I usually take absolutely ages in card shops when having to choose a specific card for someone because I actually think that as silly as it seems, it's important. My favourite cards are the a la mode ones sold in Clintons, however the prices of some of them, as lovely as they are, is absolutely ridiculous.
Having seen so many of the adverts on TV, I decided to try Moonpig.com and have a look around their site, browse prices etc. The whole process seemed very straightforward and I ended up buying a couple of cards. I think the selection is brilliant and the photo upload cards are very easy to create. I stuck with Moonpig to buy my cards for all occasions, for quite a little while.
This was until I saw funky pigeon which I then decided I liked better. I couldn't tell you the price of the Moonpig cards today, but the funky pigeon ones are very reasonably priced. The reason I swapped to use funky pigeon was the ability to prepay where you are given credit, and the fact that they always have great offers on. As mentioned the credit option is brilliant, and is as simple as paying an amount through Paypal and for every £5 you prepay, they give £1.25 credit and I was not aware of any such offer on Moonpig.
At this point I would not go back to Moonpig simply because funky pigeon works better for me, although I do believe Moonpig have a wider selection, but this has never been a problem for me.
I would definitely recommend having a look at both these sites and seeing which works best for you! :)
I have been using Moonpig for over a year now, as I love making photo cards for birthdays. The process is really easy, just make sure your photos that you want to use are already loaded onto your computer.
Choose photo card, then upload your preferred pics to the website, it will resize them accordingly and you can choose where to put them on the front, middle or back of the card. I tend to use different photos all over the card, but you can also have like a magazine cover with the persons face photo shopped onto it.
Theres also options to just add your message in the middle of the card, and use one of their pre loaded designs. You can change the text on the front so that the birthday boy or girls name is there. This is a nice touch especially for children who may not know how they managed to do that.
The photo quality comes out really well when printed on the cards.
The cards come in several different sizes, I choose the standard size as it goes through the post easily and means that the postage doesn't cost too much. Its around £3.50 to use the service, but obviously costs more if you choose a bigger size. It takes approximately five minutes to create and pay for a card if you know what you are doing and what you are looking for. They have so many designs to look through that you could be there all day. There really is something for everyone. Its not just birthday cards they have it programmed for all occasions. I can sometimes find a voucher code online but mostly it is the same price.
The delivery is quick, so if your forgetful and need to sort a card out quickly but the post office is closed and its late you can still order!
I will continue to use Moonpig's services for peoples birthdays as I have had great feedback from the people who receive the cards and its fun to put some silly photos on. Its a card that people want to keep and remember rather than a generic one from a shop.
I have been an avid Moonpig fan for a few years.
Living out in the sticks it's far easier to reach for your laptop than get the car out so I'm always hunting for good online shopping companies.
Moonpig, for me always delivers - literally. I love the fact that even though I can't get to see my friends or family I can at least personalise their card making it that bit more special.
I love the fact that as a customer I have my own address book on site and that they send me reminders of birthdays, anniversaries etc again making life that bit simpler as I don't have to rush round looking for my birthday diary.
My orders are always delivered on the day I request and I can throughout the process review what I'm doing and edit if need be.
Moonpig deliver a great service which takes a bit of stress out of those panic "Did I remember" days.
I am writing this after the internal argument with myself as to what type of card I should buy for Valentine's day and how much I should pay. This happens for me with any occassion be it birthdays or christmas for example. Trouble is my partner means the world to me and I can't put a price on her but cards are displayed for a matter of a few days then either thrown away or put in a box for the next don't know how many years. As with family and friends I don't want to spend a fortune, especially at christmas time when it is already rather expensive but I have to send a card so as not to snub anyone or to actually let them know I do care. Usually at times of birthdays and christmas I look on Ebay for a nice but reasonably pricced card around £1 to £1.50 or even supermarkets and low priced card shops. However, when it comes to the one I love as previously said I just cannot unjustify the £3.94 required for the personalised card as my own artistic abilities are limited.
