Newest Review: ... It's worth shopping round a bit more if you have the time because there are more good sites out there, but it's also good to stick to the old reliables like Amazon. A quick rundown of some good sites to buy films: Amazon - Great for reviews if you don't have time for dooyoo, and older films are often well-priced. Delivery is normally fast too. Watch out for marketplace and 'alternative' ... more

... sellers that hike prices up. If you're willing to wait, it's a good idea to add lots of films to your basket and then check the prices over a few days or weeks - each time you go to your basket again, Amazon will tell you how the prices have altered and you...more

Premium Review Online Movie shops in general: Why pay full price? (602 words)

I usually buy films online because they're much cheaper; DVDs come down so quickly in price that I refuse to pay more than £5 for one, and I prefer to spend around the £2-3 mark if possible! If I'm in Blockbuster scouting out the cheap ex-rental DVDs and I see someone just renting movies for a couple of nights, I recoil in horror! I vividly remember queuing up to buy five films for £20 once, and the woman at the other till was paying £20 to rent 1 game and 1 film for two nights! Anyway...I digress. My point was that it's nearly impossible to buy films legally if you're a bargain hunter unless it's online. I prefer to compare prices rather than sticking to just ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Love film (155 words)

Recentley joined LoveFilm, or was joined as I had previously been with amazon. Handy way of renting films, film is sent out and you return it when you're done with it, simple. No obvious annoying latefees although they may apply if you keep the film for ages. It's so annoying to return a dvd to the shop and be fined, it's not always possible to return it so soon! Maybe I'm jsut lazy, As you can imagine, great range of films but you can still come across ones that are not available, overall whatever film you want you have a good chance of seeing. Especially handy when there's that film you saw yaers ago and forgot the title of, a quick google and you'll find it ...  Read the complete review

OK I'm going to betray myself and let you in on the secrets of amassing a decent dvd collection for very little cash, the truth is out there my friends. Yout just have to look hard, keep your ear to the ground and know how things work in the world of DVD and retail in general. I've stated in previous opinions that my DVD collection is large thanks to the cash I've saved as a result of being on the internet, well why not share the wealth. This year DVD has really hit the mainstream and is starting to overtake VHS as the primary home video format. This is thanks to compatibility with games consoles and a whole host of budget players. Now it's all ...  Read the complete review

Chances are if you like your DVD’s like I do, you will find yourself spending quite a it of money on building up your precious DVD collection. You will also find yourself regularly spending £3.00 or more on DVD rentals. Well why spend al this money when you can get things cheaper elsewhere…and more to the point, these DVD’s are bought to you! Yes, I’m talking about renting DVD’s online. A prospect which I was quite wary of to start with, but decided to jump in at the deep end and give DVDs On Tap a go. You see, I had never heard of this company before I signed up, and there are (or were until now!) no reviews of this site on here, ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Online Movie shops in general: DVD.CO.UK - Remember this URL (589 words)

With my family's birthday season coming up I thought I'd look about for a place to get hold of DVDs which was a little better than the usual Woolworths, WH Smith, 101cd.com places that I've used in the past. A workmate has pointed me, as I am now pointing you, dear reader, to the cheapest site around for DVDs in the UK. The URL: www.dvd.co.uk What could be easier to remember when thinking of buying DVDs online? The site is set out quite simply, a list is on the right of the top 10 best selling DVDs, a search engine is set up on the top left for your searching. They only sell DVDs, they have details of when they are ...  Read the complete review
