I came across this website purely by accident. My mother is one of those women that has everything so I dread Christmas and birthdays as I never know what to buy her.

As it was her birthday a few weeks ago I decided to treat her to some new makeup. She always comments on the colours that I wear and often says how she likes my nail varnish, lipstick etc, so taking that as a hint I nipped into town and looked in Boots. A few items caught my eye, but they were really expensive for what you were getting. I wanted my mum to have a few parcels to open, but if I was to get anything here, then it wouldn?t look a lot.

So back home I tramped, downhearted. I decided to have a look at the web. I hit the gifts pages and found this website www.saveonmakeup.co.uk. My prayers were answered.

As the name suggests this site sells beauty products for a fraction of the price in High Street stores. I wish I had found it sooner, as it would have saved all the hassle I went through over Christmas L.

The website is easy to navigate and the pages load quite quickly. Once you log-on to the site you reach a welcome page. Here you will find the company?s contact details and a short summary on what they are about. To go shopping you just click on ENTER SHOP and it immediately takes you to the Shop.

At the SHOP you are given a list of all the departments, including lipsticks, eyeliners, mascara, nail care, eyeshadows and many more. Each department has a range of different products from a few well-known brands like Revlon, Max Factor, Mary Astor, and Maybelline to name but a few.

For my mum I decided I would buy a gift box that you see for sale in most card shops and I would fill it with various items. I picked out 3 Rimmel Lipsticks costing just £1.50 each, 2 Maybelline quad eyeshadows for £2.95 each, 2 mascaras for £1.50 each, 2 Maybelline Nail varnishes for £1.95 each and a few other niknaks. The grand total came to less than £25.00 so I w
as really impressed. My mum was really chuffed too and thought I?d paid a fortune. One of the lipsticks normally retails for over £5 in Boots so I had definitely made a saving. I ordered some bronzing pearls for myself today costing only £2.95. I saw the same ones in Boots for almost £6, so I would definitely recommend this site.

There are various colours to choose from unlike some companies where only certain colours are available. You know the ones that noone else likes. Although there is not a huge selection of items there are still plenty to choose from and the site is updated from time to time.

Also on this site you can buy imitation perfumes priced from £3.00 to £7.00 for 100ml. Fragrances include a perfume likened to Jean Paul Gaultier and also Cerutti. I have yet to try these, but the bottle designs look good. The Jean Paul Gaultier perfume is aptly named ?Catsuit?, only hope they didn?t mean Cat?s Pee because JPG is one of my faves. If you prefer the real thing then there are also miniature samples of perfumes and aftershaves, but only ones made by Givenchy. These cost £2.95 for 4ml.

Another great aspect of the site is the Bargain Basement. Every week there are new items added to this department. Here you can expect to pay for as little as £1.00 for an Olay Blusher or £2.95 for Revlon Colourstay foundation. I paid a lot more than that when I bought it last.

Paying on-line is safe as the site is secure. No need to worry about passing on your details because once your order is complete, your details are deleted. You can use most credit cards including switch, mastercard and visa. Postage and packing is free if you use standard first class, but if you want added security then you only pay £1.00.

I only had to wait for 4 days for my order to arrive and I was really pleased. Everything I ordered was together in a brown jiffy bag and all items were individually packaged.