I first heard of Moonpig a couple of years ago after seeing the astronaut pig's head on the advert with the catchy jingle 'Moonpig dot com!' on the tv. I have tried the rival brand Funky Pigeon before but I just did not get on with the website layout as well as Moonpig so I stuck with the gravity defying porker. This year I saw the advert which was quite crass with the Barry White esque voice and flowers for £25 but I just wanted the card as I had seen a gift elsewhere which was more personal.
Moonpig have recently updated their webpage but their is the option to return to the old layout if you prefer it. It is a very eye catching set up with bright colourful thumbnail images highlighting a variety of occassions such as birthdays and good luck. Once you click on an occassion in this case Valentine's you get further selection such as cute or spoof and from there you can see their full range (there are a lot!). The bonus of this way to order cards are that they never sell out, each card is printed to order (usually posted the next day too). I opted to personalise the text of the card but you can also make videos, add pictures and change the verses inside.
The cards are available in small (£1.50), standard which I often choose (£2.99) and large (£5.99), there are always offers on such as a pack of small cards at a reduced price or 20% of large cards for example. Postage and handling fees are currently 95p for the cards. The fab thing is that yes the cards are a little more expensive than standard stores but in the price is personalisation and the cards are fantastic sturdy quality which do not collapse under their own weight after a day of display.
Once you have chosen the size and design you can opt to personalise the card. Some features are not available depending on the style of card chosen but the one I chose had an option to change the cover text; some have the option of adding a photo or video. Inside you can write on the front and/or back cover with your own verse, poem or anything you want. Here the font colour, size and alignment can be changed, you can even make your own digital signature. And finally some cards allow for the back to be altered but this one didn't so has the Moonpig logo plus designer details as would any store bought card. This process is easy to follow and comes with instructions to help you make a truely personalised quality card.
When this step is finished you are then asked if you would like to add a gift to your order. For the over 18s there is the option of purchasing alcohol; other gifts include chocolate, balloons, flowers and teddy bears. I did not opt for a gift as I am purchasing one from another outlet.
Once registered or logged in the process is to ask whether you want the card sending to you to sign personally; this is the option I choose as I think a handsigned card looks nice and also I like to check the card before sending. If you would like to sign the card during creation then you could send the card direct to the recipient. Then delivery service can be chosen, the options are first class (next working day after print) or special delivery for those last minute emergencies. I always choose first class as this is reliable and I have ordered the card with enough time, estimated arrival is the 5th Feb 2013.
The final step after confirming the card, your order and details are correct is to pay. Here you can use card, a prepay fund (add £20 and get an extra 25% free) or cash through a preloaded card which can be used at most corner shops.
I find the process itself very smooth and efficient when using a laptop however the app on my android is behind even though fully updated and has no Valentine's cards on it. I can create a card in less than ten minutes but I have used it before and know what I want; if you are a little undecisive the hundreds of cards available to choose from may cause a few setbacks.
Generally my cards are of good quality but one time there was a mistake in the spelling of my partners name (not through my fault, I did check). After emailing Moonpig they sent another card free of charge with no hassle as it was a mistake from their printers. I have used them a few times and this was the only glitch and as it was resolved promptly I have no qualms at all and recommend them highly. The look on my partners face is always priceless when she sees the personalised card I got her and it always puts me in a good light :)
I'd had the jingle from the advert stuck in my head so many times, but had never used Moonpig as I thought it would be more difficult and require more forward planning than just going into a card shop and picking up a card. The cards featured on the advert also always looked a bit like cards you can buy in the shops anyway, just personalised versions.
Then for my birthday last year, I received a personalised moonpig card from a friend which I thought was absolutely great. After that, I decided to have a look at the website myself and discovered that they have a really good range of cards and the ways in which you can personalise them is extensive too.
Some cards you can edit the text, such as names and ages and things and other cards you can upload photos too. I've used Moonpig a few times now and by far my favourite are the cards where you can upload lots of photos to make a bit of a photo montage on the front of the card which have gone down really well among my friends.
