Advantages: Consumers have access to all things PC
Disadvantages: Item prices are out of date for this day and age.
Because PC World is a well known retailer, people will flock to there website purely on the name, but they are missing heck of a lot from other computer shops online. PC World do provide you a decent shopping platform, safe and secure, you can use your credit card and other payment methods with confidence, but price wise there's no way you'll make a saving.
PC World quite often compare their cheaper online prices compared to their "own" in-store prices. The only reason they do this is because they can't boost about being cheaper than other online retailers as their prices are still ridiculously high, so they secretly compete with themselves. I'm probably way off here but it's always the high street retailers that do this, trying to foul their consumer base with sales techniques.
Despite the high prices on items where smaller online shops stock the same item with upto more then 40% off, I'm sure people will still trust the name and shop with PC World. Not that I have anything against them, but why buy something as simple as a USB cable when you can get it a fraction of the price and make a massive saving on the delivery cost.
Summary: Will make it easy for novices to get their PC problems sorted in no time, but it's not cheap.
