Order changed, slow to build, not brilliant

Advantages: Custom-built PC
Disadvantages: Slow service
When you're told at the checkout that "your selected components are compatible" and can be built into a system, you expect just that. When you see that most systems are dispatched in an average of "17 days," that's what you expect.
You don't expect those "days" to turn into "working days" - thus taking 17 days up to 23-25 days! You certainly don't expect it when they've taken your hard-earned money up-front, for a system that doesn't actually exist at that point in time.
Then they ring you, to tell you that, oh, actually, your system isn't compatible. You can't have the huge capacity drives you want, only the big capacity ones, because we didn't tell you that the ones you chose don't work under RAID. You check the HDD manufacturer's website to find that they do apparently work under RAID, so PC Specialist was bullsh***ing you. Still, they did give me a refund of the difference. Not that I knew when they'd done that - no phonecall or email about that.
There's a handy "tasks" section on the order to note any changes. But they'd not logged the HDD swap on that. Or my refund. It was all guesswork.
So, eventually, you'll get an email saying it's ready to dispatch. And the following day, a text message saying it's on its way on what time it's due to arrive. Shame you didn't get the info the day before so you could actually arrange to be at home...
Opening up the box reveals a warning to say "remove the foam" from the case to protect the components. And screw the chassis fan in yourself, before you wire it up yourself, noting of course that they didn't leave you a free molex connector to do so and you'll have to dig around the tightly cable-tied bundles to discover one. But the best is yet to come - the fan doesn't spin; they forget to tell you that the CPU cooler you chose is too big and isn't compatible with the side chassis fan in the case you chose. Nor did they think to include a smaller fan that would actually be compatible...
All in all, not brilliant for £1,300+...
Summary: Better off going to a physical store and buying the parts yourself...