The price isn't too bad either considering you'll be getting a fully personalised card. You can also specify the date you want the card to be delivered by so the recipient will receive it on their birthday which is good. There's also an option to send the card to yourself and it comes with a blank envelope as well.
I actually heard about Moonpig not from the popular advert (which completely went over my head until I had actually used the company) but from Dooyoo where I saw a review saying that you can personalise cards. I decided to check it out as I had heard of the brand name before! I will be reviewing the site from the point of view of a customer who has ordered cards from there. I know that Moonpig offer various other services such as flower and gift ordering.
I ordered a card to wish my friend good luck on her year abroad at university. The website asks you to choose a design from their huge range, then there are options to personalise the card on the front and the inside and even the back cover.
You can write the inside message for your card online, so it looks neat and tidy and you can theme the text with the front of the card (for example I ordered an Edward Monkton card and used the same text on the inside of the card.)
It's not like personalisation hasn't been done before for gifts, but I think that personalised cards can be so tasteful and really thoughtful compared to buying a random shop card with no reference to the person and Moonpig have really done well in producing an easy to use site with a great product which is what makes them a winning brand in my opinion.
Communication from the company is good and not spammy. After ordering you receive a confirmation email and shortly later you receive a feedback quiz to rate their service.
I was really pleased with the service and the pricing was reasonable for what you got for the price. I didn't hesitate to order a second card from Moonpig a few weeks after the first order (yesterday in fact!) as the service was top quality and the products are ingenious and a brilliant idea.
The second card I ordered was a Me to You birthday card with an option to add a photo - so I personalised her 21st card with a pic of me, her and our other best friend. She is the kind of person who LOVES personalised things and I know she will really appreciate this so I'm excited to give it to her at her birthday party in a few weeks time!
The quality of the cards was very good, and I have no complaints with Moonpig compromising on standards of materials as is common for say, personalised business cards sites.
Delivery for me was prompt with the card arriving two days after ordering and one day after dispatch which I was pleased with.
--How to order--
Simply customise your card the way you want then pay by card online. Moonpig will then send you a confirmation email with details of your order.
Options for delivery are delivery direct to the person or delivery to you. There is also the option to choose the day of delivery and to pay extra for express delivery if you want to get an absolute guarantee of next day delivery.
I actually ordered the first card on a whim, after deciding I wanted to surprise my friend with a gift and a good luck card for her year abroad and the prices were reasonable enough that I didn't feel like I was overspending even though I am on a budget at the moment! Its a thoughtful something extra without spending a fortune!
You pay a standard 1st class stamp charge for a card or a little extra for an express delivery.
--Pricing and availability--
As far as I know you can only get Moonpig cards on their website at Moonpig.com, and the standard card price is £2.99 without delivery, so with delivery included your card comes to £3.69. In my opinion this is reasonable, considering that cards in the shops not personalised can be anything from £1 up to £5! These cards offer a little something extra for your money and it is for this reason that I would recommend them for greeting cards and would be willing to pay for a really nice card.
Before Moonpig, to make a card a little more personal I would either make a card myself or spend time writing a long message inside, and I find Moonpig convenient but still with a little something to make the card special and to make it stand out!
Personalised cards, top quality service, easy site to navigate, 5 stars from me.
Moonpig is an online supplier of greetings cards, flowers and gifts. I was first made aware of them by their advertising campaigns and their catchy little jingle that stuck in my mind. So when I was up at university and completely forgot a birthday, I instantly knew where to go.
