Chances are if you like your DVD’s like I do, you will find yourself spending quite a it of money on building up your precious DVD collection. You will also find yourself regularly spending £3.00 or more on DVD rentals. Well why spend al this money when you can get things cheaper elsewhere…and more to the point, these DVD’s are bought to you!

Yes, I’m talking about renting DVD’s online. A prospect which I was quite wary of to start with, but decided to jump in at the deep end and give DVDs On Tap a go. You see, I had never heard of this company before I signed up, and there are (or were until now!) no reviews of this site on here, so I actually had to purchase something without the aid of my trusty web site!

Ok, so it was the 14 day trial which made me part with my debit card details. The site promises a 14 day trial, if you decide to close your account before the 14 days are up, you won’t be charged anything, and what’s more, you’ll have probably got a couple of free DVD’s out of the site too. This was my idea, but now, after the 14 day’s, I’m still a member of the site, paying my money monthly and receiving my DVD’s to watch, I couldn’t be happier, seriously, because DVD’s On Tap really does have a good service behind it.

DVDsOnTap.com offer you unlimited DVD’s per month for a certain amount of money, depending on your subscription. The idea is that you look round the site and add the DVD’s you would like to rent to your rental queue. They will send you out a DVD when they have received the last DVD you rented back to themselves. So, you can basically put as many DVD’s as you like in your queue and then leave the site to work for you. Receive it, watch it, send it back, receive the next in your queue.

So, onto the all important prices…..ahhh, this is the scary bit, or so I thought anyway!

There are 4 tiers of sub
scription packages, as follows:

Basic….£7.50 a month: This gives you the basic package. You can have one DVD at any time and they will send you your DVD with an envelope, but no stamp, so your basically paying to send the DVD back. With the basic package you get unlimited rentals throughout the month, as you do with the rest of the packages.

Bronze…..£9.99: This is the same as above, only you get your postage paid for, which is basically a stamp on the provided envelope. It’s a normal 1st class stamp, so if like me you can get loads of stamps from work, go for the basic as it’s no different!

Silver…..£14.99: Getting a bit greedy are we?! With this package you can have 2 DVD’s at once, so you will get more DVD’s in a month, so long as you can watch them all! You also get postage paid on your return envelope.

Gold…..£19.99: This one is the same as silver, apart from you can have 3 DVD’s at any one time, so the way I have worked it out, you could have one DVD for every night of the week, so long as you watch them the day you get them and send them back the next!

Ok, so you can have unlimited DVD’s a month, but say your on the basic package, like myself. Surely you can’t get that many DVD’s in that one month….Well, it takes a basic 3 working day turn around for your next DVD to arrive

Day 1: You put your DVD in the returns envelope and post it first class so it reaches second post that day.
Day 2: DVDsOnTap will have got the DVD back and will send out your next DVD
Day 3: The postman shoves another DVD through your door for you to watch.

This is my experience anyway, this all works ok, so long as Royal Mail are doing their job properly! If they don’t and your DVD gets lost in the post somewhere, don’t worry, all you need to do is contact the customer service department via e-mail and explain that you havenR
17;t received your DVD. The people are not stupid, they know that Royal Mail are bound to loose the odd DVD, so they won’t charge you. However, if a few DVD’s get lost in the post in a certain amount of time, they will simply close your account. They will be operating at a loss afterall, and you could be telling them that you have sent the DVD back, but actually haven’t. Yes, the most dishonest of you out there could nick a DVD, but it really wouldn’t be worth the hassle, you don’t get the box with it and a DVD is no good without the box in my humble opinion!

One of the best things about the site is they let you keep the DVD for as long as you like, you simply won’t get your next DVD until you have returned the one that you have got, so you don’t have to watch it the night you get it, you can watch it the following week if you like, it’s just that you will be missing out on other DVD’s in that month.

I’m now on my 3rd DVD from them and am completely happy with them. I am using the basic package and it works for me. I haven’t got time to watch a DVD every night aterall, so it’s nice to have one every 3 days on average. They have a good choice of DVD’s in stock and I haven’t yet had a problem with them not having my DVD in stock, however, if you do come across that problem all they will do is send you the next DVD in your queue, so you won’t be without a DVD.

Signing up is extremely easy, just a couple of forms, personal details and card details. Just take the 14 day free trial if you like, they will still need your card details to make sure your over 18, but it’s a free trial, if your not happy with the way the site works, just close it before the 14th day and you will be charged nothing.

I’m giving the site 5 stars, purely because it works so well. Think how much you pay for one DVD in Blockbusters! £3.50? 1 night rental? Pah!
For 2 DVD’s you’ve got yourself a monthly subscription! I reckon I could get 10 DVD’s a month on average using my package, for those paying £19.99 on the gold package, you could get one for every day of the month, think of the money you would be saving. 30 x £3.50 in blockbuster? £105…..DVDsOnTap? £20….that’s quite a decent saving if you ask me!

Now, I’m going to be cheeky, but I’ve never done this before on any of my opinions. I can make a bit of extra beer money if you sign up via my referral. I even get money if you just sign up for a free trial. I can’t put the referral link on this op as it’s against the site rules. So if you would be kind enough to e-mail me (address on my profile) or leave me a message and I will send you a link back, if your not kind enough, or just don’t like me, you can carry on to the site! Or if you like, you can even e-mail me to tell me you don’t like me! E-mail address is on my profile. Cheers people!

Without my referral: www.dvdsontap.com Enjoy.

For two months I couldn't use my DVD player because of problems with my new flatmates TV. I have now got a decent TV, but the DVD player is now in for repair - it could take up to a month - AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGH HHHHH!

Sounds good though - great review - cheers!
