Advantages: Absolutely, totally, 100% none whatsoever...!!!
Disadvantages: Rude, dismissive, arrogant, unhelpful.
Got a Sony Ericsson K700i from them in January and selected an XBox games console from the free gift options.
When my phone arrived, Intead of the XBox I got a cashback redemption certificate for £165 claimable in 3 instalments.
I complained to OSPS who said a mistake had been made. I was told that I could have my XBox - but only if I returned the phone, cancelled my order, and started again.
I decided to stick with the cashback offer which was a big mistake..!!
The first instalment became due in May - so I duly filled in my redemption certificate, attached a copy of my latest bill from Orange, and returned the lot to OSPS at the address they provided.
A month later I'd heard nothing, so I phoned OSPS to ask where my money was. They claimed that they'd never received my cashback claim, and refused to supply me with a duplicate as their company policy stated they they could not be responsible for lost claims. I asked how I could get my money & was told that I couldn't..!!
No apology, no help, no nothing...they couldn't have cared less.
I've since found out that the reason why my claim went missing, is because OSPS have changed address's & are no longer trading from the premises that I was told to return my claim to. They claim that their mail is being re-directed by the Royal Mail, but clearly that didn't work in my case.
I submitted a written complaint to the Sales Manager, who couldn't even be bothered to reply himself.
I've since had 2 letters from their Customer Services department who say that the whole thing's my fault for not sending my claim via recorded delivery - even though there was no requirement to do so in their redemption instructions.
I've complained to Orange who are totally sympathetic and have submitted a Dealer Incident report.
Apparently, if they get enough complaints then OSPS will be barred from retailing Orange products.
I'm currently consulting my local Trading Standards about what to do next...there's no way that I'm letting this rest here..!!
