Items never arrive. Play.com offer a recalcitrant, indifferent kind of customer service

Disadvantages: Play.com don't send the items out at all or, if they do, only after weeks of delays
About a year ago I ordered a mobile phone from Play.com. Having ordered countless gadgets through Amazon, I expected next-day delivery, or at least within four or five days. This didn't happen. The phone, in fact, never turned up. I emailed Play.com but they refused to do anything about it until 28 days had passed, during which time I was without phone and the money I had paid for it.
This experience really soured me to Play.com and I didn't see myself using them again. Nevertheless, about a fortnight ago I wondered if they had improved at all and placed an order for a wristband for jogging. The next day I had an "Item has been sent out" email but, to date, some nine days later, it still hasn't arrived. When I emailed Play.com about this they said that they would not look into it until 15 working days (so three weeks) had passed.
Absolutely shambolic. I can't believe that this company is still in operation. Save yourself some considerable heartache and time by simply shopping elsewhere. HMV.com and Amazon, between them, offer everything that Play.com stock, plus they won't keep your money and refuse to send out the goods.
Summary: I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than deal with this shambolic outfit again.
