I was an Abel & Cole ("A&C") junky and had been for a good 6 months. Only to discover that A&C actually did start palming me off with junk and so I decided to jump ship and check out Riverford. I've had a few deliveries from Riverford now and I can honestly say that everything is so much better than A&C. When my boyfriend and I moved in together in September, I knew that he would immediately try to convince me that we should be buying organic food and the Riverford was the way forward. Now, I had nothing against the idea of organic food, in fact I quite liked the thought of food not sprayed with various nasties, but I always refused to buy it because it was so much more expensive than regular food. I have a little secret to tell you " I HATE VEG" It's really hard when you have 2 growing boys and you are trying to make them eat it. I find most shop bought veg tasteless and bland. My youngest is brilliant and will eat all types but my eldest really hates it as much as me. We tend to hide a lot of his veg in mash potato and he will eat carrots. So last year we decided to clear a space in the garden and try and grow our own and we had success lovely peas, Sweetcorn, Carrots & runner beans and i did enjoy them, They had more taste and i knew that i had grown them myself so they were natural. The veg at Riverford is superb, and I will still purchase from the shop (when I can get there!) the delivery experience has been one of extremely poor service, bad attitude, and total disregard of 'the customer' I NEVER had a delivery on time, and would have to phone to enquire where the box was two days later, only to be told the driver was not reliable and they 'get alot of this'. As a family we where excited by the prospect of the weekly surpise and new items to try, it ended up as a dissapointment, with us buying elswhere in case the box failed to appear.
