Newest Review: ... but for the next few months I just assumed I needed to find and switch something in vista or BIOS to sort this out, i.e. not something worth going back to them about. By 9 months down the line I was having a host of problems; the PC kept hanging for no reason, kept dropping recognition of the tv card, the sd card reader wouldn't work, and the headphones issue remained despite me doing ... more

I've had my pc specialist computer for 2 years now, so hopefully this review will give a broader view of the customer experience over time - many previous reviews focus on slow delivery etc, but for me the important thing is whether the product itself is any good. I went for an expensive (to me anyway) custom build because my last PC (from the now defunct Panrix), which was also a custom build, lasted 7 years or so - I only replaced it because I could no longer run todays software, the PC itself was still going strong. So... I spent about £800 on a reasonably high spec custom build from pc specialist. It was delivered within 3 or 4 weeks, very well ...  Read the complete review

Express Review on pcspecialist.co.uk

The overall buying experience was excellent. I was kept informed every step of the way of how the purchase was progressing. The 0% interest free credit i.e. buy now pay in 12 months time was also excellent, using V12 finance. I purchased a fairly high spec AMD quad core PC with 24 inch LG Screen. All the parts I ordered were carefully researched, and supplied as advertised. I did not require an OS, as I was loading Kubuntu 9.10. I have already recommended the company to friends and family. Now smiling while photo editing, listening to music and rendering video, all at the same time. :-)

Express Review on pcspecialist.co.uk

I ordered a Desktop from PCspecialist. It was a bare-bones system and the quoted delivery date was 11-13 days. The system was still in pre-production 3 days before the last delivery date quoted. I e-mailed them threatening to cancel the order if they failed to keep to the delivery quoted. Surprise surprise , all of a sudden the order began progressing. I accepted delivery of the system about a week late. Within hours the first fault manifested itsself. The computer would restart for no good reason. Cut a long story short, I finally got them to pick-up the faulty, brand new, computer after fighting through the RMA returns system. I'm waiting to see what excuses they provide, but having searched the web for "PCspecialist problems", and having found dozens of other people who have had problems with this company, I expect this problem to drag on and on.

PC Specialist offer a good price with their computers, but with low prices often comes low quality. When I first got my computer I was overjoyed with it because it came in the time that was specified and everything was as it should be. (Jan 2008) Then the trouble started. One month after spending £750 on my Computer the RAM failed and I had to send back my computer. Two weeks later I got it back. I have to say that it is discraseful. Only 1 month after I bought the computer the RAM failed, and after 2 whole days of QA (Quality Assurance) it was slightly annoying. Also note that the phone calls take about 30 mins to answer and thats a lot of cash. (Feb ...  Read the complete review

Do not have anything to do with this company - their customer service is the worst I have ever encountered! I spent just under £1000 on a mini computer and various extras. They failed to tell me that the TV card I ordered would not play with Vista Home Basic. The professional they engaged on my behalf and for whom I had the priveledge of paying an extra £80 to set it up had never seen a mini computer before and had less idea than I did how to set it up. Within a couple of months the computer had gone wrong and I had to pay to return it to pcspecialist. They kept it for 10 days and when I enquired about its status they sent it back to me still not working. I sent it back ...  Read the complete review
