Advantages: Custom built machines
Disadvantages: Due to a high number of sales the whole process can take up to a month.
Just like many people looking to buy a new computer I looked in the big brand stores such as PC world etc.... I soon realised with the help of forums and so on that in fact they have been selling overpriced low end machines to the majority of people for years.
After using google to find a site where I could build a gaming rig I came across pcspecialist, which I must say instantly drew me in. The site is easy to use and the breakdown and cost of the rig you are configuring is displayed throughout the process.
After deciding on a build I asked for feedback in the sites forums. (there seems to be one member who replies to everybody's build posts) He seems to know what he's on about, but nevertheless I ignored him and went for an i7 processor as opposed to the reccomended i5, a decision I do not regret in the slightest.
So I placed my order and as anybody would be I was excited to receive my rig. If you dont pay for a fast track build, this time seems like an age, but you have to remember this company is receiving high sales because of how well it operates. Wouldn't you rather wait a little extra time and get a quality product? The first bit of the 'build journey' seemed to take an age with the first two stages taking over a week, this is not a criticism, I'm guessing I was just excited.I was being unpatient and so I rang to check the status of the order and how things were going, I was spoken to by a gentleman who explained that they were receiving a high number of orders and I was told my build was in the queue and would be built within a week. I was happy with this as I felt as though the company cared about my case and was doing everything it could to unite me with my rig asap. nevertheless I went about my business to find that 3 hours later my rig had been built thanks to the generosity of the man on the phone putting a priority on my rig (hope this doesn't get him into trouble).
So I received my computer within 2 days of the call and what can I say. The build itself it neat and tidy and the wiring looms have been clearly looked after and placed in such positions to give free and easy access to all internal components of the computer. The components used are good quality and the rig runs like a dream.
I would reccomend PC specialist to anybody looking to buy a PC of any spec. I am pretty sure I will be using the online upgrade system within the near future to upgrade my rig as and where I can.
Thanks PC specialist
A very happy customer
(oh and they give customers who write a review a 4gb flash drive)
Summary: I wouldnt go anywhere else for a pc in the future.
