I find these to be an excellent outdoor clothing brand. Their products are well made, specialised for particular environments and long lasting. What I find very helpful is their rating system into the four climatic zones: temperate, cold, tropical and dry. Their stores also arrange clothes into these four categories. The jackets especially are rated against cold guard, heat/ sun guard, wind guard and also their number of secure pockets and how waterproof they are. This helps you to buy exactly what you need.

They can be quite expensive, but as I have said they do last a lifetime and are still fit for more wear afterwards. The sales can also be pretty good.

My experience in-store is again a positive one. My local store is the one in Hale, Greater Manchester. Whilst it's small they sell a good range and it's neatly divided up into the 4 climatic areas that I mentioned above. Finally, the staff there were very helpful. They seemed to know the brand and be able to advise you on what you needed on the technical side, as at the time I was planning a trip to Northern Canada.

Summary: If you're going on expedition, it's worth going down to your local store and just asking for advice.