I have personally only ever used the greetings cards service. They offer cards for practically every occasion. Birthdays, Christmas, Mother and Father's Day, Pregnancy, New Baby, New House, Retirement, Saints Days, Thinking of You, Religious Festivals etc. They also do invitations which I think is a bit more unusual and a nice addition to the collection. The main selling point of Moonpig is that the cards are customisable. Most of the cards (so far all the ones I have come across) allow you to customise the text on the front of the card - maybe including you or your loved one's names in the jokes or messages. You can then write whatever you want on the inside on both sides. A lot of the cards will also allow you to upload photos to the front of the card - I haven't really utilised this part as much because I never seem to have appropriate photos to put on, but it's a really fantastic idea. My friend received a spoof magazine card (like the front cover of Hello!) for her 21st birthday and her father had uploaded some hilarious photos - it was a really great card!
They also deliver flowers. The minimum price is £25 and they go up to £120 (vase included in that one). The flowers offer free next day delivery when ordered before 2pm. I haven't ever ordered any flowers from them so I can't comment on the quality, but they look great in the photos. There's a large selection of flowers of different colours and arrangements and there's the option to add balloons, vases and cards.
The gifts section is also something I haven't utilised, but there's a very impressive selection of gifts to personalise. All the normal things you'd get from a photo printing service (mugs, wall art, t-shirts) but also some other things that I haven't really seen before. There's customisable beer, whiskey, wine, vodka, port and champagne - you can add your own text to the labels. I think this is a really great idea for a wedding or birthday present and the beer would be great for father's day. They range in price from £15 for 3 bottles of beer up to £35 for pink champagne. Currently there is no lager (just ale) or cider - think they're missing a trick there! On the gifts section there are also soft toys and chocolates, but these aren't customisable - they are just gifts that you can send. Nothing particularly unique, but they do look nice and the chocolates sound really delicious!
They've also teamed up with Zappar. Download the two apps for iPhone (moonpig and zappar) and you'll be able to record a video to add to your card. The other person can then use their phone with the two apps to scan their card and see the video you've recorded - that is something really nice if you just can't see them on their special day. I've looked everywhere and can't seem to see this offered on the normal site so you have to order your card through the moonpig app (and obviously have video enabled on your phone).
Allows you to create personalised, amusing cards for your friends and family - this a huge advantage because it means you don't have to settle for soppy card company poems that don't give across the message you were really looking for.
There is such a huge selection that it would be nearly impossible to not find the perfect card for that special somebody.
The website is very easy to use - prompting you to edit the text and upload the photos and showing you previews of what your finished card will look like from the front, inside and back. You don't have to use your imagination! I haven't encountered any problems uploading images and if you don't want to upload a picture you can take a picture through the website with your webcam or use a picture from your facebook or flickr albums.
If you order early enough in the day (2pm) on a weeday your card will be there the next day as long as Royal Mail is working properly. There is an option to pay extra for special delivery which guarentees next day delivery.
This isn't a disadvantage of the service itself, but more of the idea in general. The messages are all typed which makes the card seem a little impersonal. My family understands that this is a convenient way of sending cards, but some people might see it as lazy.
The cost is slightly more than I'd expect to pay for a card from a shop plus a first class stamp. For instance the last card I sent came to a total of £3.59. I usually buy my cards from the Card Factory where you can pick up a decent card for about £1.50 or less. First class stamps are 60p so that's £2.10. However, in some shops like Clintons you'd pay up to and over £3 for a card so it really depends where you usually do your shopping.
On their delivery page they say that if you order after 2pm on a Friday, it is not sent until the Monday. This means that you can only be disorganised up to a certain point! However, if you order before 2pm on a weekday they dispatch the same day, claiming that 90% of deliveries arrive the next working day.
A lot of the cards where you can upload a photo look so good in the preview because they have the perfect photo of the recipient to make the joke/punch line funny. Like I mentioned before, you won't always have that perfect photo to make it work!
Overall I have gone back to this website over and over again; there is a similar website called funkypigeon which I am going to try next time I need a card for comparison. Once I have used it I will update this review to share my findings!
When your best friend is turning 21 a box standard Hallmarks greeting card simply won't do! I wanted to give her something a little different, special, something she could remember and keep for a long time.
With this in mind I decided to give moonpig.com a try. Like most, I first became aware of this website after seeing the adverts on the TV and getting that catchy jingle stuck in my head for hours on end!
