Advantages: Great value for money, fast efficient service

Disadvantages: OK for me, others perhaps have had some problems

My experience of buying from Novatech has been very satisfactory. While it is true that you can really judge a company from what they do when something goes wrong, when it all goes right that has to stand for something right?

We needed a new computer as the hand-me-down from the inlaws was 'out of the Ark' and 'not worthy of a skip' according to one of my more technical-minded colleagues at work, and was not worth throwing any more money at. The wife was tearing her hair out as she needs internet access for her online business, so we needed a replacement fast!

Looking at the Novatech site which was very well navigated with clear prices, I homed in on one of their barebones bundles. I am not a pc gamer, so I did not need a monster of a system, but I got a pre-assembled case with an Athlon dual core processor and motherboard etc. All I needed to add was a hard drive and DVD/CD drive. These were quickly added to my basket after consulting with my colleague regarding compatability and the order was fired off.

Around £190 for a new pc, which was great, but I was still dreading the box arriving and having to put it all together. When it arrived a day later I was surprised (and relieved) to be able to put it all together myself in an hour. All I had to do was insert the optical drive and hard drive, connect them and turn it on. Installing windows XP and formatting the hard drive was the most time consuming part of getting the pc up and running.

I can remember feeling very pleased with myself for putting together my own pc, although it was very easy, even for a novice like me. The value for money aspect in doing it yourself is not to be underestimated. My Mum and Dad were so impressed with how it all went that when they come to replace their pc, they have asked me to order a self build through Novatech.

I would say if anyone out there is thinking about a new pc, then Novatech are definitely a company to look out for.
