Advantages: staff were well informed, good discounts
Disadvantages: none today
Well, I may seem to be bucking the trend of current reviews, but I had a very good experience at PC world today.
Went in to a Devon branch, and got some help about buying a laptop, wireless router, from a bright, amusing, and genuine sort of guy. I was looking at a samsung for about £520.00, but he said for my needs they had a advent on offer which was £100 cheaper, and he then said (very quietly) that if i went home and ordered via collect@store, i could save another £ 20.00 off.
so duly went home, checked a few reviews, then went ahead and ordered.
Went back to the store. The initial guy had gone to lunch, so a very sweet girl served me. She helped me choose a suitable wireless router/modem, and got the recovery discs for me. Then
when i got to pay, she said they would give me the recovery discs free (usually £15.00) plus another £20 in "managers discretionary discount" . I also got norton for 29.99, (half price)
so because of helpful staff i saved approx 85.00. on a £520.00 purchase.
I was dealt with quickly, and things explained at a level I could understand. It was actually a pleasurable process.
Everything is home and set up now, and everything seems to be working as it should be, so I am happy, as the bank manager should be.
Summary: I'm wireless, instead of clueless
