.10.08 - After more than 7 days I emailed them to find out what was going on.
24.10.08 - They replied to my email by saying that there had been a 'technical problem' and they thought the order had been
dispatched, and told me to allow a couple more days for delivery.
I waited.
02.11.08 - 6 working days later - I emailed them to say that if it had not yet been dispatched as promised i wanted my order to be cancelled.
03.11.08 - They ignored my request for the order to be cancelled and fobbed me of with an excuse that the order had been 'lost in transit' and said they had posted some more out to me which i should receive in 2-5 days
04.11.08 - I received a returns note and replacement order for some reason with no explaination
11.11.08 - I emailed them ONCE AGAIN to complain and tell them that if my order has not yet been dispatched or has been ' lost in transit' again, to cancel my order and refund my money.
12.11.08 - I received an email to say that the products i ordered A MONTH AGO are now out of stock again and i need to contact them - The memory is still currently showing as 'in stock' on their website!
12.11.08 - I sent them an email to cancel my order and to tell them that i was going to refer them to trading standards, and the OFT. I received no reply
13.11.08 - I sent another email with the same threat to their questions@memorybits.co.uk address. According to their site this should have been answered in 15 minutes or less. I never received a reply.
14.11.08 - I rang them and was told that a manager needed to deal with the issue. I explained that i had sent an email to the 'questions' address and that if he read that he would see all correspondences. I was told that they no longer use the 'questions' address even though it is plastered all over their website. I verbally requested for my order to be cancelled, i couldn't be bothered to speak to the guy about compensation that i should be owed.
Time will tell if i receive my money back - Others do not seem to have received their refunds.
Do not use this company. They are the most dishonest company i have had the mispleasure of dealing with. . . and i still never got the product i ordered!
Summary: I didnt receive the order, and most emails i sent were igonered. Had to threaten them with OFT