The moonpig website first launched in the year 2000. Given it's still going eleven years later I suppose it must be proving quite popular and I can't say I'm surprised at that.
Moonpig offer cards from leading card publishers (many of the cards on this website can be found in highstreet stores) with the added bonus of everything can be completely personalised.
The selection of cards moonpig offer is massive, I really wasn't expecting such a variety when I first visited the site. They cater for just about every occasion. Birthdays, weddings, graduation, Mothers and Fathers day, valentines day and every thing inbetween, a suitable card can be found on this website. I was rather surprised to see there was even a selection of cards entirely for Jewish Holidays! Each category also has copious amounts of cards within it meaning you're sure to find a card for any age, gender and personality.
A lot of cards simply offer the wording of the card to be changed. There have been countless of amounts of times when I've found cards in shops which I love the design off which have said something like 'Happy Birthday Mum' which is obviously no use if buying a card for my Sister. This is no longer a problem, with moonpig I can simply change the world 'Mum' to 'Sister'. Or, better yet, add my Sister's name!
Something as simple as changing 'congratulations' to, for example, 'congratulations Uncle James' can make the world of difference, little personal touches really do a long way!
For that extra personalised feel there are a number of cards with enable you to upload your own photo('s) to them. If the recipient of the card is a dog lover and that is the theme you're going for, why not add a photo of their dog to it? Make it that extra bit personal!
Uploading photos to cards is so easy. You can upload a photo from your computer or from your flickr or facebook account. Whichever you decide to do there are easy to follow instructions which even the technophobic among us would easily understand.
So you've fully customised the outside of the card but what about the inside? The inside pages are basically a blank canvas free for you to add whatever you text in whatever font style, size and colour you wish! This is a great idea if you want to send the card directly to the recipient as there is no need to get out your pen and write in it yourself, just type your greeting instead. For the more adventurous why not try writing in your own little poem? I'd personally love that more than any present of material worth!
Probably the best thing about this website for me is the price of the cards. I was expecting these cards to cost a bomb but was pleasantly surprised when I created the perfect card for the friends birthday to find it was only costing me £2.99 along with an extra 50p for first class P&P. Whilst £3.49 would get a decent card from the highstreet it wouldn't get you anything as good as this!
Special delivery (guaranteed to be received the next business day) will, however, cost you £5.84. Unless you're leaving buying the card dangerously late I can't see why you would need this option. If you order before 2pm then your card is dispatched the same day and will only take a maximum of three working days to reach you or the recipient (you can pick who it's sent to).
Cards come in a number of different sizes, £2.99 gets you the box standard, slightly smaller than A5 size card that people normally opt for.
You can also buy four 'small' cards which are about A6 size for £6 which are designed for multiple orders only.
'Square' cards, measuring 132x132mm (a little larger than a CD case) cost £1.99 each and 'large' cards, about A4 size, cost £5.99 each. The large cards are sent in a stiff envelope which may not fit through a letterbox so ensure someone is going to be in when the postman arrives if sending that option.
You can also order 'postcards' which would be ideal for invitations to events such as birthday parties or wedding receptions. These are also designed for multiple orders only, are about A6 in size and cost £6 for eight.
The options and the prices of this website are amazing. Most importantly, the quality of the cards are top notch as well. The card I ordered was sent out promptly and I received it quickly, the card itself was perfect. It looked exactly like the 'preview' I was shown on the website at the time of purchase and the picture quality of my uploaded picture was also great. I could fault it in no way and it really went down a treat with my friend.
Moonpig also offer the option to have a courier send a bouquet of flowers with your card. Currently you get a free standard card with any bouquet of flowers! Bouquets range from £25 to £50 and can be found for all occasions and styles. I haven't ordered a bouquet from the site so I couldn't comment on this service but, if my card ordering service is anything to go by, I imagine it's great!
