Play.com is a retailer based in Jersey that sells dvds, cds, clothes, books, console/computer games and gadgets and electrical items and accessories. Play.com was founded in 1998 under the name play247.com and was one of the first online retailers to be aimed at the uk. As of January 2008 it had over 7,000,000 customers, a catalogue of over 5,000,000 products and employed around 500 staff.
Along with Amazon this is my favourite internet site. Its amazing around Christmas time as its very rare that the item you are looking for is out of stock, its always one of the cheaper retailers and unlike Amazon offers free delivery no matter how little your order comes to.
The website is simple to register to and simple to use. Simply type in WWW.PLAY.COM and register. Your email address is your username and you have to make up a password to open your account then your ready to shop.
Simply type in the search box the item you are looking for and it will appear with all details on the product, the price and if it is in stock or not. If it stock its generally with you in about 2-3 days through normal posting, if not your order will be stored on their system until it has come into stock though i have never missed a deadline for when i need an item.
You can check under the 'my account' tab the status of your existing orders so you know whereabouts your items are. You can pay by either credit or debit cards.
I use this site on a regular basis purely because it is cheap, reliable, they have a great range of products, offer products for no postage and i have never had a problem with them.
If you are a fan of internet shopping i highly recommend you try this site. Cant be beaten in my opinion.
