I chose QED because of their good reviews but my experience was far from good. I ordered a cooker and cooker hood that came 2 weeks late. First, I was called and told it had been stolen off their truck. Then, the next attempt to deliver failed because their courier company went bust. Then they turned up out the blue but couldn't deliver as the items weren't on the truck. Then the cooker hood turned up but no cooker. Finally, I had to phone the courier service myself to get the cooker. You could say it was partly the couriers fault but at the end of the day, they were representing QED and I paid £60 for delivery. Having just moved into a new flat with my partner 2 months ago, we needed to get some appliances. We browsed the internet to find the best price on the washer dryer we were after and qed were said to be the cheapest. So we placed an order with them for a Hotpoint WD865a Washer Dryer on the 20th September 2004 for the sum of £426.52 (inc delivery). It is now 17th November 2004 and still no washer dryer! When we placed an order we were initially told 7 - 14 days. After the 14 days had passed we emailed them asking what was going on. Possibly the worst customer service I have received from ANY shop in 30 years. Arrogant staff who?s only excuse is ?but we are busy?. I spoke to the customer services manager who has no idea of the distance selling laws and has a total disregard for you as a customer. I had waited 38 days for delivery with no contact at all (after they had taken my money). They did not respond to emails at all. Maybe the Miller Brothers who own this company should clean up their act, because they are giving internet selling a bad name ? BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK!