You can also personalise and purchase mugs and t-shirts from the website as well, all for reasonable prices. On top of all of that you can even purchase wines and spirits from the site. Obviously you get to personalise the bottle label!
As with the flowers, I haven't used any of these services either. The idea of them is great though and I've had a little 'play' as personalising some of the gifts and the previews all look great.
All in all I'll definitely be going back and ordering from this website again in the future. It's a great idea with a wide range of items and the service and product quality is something moonpig can really boast about and be proud of. If you're looking for something extra special for an extra special occasion and moonpig.com should definitely be the first place you go.
Moonpig.... A way of communicating a personalised card, with pictures of relevant images and having it sent across to the desired person so that it arrives a day or so later....
I have had two experiences with Moonpig.... once when I used them to send a 30th birthday card to my best friend, and then when I received a gift/card for MY 30th..... both of which left me thinking this company was great!!
When sending the card, I simply chose the style of card, amended the pictures as I needed.... and the wording inside the card... the provided the address and payment, clicked for the payment and simple as that, the card arrived with my best friend the following day to be opened.... it was great and incredibly personal and for the cost of around £2.98 was incredible value-for-money!!
When receiving I was shocked because I was told to expect a card, but in actual fact I received a huge box... when I opened it, I had a personalised mug with my picture and 'happy 30th' and a card with similar picture... I guess facebook helped my brother a lot in choosing the pictures to use for the card, but honestly - it felt amazing to open such a personalised card with personal family pictures and a personal message... on the back of the card it had a little bit which would normally be like a bar code - but was a family picture... it was an amazing feeling and I would hope to return that feeling to someone soon.... Its one of those feelings that money can't buy!
Moonpig.com is a business based in London and Guernsey which sells personalized greeting cards.
I first became a customer after seeing an advert of theres, with a catchy jingle to it and a great website with lots of options to personalize your card.
I buy all of my cards from moonpig and they have a huge variety. Cards differ in sizes, with a large and regular available. The large really is very big, while the regular's a decent size. At £5.99 for the larger card it's too expensive for my liking so i stick to the regular cards at £2.99. You can also buy a pack of 8 postcards for £6 and small cards - 4 for £6.
The website's great as it's so effiecent and simple, with everything in categoreries making the viewer able to find excactly what they're looking for.
Personalizing a card is easy with the ability to upload your choice of photoes and text and also there ready-print cards in a wide range incuding funny ones, cute ones, cartoon/disney cards and cards with text on such as 'daughter' or 'happy easter'. Me to you cards and cards with landmarks such as the big ben on the front are also available.
Postage is 50p for one card, which incudes first class delivery. Cards are posted seperately even when posted together so the postage cost is individual to each card, making it expensive in postage at times!
If your order is placed before 2pm on a weekday, moonpig ship out your order the very same day.
Flowers & gifts are also available, with the flowers delivered free and the gifts at a small p&p charge depending on the weight. Gifts available are mugs, t shirts and framed images all with personal images or wording which is great for a personal gift to someone.
Personally i'll be continuing to be a loyal moonpig customer because it's so quick, easy and gives a personal touch to your card. The cards are good quality with an expensive, thick feel to them. They never fail to impress me and have always bein delivered on time!
So far i've ordered around 20 cards, including mothers day cards, 18th birthday cards, 50th birthday cards, etc. All are equal to eachother in the high standard of the card and they're much appreciated by the people i gave them to, giving them a good laugh at the personal pictures and wording on the front.
I used Moonpig a couple of times but then thought I'd try a new site called Hephalump.com and just found it so much easier. The site is clean and easy to use and has some great and different designs. They don't do all the things that Moonpig can do but then I like that because it is so much less cluttered and you can sometimes have too much choice!
One thing that Hephalump does do really well is they have this set of planning tools that means you can input names, birthdays, anniversaries, and occasions like Valentines, Mothers Day and Fathers Day and buy cards ahead of time - they then email 3 days before they are going to print the card reminding you of the occasion and also giving you the chance to cancel or change the card you chose. This is great as I had some friends who split up between me choosing their anniversary card and sending it so I just sent a different card to my mate - which he really appreciated.
