Online shopping - Comments & Tips

On-Line shopping is a boon for busy working mums. I am an avid on-line shopper, everything from my weekly shop to my christmas shopping. I use sainsbury's for my weekly on-line shopping and find it a real boon to freeing up my precious time. The advantage over other online retailers for me being that their delivery slots are only 1 hour slots not 2 hour slots, therefore less time to have to be at home. My shopping arrives as fresh and well chosen as if I had done it myself, maybe even better as I found shopping a chore to be rushed. I am a self confessed online shopaholic! There is not much i love more than having a parcel come through full of new goodies! I will talk you through my experiences, and my thoughts on shopping online. WHAT TO BE AWARE OF. When shopping online, when you go to a your details page make sure there is a small padlock icon on the bottom of your screen. If there is not, get off. I have always been sceptical about online shopping. I always go online first to the likes of River Island or Topshop and look at the products first, then I know what I am looking for instore. I have come to realise though this isnt always best, as it turns out shop workers don't keep up to date with their stores websites . . . . I was recently looking at a bag on River Island, went instore, desribed it to the manager of the store to which she looked me puzzled. Turns out stock online doesnt always match the stock instore. In general online shopping allows consumers to compare prices over the internet and buy goods lower than RRP however it can also be a frustrating experience. When I buy something I like to believe that I have purchased something at the lowest possible price. There is nothing worse than ordering an item and then next day that item you ordered has seen a 50% price drop on a few websites. I don't know how I would survive without online shopping. Probably about 75% of the things I buy are bought online. Its so addicting as everything seems to be much cheaper online and its so convenient as you can do it from the pleasure of your own home. Whether it be Amazon or eBay, HMV or WHS Smiths. I am always lurking online shopping sites trying to find the best deals and bargains to buy.
