Excellent machine that that I always wanted and could not have been made possible without the help and guidence from the people at pcspecialists
Great service and a great quality product and all at a low price. Even the turn arround time was amazing. Cant complain about anything.
The machine does what it says. It is a fast efficient work horse. Used one at work for 2 years without problems, now got the same for work at home.
The value for money is great and you don't have to pay a lot more than if you were to build a computer yourself. However, the communication from the company is very poor and I chased several times just to get an even vague update on when I could expect my computer to be delivered.
I purchased a top-spec gaming PC from PC Specialist. It has been built and configured to the highest specification, I am extremely pleased with the build quality and performance.
The packaging was great, even packed form inside of the case so that nothing came loose in transit.
It took 8 days from ordering to the PC being shipped and delivered on the 9th day.
My PC was built to spec and is as delivered. There was good communication when my chosen case was not big enough to house the chosen motherboard and graphics card. The PC is very fast, as would be expected, and is very well built. There were clear instructions upon delivery telling me how to remove the foam that had been inserted to keep it safe during transit. Courier service was good, and was delivered within a day of dispatch. They kept me up to date with an hour slot for deliver (and it arrived one minute into that hour slot).
The PC was delivered along with a welcome pack from PC specialist, which contained a lot of useful information, items and instructions. For example, it has all of the disks for the installation of all of the components (graphics card, mother board, both hard drives). It also has all of the user and operator manuals for all of these components (probably about half a trees worth with the amount of paper, but useful to know that it's there). The pack also contains various items such as wires and cable ties, which I am assuming are there in case you need to modify the components in any way. There are other items but being an amateur I couldn't tell you what they are for.
The only complaint would be the build time, with the PC being dispatched one week after the initial estimation, spending four days in pre production, though I do understand that build times can vary. The website was also a little confusing while tracking the order - it told me the PC has been build on a certain date, and the next day I got a phone call telling me that they were building it but I needed to change the case.
This was my first time ordering product from PC Specialist. Overall the experience has been great. At every time it was very clear to me what am I ordering, that all components are compatible, what to expect next and what time it will take for each step. The online ordering process even warned me that I can choose other power supply to save some money.
Packaging is something that really stands out. The machine is safe and all components are nicely put together.
The machine build is superb, it is clear from the first look at the components that someone took the time to check everything is set the best it can be.
Only drawback is OS setup (Windows 10). I am not sure if this is PC Specialist or Microsoft fault, that is why I am giving full 5 stars for the product. The problem was that I could not install most of the apps (like dropbox, google drive, Java SDK). Mostly there were no errors, just nothing happened. After reinstalling OS these problems disappeared. I am suspecting that the problem was that after initial full name entry when starting Win10 for the first time, Windows created %APPDATA% folder with my full name (with some special characters in it) that most of the apps could not handle during installation. Once again, most probably not PC Specialist fault, but would be nice to have a warning about it somewhere in the docs for us installing Win 10 for the first time.
Great service. Updated promptly throughout the entire process. Laptop ready to go straight out the box. Laptop is great value for money
I like the computer because it's quite fast and boots very quick. It works quite smoothly. The graphics card is really good for a laptop. Most games can be run on Medium quality. The only downside is that it get heated up quite easily when you play games, so it is a good idea to get a fan pad so you can use it for extra cooling.
In case my specs aren't clear:
InWin 703 tower
i5 3.5 Ghz
nVidia GTX 950
Samsung SSD 120 GB
1TB more of hard drive
350w corsair power supply
noctua processor fan (I forget the model but it cost £70)
My PC came about 13 days after ordering - not the quickest delivery, but I'll forgive it since they've seemed to do a solid job with the build, overall. It's everything I expected from reading other's reviews. The cable management is very tidy which is essential with a case that has a window (InWin 703) and I appreciate that this case in particular has very little space to work with. My one qualm is that they don't appear to have put in the intake fan that comes with the case as standard, and while this is fairly unnecessary since I also have a (very very quiet, I'm happy to say) Noctua fan for the CPU, it would have been nice to have more options. Nevertheless, I'm happy with my buy. After totalling up the cost of parts & Windows 10 individually I figured I'm only spending an extra £20 on getting my PC pre-built. As a first-time PC owner (I've been using the same old iMac for the last DECADE), this was a good enough reason to ignore my friends telling me to build my own PC. I'm sure upgrades will happen in time, but for now I'd rather leave the PC building to the PC specialists.
(Having said this, it's a shame no one told me a lower budget, lower wattage power supply would be so noisy. It's by far the loudest part of my computer which is otherwise near-silent - thank you, SSD - even after an hour or two of gaming.) I will likely buy from PC specialist again.
Overall the laptop I am very happy with the laptop It is light, fast and powerful.
The only issue is that when it arrived the body had not been assembled properly. I had to manually push together the site of the laptop.
Delivered exactly when I wanted it which was good. The PC is excellent and runs quickly - makes no noise whatsoever. Only grumble is that the WiFI adapter is not internal (not made clear when ordering) and they sent me a bulky adapter that clutters desktop and sits alongside the PC. I wrote to PC Specialist, who apologised, but did not offer a replacement USB pen stick dongle which I hoped they would.
I used PC Specialist on the recommendation of a friend.
I got the laptop I wanted at a price that beat all the major suppliers.
I had elected to supply and install my own software but the laptop came with Windows 10 pre-installed and I couldn't work out how to clear the drive and start again. I contacted Tech Support to help with installing Windows 7 and I got the necessary information but because of difficulty of sourcing drivers in the end I opted to re-install Windows 10. Installation was effortless using the supplied driver disk. Slowish reply from Tech Support to my queries at just over a day but quite acceptable and the information was good and friendly.
I purchased my desktop computer from pc specialists a few years ago and was so pleased with the quality and service that I had no hesitation in ordering a new laptop from them.Using the website was easy and straightforward. The laptop arrived in two weeks and is of a high quality.I strongly recommend pcspecialists.
I ordered a gaming desktop from PC Specialist.
I was very impressed by the flexibility of the build options available to me. I also liked that there were regular tracking reports on build progress. The build was delivered to me well within timescales, I was pleasantly surprised by the speed of the delivery. I liked that they used a courier company DPD which gave hourly delivery time slots and that I could track the individual driver through the GPS on the van.
On arrival unfortunately the desktop box was delivered upside down and had been opened, presumably by the courier. Packaging was excellent including an inflatable "cushion" inside the case to minimise any vibration in transit. I signed for the PC as being opened and unchecked and checked that all the software CDs and bits and bobs were in place. These were nicely presented in a simple to store box which I appreciated as it's simple to keep everything together that way. The build inside the case looked neat and tidy.
Obviously with the box having been opened I was keen to make sure that all the various elements in the desktop were still present and hadn't been switched out. I called PC Specialist immediately on accepting delivery and the person handling the call was helpful, professional and sympathetic. It was also nice there was someone to talk to at 7 pm. The next day having gone through set up and having sent some photos of the box, the case and my dxdiag I called in and another helpful and polite rep walked through the order and the dxdiag to see everything was there. Everything was intact (the persons unknown who had opened the box had clearly decided taking the PC apart was too much effort) and I am very pleased with the desktop's performance.
I would recommend PC Specialist without hesitation. I have had a couple of custom builds in the past which have been a nightmare and was hesitant to try again but they came recommended by a friend and I am very pleased I ordered from them.