There's also a great feature where you can upload directly from Facebook and then choose the people from the imported list you want to send a birhtday card to and voila the system automatically populates a calendar with all the birthdays - so now I never forget an important birthday.
Anyway the quality of the cards is good and I can now do a card in about 3 minutes (if the address is already in the system) which is great if I do have a last minute card like a Thank You card.
If you want a site where you sit with your address book or upload from Facebook once and then do all your cards for the year (or for the next three months) once and then sit back and relax then this is the one for you.
I really like one other thing about Hephalump - they have a real person on the end of a real telephone line and the person I spoke to, Francesca, was really calm and helpful when my payment wouldn't go through (I hadn't put in the security code on the back of the card). I thought the bank had caught up with me ...
Hope this has been useful. I'll never buy another card from the shops again!!
Moonpig.com is probably the first website of its kind that i had heard of, since it was launched many other greetings cards website have followed suit and launched a similar service which means that Moonpig has had to get a little more competitive. Unfortunately it does mean that Moonpig is now no longer the cheapest website to go to when buying personalised Greetings cards, but they do have such a great range and literally have a card for every occasion you can think of!
Even if you don't have an occasion to celebrate you can just order a humourous card. You can even buy personalised gifts, flowers and wine! So not only can you buy someone's card at Moonpig.com, you can get there present there too which is handy if you don't have the time to be hunting for presents.
You can choose different size cards and depending on how big you want your card the more you will pay, the prices are;
Small Card: 4 for £6
Standard Card: £2.99
Large Card: £5.99
When personalising your card you can choose what you would like to be written in it and also choose your own photographs to put on the card. They deliver worldwide and they post your card the same day if you have ordered before 2pm, so you do receieve your cards quite quickly. Altough Moonpig is a great site and the most famous for your personalised cards and gifts, it is no longer the cheapest.
Most people will have heard of Moonpig, either by word of mouth, or by the catchy TV adverts. I had seen plenty of them, but not used them until some what recently. For those who do not know, Moonpig is an online greetings card company, which allow you to personalise your cards with words and pictures, and they will mail them for you too.
A friend of mine sent me a Moonpig card after an operation, to make me feel better, as I thought that it looked pretty awesome, so I decided to give it a try for my sisters 21st birthday in December. I hopped onto my computer and went to www.Moonpig.com, where I was straight away greeted with a happy, colourful website that looked like it had been well thought of.
The front page has a selection of catagories for cards, as well as a search function and navigation to other parts of the site and card lists. You can choose from things like birthdays, christmas (obviously nearer the time than now!) congratulations, get well soon and many more. There is even a humour section for that comedy card!
After looking through a few choices for birthdays cards, I picked the one I wanted and when you go into the product page, you get to see the price before you choose to buy it. When you have picked the one you want, click on customise and this will take you to the start of personalising your greetings card. The first thing I got to do was to change the text on the front of the card. This was easy to do, and you are given the choice of fonts and colours. The text you type is shown on the card as you type, so you know exactly how it will look.
After you have picked your text, you then get to upload photos to place on the card. The card I chose had the space for 3 seperate photos, and you upload these one at a time and choose their placement. This was easy too, and it only took a couple of minutes. Then you get to type what you would like to be written inside the card. Again, you get the choice of fonts and colours and you are shown exactly how it will look when you are typing it in.
When you have done all this, unless you want to buy more than one card (just repeat the process again) click on checkout and you will be taken to the sign in page. If you do not have a Moonpig account, you can sign up here, it only takes a couple of minutes and they only ask you for the basic, usual information. Once you are signed in, you will be shown your card again and asked to confirm you are happy with it all. Then you will be asked to tell Moonpig where the card will be sent to, and what name to put on the envelope. You can even put a small message on the front of the envelope if you wish to.
You will be asked which date you would like the card to be mailed out ( I always pick 2 days before, just to be safe) and the card is sent 1st class post, the same day if ordered before 2pm. You will be asked for your payment details, and 1 card with postage usually costs me £3.50. Moonpig accepts most credit and debit cards, and it only takes a couple of minutes to pay. You will recieve a confirmation email of your order, to the email address you register your account with.
I am happy to say, that my cards ordered always arrived on time, in perfect condition and they are always amazing. The print quality is excellent, as are the cards and I find it really makes people quite happy when they recieve a Moonpig card. They are not cheap to buy, but for special birthdays I do not mind paying for them, as the way you can personalise the cards is something I think is really cool.
I recommend Moonpig to everyone, especially those who like to make occasions special. The website is easy to use, and the customisation process is simple, yet the cards look really effective and awesome. I give Moonpig a 5 out of 5, I hope you give them a try soon.
Moonpig is just fantastic and I use it all of the time. They not only hold a selection of cards where you purchase with an incredible array of designs but the thing that I love about it most is the personalisation of cards that can be done where you can add your own text and photos.
I have recently done four cards from moonpig and used photos which I simply got from facebook and although there was a warning sign that cropped up stating the resolution would be low and therefore an image would not print as well I accepted this and when they arrived they were absolutely beautiful, so I had no worries over them whatsoever. The colours are beautiful and correctly printed with a high quality print as well as the card used is always to a very high standard.
They have a selection of cards from birthday to sympathy, funny and hillarious! You can even have cards which look like a newspaper report or a cover of hello magazine and then add your own text and pics to that.
The cost of a standard card is £2.99 and then with added VAT and PP this comes to £3.29 and although this may be a bit much for a card the standard is high, it is hand designed and then printed and then they can send it straight to the recipient which is always nice.
They do other items such as personalised champagne and gifts but I would always stick with the cards as the main idea for this company, they know what they are doing and they are the highest quaility card company online I have come across.
They can even send the card with a blank envelope so you can just add the name on the front of the envelope and hand it to the recepient yourself which is nice.
With birthdays I tend to send presents and a card attached and the cards I get from supermarkets or card shops are decent enough but they seem boring.
I like to send unique cards which have my own mark on them and are specially aimed at the person receiving them. On Moonpig.com there website has so many ideas and it gives people a chance to send a card to someone with there own design added to it.
Usually on this website your given a template of a card. You visit the various types of cards they have down the left hand side of the front page and they have a list of cards. These range from congratulations, birthdays, exams and even sorry cards.
When you click onto one of those areas you then have a various amount of cards show up. You get told do you want a humour card or perhaps you want something more important.
I love humour cards so I usually take a chance on those. You sometimes are given the option of who the card is for. If the card is for a male relative you pick them such as dad or son and they have cards the website deems as being a good selection for them.
You then have various cards show up and you can then alter them. Perhaps you want to add a picture of the person receiving the card and you do this by uploading your own picture of them.
You get to type what words you want in the middle of the card and alter the way the card looks to match how you want it to appear. This is the same with all the cards on the website and your given a price underneath them all as well.
A standard sized card is around £2.99 and larger ones around £5.99 and you do pay postage as well but this varies on destination and also the size of the card. You can send the card to yourself or directly to the person you want to receive it.
I have even sent cards to people around the world and that is the good part. I admit the prices are high in terms of what you can get in the local stores in town centres but this is unique. No one should be giving the same card as you do.
I made one for my dad on his 50th birthday and it was fantastic. I designed the front of a picture of him as a child and in the middle made a joke about him which is kind of a family joke. Then it ended with a nice and calm comment. He loved it.
I think people will know you worked hard on the card and it shows some thought went into it all. I have never had a card not arrive and all are in excellent quality also. They are for me one of the best card sellers online and do a great service.
The one final thing I would say is that sometimes you might want a card but struggle to find one at an event such as a Sorry card and you find them more or less on this website so it saves you looking around when they have them here.
